We planned a move from South Florida to New Jersey. The owner came to our place took photos, and quoted us on both our place & storage unit. A day before we left, AFTER they packed our place they told us they could not take our storage unit (which was in the contract). Moves are stressful as is, let alone moving to another state; to have a moving company last minute bail. The driver arrived and dropped everything off, mind you it was in the contract to assemble everything. At last minute in a new state, where we knew no one, we had to find someone to re assemble our furniture. Not to mention the items that were delivered were damaged, and there are still items missing. After the owner exchanging explicit language with us due to their incredible lack of incompetency, as paying customers I would highly advise to steer clear from these movers. STAY FAR AWAY!! We hired Zoom to move our house in November 2021. They sent one "supervisor" like person and a bunch random guys who had no idea what they were doing. They ran out of boxes and my husband had to run to Home Depot to get them more boxes and tape. Mind you we have a VERY detailed description of what was needed to be moved from our home. The guys just threw stuff in the boxes without packing and securing anything. They even packed up sentimental candles of our relatives who had passed and just threw them in the box with no paper, no cushioning, nothing. I had trinkets from Dubai that were just thrown in as well. We had clothes that were on hangers in our closet that they just threw in a wardrobe box without even hanging. How lazy is that! They have filled boxes and barely used tape. We had most of our stuff taken to storage and upon going to storage we saw that most of the boxes were open because they barely use tape on any of them. Some boxes they didn't even use tape at all just folded the sides in within other. We had an 85 inch TV and two other larger ones and they didn't bring boxes to move any of them! Not only did they not bring the boxes they were unwilling to go and find the boxes to move our TVs. We had to wrap them with moving pads to try to secure them for the move! To top it off, the supervisor person towards the end of the day told us that they were "running out of time" based off their schedule and his guys needed to go. The house was not even fully packed up yet. The people left and we still had to pack our own boxes. About 10 to 15 overall. My husband called to speak to the original person who we spoke to to schedule the movers and he was supposed to give us a call back once he "investigated things". He never did. This company is not a professional moving company! They just have a couple guys in the office and a field supervisor. The rest are random laborers who have no experience with moving! BEWARE they are a moving BROKER NOT AN ACTUALLY MOVING COMPANY! Very disappointing that they took advantage of two seniors that are disabled. My father and his wife were moving from Michigan to Florida and came across Zoom Vanlines! Patrick and Mike at Zoom Vanlines will tell you what you want to hear to get you to go with them and then after the contract is signed they go against what they verbally said then they will change the contract. Like they said they would tow the car then a week before they were suppose to arrive they added an addition $1,100. They arrived at 4pm on the last day of the arrival window, with a Penske rental truck which their website states they have purchased high grade vehicles. The truck was suppose to be empty but was a quarter full of someone else’s stuff. The other people’s belongings was not even tied down nor did they have blankets or mattress covers on these items. The moving blankets were dirty and just thrown in the back. If you are showing up to a new job they should be clean and folded and stacked not tossed in the back! If this is how they treat blankets how will they treat your belongings! One of the gentleman would not get out of the truck as there was a dog however the dog was put in a room and he still refused. In the contract they were suppose to bring moving supplies (boxes etc) which they did not. Then they tried to add on an additional $4k as they said there was more than what was in the contract as they do not come out for estimates it is all over the phone. Then as we were calling the main office to discuss the changes they were smoking marijuana in the truck. The other gentlemen Jerry and his partner were contracted apparently own another moving by company and tried to get us to hire him. As we were not comfortable with how zoom Vanlines conducted themselves as well as not upholding their part of the contract (moving supplies and changing the rates significantly) we did not have them or Jerry move them! Well, for starters they are liars. I am glad I am NOT going with them for my move. I spoke with Mike over the phone yesterday and he gave me a GREAT quote and I was going to use them. He said he would send me my quote via email shortly to confirm. I never got the email. I follow up with them today and they send me the quote and it was $200 MORE plus extra fees in which I was told they had "no hidden fees". When I inquire about the significant difference, the answer I got was: "that quote was from days ago and unfortunately in the moving industry doesn't stay the same until the day the customer decides to schedule". See the picture attached. This company FAILED to send me the requested quote that was given verbally from Mike and then proceeds to change the price and then say that I am wrong. Terrible customer service and I do not recommend based on that alone. Read More
