Move HHG for the Navy from Ft Worth Tx to Newport RI. My Mother interacted with Hector Campa the represenrative. She said he was attentive, polite, took care with packing. He had to do two trips. 1. For packing 2. To pickup the moving truck and return. She was surprised that the company did not provide him with assistance because he had a 3 piece large sectional that he had to move. He did not ask for her assistance however she did help him move the pieces through the door, because no one person could do that alone with the flat dolly. That was not his fault. The HHG made it to its final destination and the delivering company of the HHG even complimented on the packing by Hector Campa. We really hope that this employee is appreciated!!! Thank you Hector! First, Mike G. did take time from his vacation to try to remedy the horrible situation. Unfortunately, as he stated (and I agree), there wasn't much he could do. Movers came Tuesday. Worked until 1. All left stating that had another job to do. The movers were supposed to pack 100% on Tuesday. They packed maybe 1/4 and loaded it onto the truck. The truck left and went who knows where. We were told by our customer service rep to meet the movers at the new home at 7 AM on Wednesday. 7 AM came and gone on our day off. They arrive at 7:50. They then unload and go back to the house to pack the rest. SIDE NOTE- in between, one of the female packers comes to our home and states her 13 month old baby is in the car. Needless to say, we asked her to leave. SIDE NOTE 2- on Tuesday, they used a 14 yo boy. Ok, back to Wednesday, I come home to a broken $300 frame. after emailing the company and our customer service rep failing to call us (despite the fact she promised the night before that she would promptly return our email), another crew came out. This crew was much better, but they were trying to clean up of the mess of the prior crew. I receive an email stating that the move will be done by 3:30. It is now 4:30, and we are not even close. We had to rent a u-haul and get a truck to do some of this move ourselves due to the incompetence of the company. I sit here waiting on them to finish ... to be continued.

In my experience Armstrong Relocation specializes in high-stress, poor-quality household moving.
I used Armstrong Relocation to move my household goods from Illinois to Texas. This was a one-man household so we are not talking about a lot of stuff. The entire shipment fit into a 10 by 20 mini storage area, yet Armstrong Relocation charged me $910 per month just to store it. When I stated that $910 sounded too high they informed me this price had already been discounted by 45%! When I discovered this "discounted" rate was actually 5 times higher then the local mini storage I moved everything out of Armstrong.
And speaking of hidden fees - prior to storing my shipment Armstrong never disclosed they would charge $75 per hour just for me to get access to my property. Nor did they tell me to expect over $600 in "handling fees". If they had disclosed this at the start I would not have allowed them to store it.
When you embark on an interstate relocation the mover is required by law to provide you with documentation explaining your rights. Armstrong did not do that. Overall I have found Armstrong Relocation to be deceptive and incompetent. At the start of my move they quoted me $1105 for delivery and one month of storage. In fact, delivery was $1777 plus $910 for one month of storage.
Chances are you will encounter problems with any moving company - but what separates the good from bad is how they handle it. I used the Better Business Bureau to bring my complaints to the attention of Armstrong management. Rather than seeking some sort of compromise they just blew me off.
