This has been a terrible experience. They broke 3 pieces of very expensive furniture. They were careless, slow and the company has become unresponsive in making us even for the furniture they destroyed. Specifically, they lay marble table top (dining table for 8) carelessly against a secretary desk without any guard...it slipped and broke the desk, and the table also broke when it fell on the floor...the replace value for such a table is close to $10K. They are claiming that the table has no value because it was purchased back in 1994, so as per their model it has fully depreciated and are not responsible for replacing it. They offered a 100$ -- as a customer service gesture! If you value your furniture, your belongings and your house I highly recommend that you stay away from this company. They have cost me and my wife a great deal of stress and grief, plus a big monetary loss (I even tipped the guys trying to be nice as they promised that their company would take care of all the broken furniture)...and worst of all...they are unresponsive to our emails and requests ...and when they finally got back to us (3 weeks after the move) their great solution was to offer a credit of 250$...great, I may be able to buy new toaster with that...this is shameful. At the very least I would expect them to replace the broken furniture with similar items ..but $250 for a broken dining table, a chair from the dining table (now the set is broken / uneven) and a secretary desk is unacceptable... Came to our home and quoted us for our move. Day of, they cannot finish the move and need us to pay an additional $3,000 to finish. We went with this company because they were slightly cheaper than the others we received quotes from, but after they scammed us into paying the additional 3k, they ended up being the highest bid. We were told that "we had a choice at that point to go with another company." They're right, we did, but when you're closing on your house within the week, your move is scheduled - we trusted their original quote. Someone CAME TO OUR HOUSE and saw the rooms and items. We move states and receive our stuff, well most of it. We had a lot of missing items. Broken TV's, destroyed artwork, furniture with dents and dings in it. I had a brand new kids table that arrived missing screws, dented and now it wobbles. An entire watch box with over $5,000 in watches, rings, and sunglasses inside - missing. Horrible experience. To top it all off, they wanted a list of everything with evidence (not sure how I am supposed to provide picture evidence of every missing item). They then took only a few items, depreciated them, and made a small offer compared to what they were worth to re-purchase. For instance, our baby crib was completely missing a drawer, I sent a picture and they wouldn't credit that for us. My artwork was not addressed, pictures provided. Additionally, some of my proof from furniture that was ruined, they claimed was normal wear and tear. I continually asked questions about my missing items, damaged items and their end reply was "take it or leave it." I accepted and now they're done with me. I can't believe this happened to us and we paid $15,000 to a company only to be chewed up and spit out. Beware: Never, ever hire Two Men and a Truck company!!! HUGE disappointment does not even begin to cover it. Yesterday, I hired the Two Men and a Truck franchise for moving services. I had told the movers before they started moving anything, how much I love that painting and to please be careful with it because I painted it myself. I even left them with extra bubble wrap and stretch tape and told them to feel free to use for the painting. That was the first and only thing I had told the movers. When they showed up to my new apartment, the driver was crashing into the trees that even the employee at my residence had to shout at him. One of the movers told me they accidentally punctured two holes in my painting. I was devastated to say the least -- can't really put a value on my painting because I was emotionally attached to it, especially since it took me about SIX years to finish. As if the damage was not enough, they also punctured a gaping hole in my standing mirror. How they managed to do this is beyond me because I had wrapped it in bubble wrap and stretch to secure as much as possible. I would've done the same for my painting, but it was too heavy for me to even lift off the wall. I spoke with Julian (operations dispatch manager) and his boss Alan, both of whom were of no help to resolve my situation. Julian NEVER called me back. So, when I called the company again, I spoke with his boss Alan and he told me he'd give me "the red carpet treatment"... he basically told me to go pound sand and talk to a lawyer. Unacceptable.
