We were in a pinch to move quickly for my husbands job, called many movers and Southbay had the best value of them all. Maribeth provided top notch customer service while giving estimates and arranging the move. She really went above and beyond! Brandon, the mover that assisted us, assured an easy move and put my family at ease about the whole situation. We were checked in on consistently and impressed with everyone involved. This moving company broke my heart. They broke valuable family heirlooms. My grandmas antique mirror, an old rum runners bottle- they smashed a beloved wall art piece into pieces ( and wrapped the pieces!) They used all paper, no bubble wrap. Ridiculous! They cracked many ceramic decorative bowls!. Go elsewhere for your move! Run!! This was a nightmare!!! Read More

The two crews that handled our military move:
Packers were led by Jose who was professional but did not keep his word and allow us to be present or FaceTime for all weigh ins per our request who h is required in the contract. He did not mark abything professional gear as requested which may cost us thousands of dollars yet he didn’t care when we asked him to correct it and he said he would but didn’t. The packers didn’t mark all the boxes, spelled our name wrong, and actually purposely broke items to fit them into the boxes(broke in half) such as wrapping paper-done by the new guy James. Patrick and Jose did a great job packing items as nothing broke that they packed up. But many of the items and boxes were not numbered or on the inventory making the firepit they broke nearly impossible to claim-they didn’t wrap this hardly at all! They also broke pieces off our bed frame completely, which also wasn’t labeled so will be hard to claim. That is why they lost a star-the packing crew also said they only thought we had 9k lbs which we ended up over 14k like we told them would happen because we looked like we didn’t have much but the garage was packed-which they knew and saw. They also only worked half days on our two packing days which should have been full days so they ended up working extra on the moving day. They tried to say they would come back another day but i explained we would be in another state the following day so they finished begrudgingly while the crew walked around complaining they were hungry like i was supposed to buy them lunch and it was my fault they were hungry.

He literally may have broken his foot and he kept trying to work through it. He refused to leave until the job was over. He is a five star employee. Nigel hustled the whole day and made sure our paperwork was on point, corrected the mistake from the packing guys for our professional gear who h may have saved us thousands and made sure every item damaged was documented. He even took special care with my Christmas ornaments when I explained I was a Christmas person and he saw they hadn’t been packed right so they were all over the truck on delivery and some broke. We are grateful for both of these employees and these two would get five stars for sure. The contractors showed up and we didn’t get their names but the one in charge of assembling worked quick but carefully in making sure he got everything done right. Somehow these two damaged our wall coming around the corner with furniture though and we didn’t notice until after we signed the paperwork saying it was fine but it was also an extremely long day because the contractors didn’t get there until the afternoon due to car trouble. Update: The owner Mario called today and didn’t realized he was on speaker with both my husband AND me and started off the conversation with a sexist comment about how he called my husband because of the negative review of the company because “sometimes the ladies just get mad.” I immediately corrected him about his comment and my husband said “that was both of us leaving that review” his tone immediately changed when he realized I was on the phone as well(as we were in the car) and my husband was not tolerating his boys club attitude. He wanted to “expedite” any claims process essentially saying he wanted to fix any broken items(but you can’t fix what they broke including the tv etc) as if he wanted to avoid any claim we made with the navy knowing it would impact their relationship with them since they told us they solely do military moves now. it also seems to be a pattern that Mario refuses to deal with the women in the household from the multiple women I have spoken to dealing with this company. I couldn’t be more impressed with the service of Southbay Moving Systems. Miguel, Alberto Jr., and Peter were professional and communicative throughout the whole process. They cared for my items like they were their own and spent extra time ensuring all my valuables were packed properly and safely. We had our pack out and move completed by these guys, and boy are we glad we did. They were very professional and work efficiently. I was able to relax in an otherwise stressful time (PCS move). Miguel was a gem, but the other fellas (Emmanuel, Guzman, and Oscar) were pretty great, too. They were very gracious to our kids and super friendly. We are military and they helped us do our move from Chula Vista, Ca to Medical Lake, Wa. When they arrived, it was on time. The crew was nice. However towards the end of the packing they decided to leave two TVs mounted so we had a way to entertain the kids. Little did we know, that wasn't allowed. They didn't leave the movers packing paper or boxes for the TVs. They had a mover ( not the packer) help me pack up one last small box. I had some watches in it, a brand new pair of women's tennis shoes in the box bc I just bought them. He talked me into just tossing the shoes into the box. I also had some keep sale items for the kids and my electric tooth brush. When the gentleman went to throw it in the truck he didn't tag it or tape it up. He assured me it will get up to Washington for us and he will seal it properly . Needless to say the box never arrived to my home in Washington. Along with the screws to our bunk bed for the kids. My beach cruiser bicycle. One of the loaders didn't want to put a tag on my bicycle. Luckily , another guy told him he has to... but once I heard him question about putting a tag on my bike, I knew I wouldn't be seeing that again. Some wall home decor. They misplaced the screws and a wooden piece for our cal king bed frame. So we had to sleep on the mattress on the floor when we got home. They put tape directly on our personal items which we learned is a No, No when we arrived in Washington from one of their inspectors. Now we are being told they have 6-9 months to locate our missing items and for us to get some sort of compensation if items not found. I don't want compensation, I want our items found. Makes you wonder who took them, who misplaced them and where is everything at now. I had a custom made sign from my kids out of wood and that was damaged. Bookshelf's broken. Glass in pictures broken as well. They also didn't pack everything up properly. We wanted to bring our new garden hose from Cali and apparently is has to be drained out and drying overnight so the movers wouldn't load. The packers left behind some items that I had to load into my personal vehicle bc they ran out of packing. Luckily I had my vehicle there still and they didn't mind transporting it with extra weight. Once they were all done packing up, they were so eager to get us to write a review for their boss to see so they get bonus points with their boss vs letting us see how it all went on the other side. My husband did leave a review with five stars but it shouldn't be there and he regrets posting it so fast for them. It's a pain trying to get in touch with anyone to help us search for our missing items and it's already been a month. This is my first military move with my spouse and I was greatly disappointed. Our speakers got damage, I reached out to them through email. Still not answer. Our tv has a line and it looks like it got damage too.
