The team was very nice and seemed to enjoy working together. They followed given instructions well and asked how I wanted things setup. Unfortunately, that's where the positives stop. My furniture was damaged, corners should have been wrapped better. Several boxes were not labeled, so they ended up in random places that I had to move to unpack, and I'm still searching boxes in the house for my circular saw that should have been in a garage box. They made a pile of totes and things in the garage that I believed all came from our old garage, but some of it actually came from inside and I had to carry them upstairs. They put food from the pantry inside our laundry room trash to move it. They used tall hanging boxes with the hangers so I assumed our hanging clothes had been properly hung, but upon opening the boxes we found all of it (dresses, suits, a hanging jewelry holder included) had all just been shoved into the box and had shoes thrown on top of them. I spent over an hour pulling earings, rings, etc. out of clothes and the packing paper. I stayed behind at our old house after they left and realized they had left several things in the house. Our entire silverware drawer, a bathroom full of items (trash can, rug, shower curtains), all of the door mats, a plastic plant on the front porch, and all of their packing materials (tape, packing paper, extra boxes), all of which I had to find room for in the trash or my car. ***LONG BUT WORTH THE READ****PLEASE READ***** If I could give a negative review I certainly would. I do not recommend this moving service at all. The company my wife and I work for hired Armstrong to relocate my family’s belongings from San Antonio to North Texas. The movers came one day to pack and the next day to load our items in to their semi. We had a large house to pack, so there was a large crew to ensure it all got done timely. The movers were nice and seemed honest, but everything felt very rushed. The movers left our house in San Antonio on a Friday and we were told they’d meet us at our new house in north Texas the following Wednesday which they did. My wife and son were there to meet them. They unloaded all the boxes, furniture and set up the items that were disassembled. Upon assembling my son’s bed there was a leg missing to the bed, the movers then starting rifling through other boxes looking for it and couldn’t find and to this day still can’t find it. When I started to unpack the boxes I first noticed our Amazon echo boxes showed up minus the echos, just the empty boxes. Then as I started to unpack more of the items that were in our bedroom more and more items were missing. I am missing an iPad, iPod mini, a watch, two GoPros, my wife’s Apple Watch, tile trackers and who knows what else I can’t remember. I then started to unpack our loft and find that our Xbox is missing along with the controllers and other attachments for it. By this time I am very upset as anyone would be. My wife unpacked the kitchen and dining room and in those areas the missing items are a Google speaker, Netgear wifi extenders and a blink camera. In my garage I am missing parts to a large storage rack that without those parts the rack system is useless. This is not to mention items that were damaged and broken. I started doing research and apparently this isn’t the first time Armstrong has had issues like this. I decided to track the Amazon Echos through Amazon. Amazon customer service was able to tell me that one of the Echos had a hard factory reset three days after our items were picked up and then activated nine days later as “Joe’s Echo Dot”. Two people of the crew were named Joe, strong coincidence that it shows up as “Joe’s Echo Dot”. I decided to look through reviews after all this had happened and started to see that Dan Dailey was replying to the majority of the reviews and was leaving his phone number. I called him on a Thursday morning and explained everything I explained above. He sounded a bit taken back and asked me to write an email listing all the missing items, so I did. I received an email from Dan stating that this issue was being forwarded to Armstrong’s investigation department. I waited a week before I heard anything back before I wrote another email asking to be updated on the situation. Dan in a nut shell told me I was SOL and if I felt compelled to do so I should make a police report concerning the missing items because his crew does not recall the items in question. I am not sure how you the reader feels about this, but it disgusts me to know these people were let in to my house, around my wife and son and our personal belongings. To make matters worse the company wants to take zero responsibility for the actions of their workers. We have a walk through video of our loft down the morning before the movers arrived showing our Xbox in a cabinet along with controllers and other items, the other items around the Xbox arrived, but sadly the Xbox did not. On the video it also shows a play set from the movie cars belonging to my son, it was still new in the box, that item also did not show up when items were unpacked. We fed this crew during the three days they were packing, loading and unloading our items, not a big deal, but we did because we wanted to show our appreciation for their hard work, apparently hard work at stealing personal items from us. We also tipped them at the end after everything was unloaded. I am sure someone from Armstrong is going to get on here and try to make amends due to the horrible review. Dan the president of the company had a chance to do that and blew me off. Is this the type of company you want to do business with? Do you want your personal belongings stolen? Do you want to feel violated and taken advantage of while you’re trying to setup a new residence with your family? I would highly not recommend this company, stay far away. I will continue to post these reviews anywhere I can, talk to some friends at a San Antonio news agency, escalate this within our company, talk to law enforcement just for the sake of doing it and ensure other people aren’t violated and stolen from like my family and I were. The pictures are just an example of the total lack of respect given to my family and belongings during our move in June 2018. We hired United Van Lines / Armstrong to load and move our house. During the estimation phase, we were told we would fill an entire truck, which should have made the logistics of the move easy, since no other households would share the truck. On the packing day, the crew did not show up until late morning. They ran out of boxes and left about 5 hours later--never to return. The next day (loading day), the truck that showed up was partially full (not empty as specified and required). The driver and his crew attempted to finish packing. But we're unable to complete all packing, nor finish loading our household due to filling up the remaining space in the truck. They left around 10pm, leaving us with no idea when or if the remainder of our household would be loaded. This delay caused significant stress and additional costs due to the need to find hotels for the family while we attempted to sort out this mess. We eventually contacted someone at Armstrong, and a truck was sent to load the reminding goods and take them to the warehouse. Again, we were left with no idea when or if we would see our belongings. Let me stress that at no point in this entire ordeal were we ever contacted proactively by Armstrong or United Van Lines. After several days, we were finally able to get in contact with Armstrong to schedule delivery. They were unable to stay within the 'guaranteed' delivery window, and delayed receipt of our goods by an additional 2 weeks. Even then, the driver still showed up a day late, and around noon. Upon unloading, the driver informed his crew to dump our belongings in our garage and walk-in basement. The included pictures are just an indication of the disaster that was left in our new home. There is extensive damage and missing goods, and there are a lot of other details that I have left out. But, this review should paint the picture of how United Van Lines and Armstrong treat their customers. I cannot emphasize enough how much you should avoid Armstrong and United Van Lines. Read More
