This is the absolute worst moving company that I have ever used. I am a 20-year military service member and have had to move over a dozen times and have only had minor damages to my HHGs. I've been lucky, but my luck ran out when Suddath was assigned as my moving company. These so-called "professional movers" managed to break my 2,800-dollar TV that traveled from Hawaii to Jacksonville in its original packaging. All they had to do is install a base and place it on an entertainment center and they managed to mess that up. I get it the movers make mistakes and things happen but there is no excuse for their military claims department. They finally responded to our claim 59 days after we reported the TV. The first offer was an absolute slap in the face. They offered me 1200 dollars and suggested that I replace my TV with another model of TV that was at least 4 levels below the quality of the one their team broke. I sent them a rebuttal with all receipts, pictures, and information on the TV and info from Samsung on their suggested equivalent replacements for the TV. Almost 40 days later I finally got an actual offer. They found the exact TV through some Amazon third party that I never heard of. I looked up the reviews for the seller and all of the actual reviews said that customers either did not receive their TVs at all or there were major issues upon delivery and that their customer service is nonexistent. I expressed my concerns with Suddath and they basically told me that I was wrong and that my concerns were not valid. I wasted 3 months trying to settle my claim with Suddath and ultimately had to transfer my claim elsewhere. AVOID USING SUDDATH! Regarding the Goods Themselves: Many items: some high value and sentimental included on the claim, were not received by us (such as my great great grandmother's antique bed and windchimes from her funeral) Many items were not inventoried which we did receive. We also received items that were not ours and sent those back on the truck. The unpackers can attest to the lack of inventory and missing items. All items with a yellow tag were not inventoried and were items I had to call Planes Movers to come back and pick up after the initial packing date. All yellow stickers were put on after the orange and blue original stickers and therefore not inventoried or scanned. Almost all boxes were labeled incorrectly and didn't contain any of the content notated (when a notation was even made). On the inventory Items such as "Refrigerator, Stove, Dressers...and more) were recorded as having come from the living room or garage... Additionally, 48 boxes and crates were packed with no padding or wrapping: meticulously sorted and organized content of drawers, cabinets, vanities, toolboxes etc. were unceremoniously dumped into the boxes...This included opened items of liquid food such as oil, vinegar, syrup etc., chemicals (Ammonia and bleach were packed together), and beauty products. Despite having labeled items not to be packed with a yellow post-it sticker, they were packed. Including all the prescription medication, OTC, the purse I was using with my ID and Debit Card etc. (Things you said not to pack anyway so why did they touch it) The Furniture was not covered, wrapped, padded, or in any way protected...point blank none. Items were stacked directly on top of and in contact with other items accounting for most of the damage which is chipping, scraping, rubbing, dried out and cracked from being stored in a high heat environment, and separation of joints. Some items were obviously improperly handled as tops and sides were separated or completely off. There was extensive damage to our almost brand-new range and some to our also almost new refrigerator - the full reimbursement was denied as Suddath deemed these useable. However, it is the expectation that no damage will come to these items, and I would have returned them to the store if they were received in this condition or they were damaged in this manner during the installation. This is why full reimbursement was requested. Regarding the Moving Services: The movers were late during the departure by at least 2 hours...including both packing and loading days, incredibly slow, and did not know how to pack or label as expected by a professional moving company. We had to have them repack a few boxes we opened as they were very poorly packed. These were discovered when looking for my purse; the one I was using, which they had packed. This was not located, and I had no debit, credit, DL, or military ID for nearly 3 weeks. We did not check additional boxes but upon opening at least 48 of them upon arrival at our destination address they were packed in the same manner, including the boxes I asked to be repacked. The packers did not properly label almost any boxes. They were misidentified as to contents and room. Many items on the "No Pack" list were packed and leaked. We had to have Planes return to our home the next day as they forgot several items that were to be included in the move. The destination movers (Gulf Moving) held our items 2 full weeks after we were notified by the government they had arrived at the destination. (Proof available) The movers on the destination end didn't show up on our designated day and blamed Suddath for not releasing the paperwork, which was a blatant lie, as the emails Suddath sent were staring everyone in the face. The destination moving company "no-showed" on the agreed upon date of delivery. To add to this unprofessional behavior, it is documented that we had continuous contact with the company, beginning with an email from them with the delivery date and many times between the no show and receipt of our goods. Again, the company representatives who spoke to Suddath denied they had any contact with us despite our retention of the emails, voice mails, and phone log. Even after the company showed up, they were unprofessional and unorganized (the management, not the direct workers), understaffed, and didn't know we had at least two trucks (probably a third) or the total weight of our goods...stating their paperwork showed 1 truck and only 4500 pounds...again a lie because Suddath had the originating emails and paperwork they received. Find someone else and failing that, try building a giant slingshot to launch your things across the country. In that case, your stuff will still arrive broken, but at least the slingshot would be fun to use. After reading a number of other reviews, I should add some detail to help clarify my complaints. For starters, it's worth pointing out that mine is another military move. I still haven't received a settlement from the company (8 months later) and they denied my claim on a set of rare books packed improperly and damaged during the move (I was literally told that they are old books and I should expect them to have some wear and tear). In terms of packing, the company arrived with improper materials. I have a large collection of books, a point made explicit by the pre-move inspector (as in, "you have a lot of books so we'll need to make certain that we have a lot of book boxes"). The packers arrived without any book boxes--not a single one. As a result, many of our books were packed into oversized boxes and improperly at that. They also did not have any television boxes for my two flat screen televisions. Instead, they packed the two of them into a motorcycle box. Prior to the move, I called Suddath to complain about the state of the packing in general and the televisions in particular. The representative from the company informed me that "I could just file a claim if anything were broken." It's worth noting that it took me several days of phone calls to even get in contact with someone at the company, which has been a consistent problem throughout this move. The company has made clear that many of their difficulties this past summer were a result of not having enough drivers available. I wish I had been so fortunate. All of my problems have been the result of Suddath having a driver available for my move. Read More

Don't waste your money. We had a local move with storage. Should not have been a big deal. As it turns out, it was. Our belongings were loaded neatly onto the truck by a very polite and careful crew. They get 5 stars. We were led to believe that the load was going to the storage facility and would be loaded just as professionally into crates the next day. That didn't happen. They offloaded the truck to a space on the floor where it sat for weeks. Then it was loaded into crates. When the crates arrived, it was the most unbelievable experience. They had heavy furniture on top of chairs. Heavy boxes were stored on top of lamp shade boxes. Furniture was gouged.Boxes were crushed. The offloading crew said that the warehouse crew just "threw stuff into the crates." Throughout the process, the sales people and customer service reps were the most unhelpful, nonresponsive I've ever encountered. The one good thing? They paid the claim. First off I will state that this was a military move and that I was assigned this company and told that they were trustworthy. I wish I would have read reviews on here first. I will do everything in my power to ensure that none of my friends ever have to go through what I've been through with this company. I wish I could say something positive here, as I hate being negative but I truly have no option in this case. I can't believe that they would treat customers with the limited respect that they have let alone a military member who is forced into moving in the first place. Overall, this is a cheap company who does not treat your belongings like their own, who screens their calls and emails so they do not have to respond to you when you try to get a hold of them to get answers to questions about how they made mistakes; and lastly, refuses to take the high road and pay the full amount for damages that they have done unless you decide to take more time out of your day to meet them and a demo crew to watch them destroy and haul off all of your items that you trusted to them in the first place. I had the worst moving experience ever with this company. I would have much rather rented a UHaul and done all the transportation myself. My goods were transported in large sealed boxes between Texas and Florida, therefore they supposedly were supposed to be handled relatively gently. This was a relatively small move for ones that Id imagine this company handles (Desk, bed, Couch, love seat, recliner, coffee tables, and kitchenware along with a dresser and clothing). in all the items totaled less than 4,000 lbs gross weight. It took them 2 weeks to complete a trip that I drove myself in less than 12 hours. However, it wasn't the wait that I was displeased with. When my goods arrived out of their sealed boxes, several pieces of furniture had severe 1-2 foot long gouges in them that were about ¼" deep. In addition, a panel of my desk had been stacked under so much pressure that a 1.5 foot crack had been broken into one of the sides. In the essence of time, I will not list other small cosmetic damages that my goods incurred during transit except for a 4 square inch hole that had been torn into the side of my 2 day old leather couch. I did my research and followed all the claim procedures with the company while claiming a fair replacement value WITH RECEIPTS only to have them come back and say that they were only going to pay 75% of the replacement cost of my furniture unless I was willing to let them hire a salvage crew, come pick up and destroy the damaged furniture; at which point they would then pay me the 100% replacement value for my furniture. In addition, the claims representative was in such a hurry of getting through the process that they misread some paperwork and refused to pay me even a cent for the couch that they had gouged a huge hole into. After trying to call and email multiple representatives and claims adjusters over the course of 2-3 months, I was unable to get a response from suddath while trying to explain that there must be a mistake in regards to them not paying me for the couch that they totaled. finally on the third month, I had had enough and called the operator 4-5 times and refused to stop calling until I got someone on the line. Ironically the adjustor that I had been trying to call for 4-5 times and kept getting a voicemail, picked up the phone when I told the receptionist that I was going to keep calling until I got someone on the line. After a quick 5 minute explanation of how the claims paperwork must have been read incorrectly, I sent the adjustor some additional pictures and the whole matter was settled and a check was sent to me (only for the 75% replacement value mind you because I refuse to have the burden put on me to go out and try to find as good of furniture deals that I had found when I originally bought my pieces. I'll start out by saying i'm only leaving one star because there is no option to leave it without any. This 'company' is a joke. To summarize; No communication, terrible customer service skills, a nightmare of a PCS From start to finish our move was a disaster, if I had known any better about moving with the military I would have spoken up in the very beginning. Our TSP, Sasha G., had very little knowledge as to what was actually going on with any of our belongings. She nor anyone else at the company was very aware as to who was picking our things up, when, and where it was going. According to her at the time, this was 'normal' because it was 'off season' to PCS and while she had first told us a driver and truck would arrive and load our stuff to leave same day, she soon changed that to different groups of people packing/loading our items into wooden crates (that were not able to hold everything) and off to one of their storage units. Again, not able to tell us what storage facility or where for how long, but to storage because they are unfortunately waiting on the truck driver to come and get it. (They didn't have anyone assigned to actually move us when they took over the contract). 201628OCT I wish I could say our interaction with any of the crew that loaded or packed our things were any better, but it was not. They were rushed, frustrated, and even broke our front door as they shoved our sofa through and did not acknowledge it until I pointed out that I witnessed it happening. There was no apology and very little communication. They did not have any information to leave us with either. Without guidance and this being our first move, unaware of the 'norm', we signed the inventory papers and they left with everything.(Even what items didn't fit, attached with tie downs, uncovered, on top of the crates on their truck). Fast forward to us arriving at our new home in South Carolina 201607NOV, Sasha had fallen off the face of the earth and was no longer returning phone calls or emails. I started reaching out to anyone at the company, as well as resources here at the new base. Before Sasha ever got back to us we received a call from the truck driver himself on the Friday 201611NOV on his personal phone. He was calling to let us know that he had picked up our things, but had another job he was assigned to that needed to be done on Sunday in Florida. Our new ETA was for Monday 201614NOV. Another drawn out weekend of no communication, no basic living essentials with an infant and large dog, but we were excited to finally have a date and know that our belongings had even been picked up in the first place! Monday comes and no one arrives. I call the phone number of the driver and he answered to let me know that unfortunately he was still delayed because the job in Florida was taking a little longer and to expect him the next day (Tuesday) Tuesday;Nothing. It is now Wednesday 201616NOV, the truck finally arrives! Our belongings come off of the truck scattered, not all in boxes as original packing was done, some larger items are wrapped, some are not. While I tried to mark off everything that was coming into our house, it again was rushed. We received several things that our not ours, though they have our inventory colored stickers on them just in numbers that exceeded what our list went to. There was no organization and most of our furniture was damaged. First off, they changed schedules after we agreed so me and my husband had to move earler than we were expecting.. ALSO This company's workers TOOK/BROKE ALOT OF MY SHITS. I had bonch of stockpiles and they took ALOT of those items and MISSING worth of about $400 or so.. BRAND NEW HAT IS MISSING...PLUS smashed stand lamp, scrutches ans small hole on table, couches, organizer and etc... of corse I claimed about it and they offered me only $300... FOUND AN EMPTY PACKAGE AS WELL when I was unpacking... I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THE HELL THIEF HAS A JOB TO WORK?! CRIMINAL SHOULD GO TO JAIL!! they were lucky I didnt call police coz I would call police if my husband didnt accept their offer.(He accepted their offer without asking me even its my stockpile) BE CAREFULL IF YOU HAVE ALOT OF STUFF BC THEY MIGHT TAKE YOURS...
