I decided to proceed any way, moving is stressful and I wanted it over with. Upon delivery, 6 days later, my items showed up and it looked as though they have been through a war. I had specifically given S&S my largest and most expensive items to pack themselves, thinking hey leave it to the professionals... welp, my $3000 bed is damaged, my $2000 couch is black with dirt, my $5000 dresser is dented and scratched my $1000 shelf is smashed and unsalvageable, my bicycle is scratched and broken. Fragile and irreplaceable items such as old china and glassware given to me by my grandparents before they died - etched with their initials - smashed. What a nightmare. THE WORST MOVING COMPANY I HAVE DEALT WITH!!! DO NOT HIRE THEM PLEASE! On April 3 2023 I contacted "Solomon & Sons Relocation Services". On May 11th we did a Video Call with Jase Soffer so he can do an estimate for my moving. He reassured me that their moving company was completely different to other companies as they were not a broker. He mentioned that he would be 200% available on that day. -he reassured me that their estimates are extremely accurate and ALWAYS do the estimate HIGHER. Jordan Rozenfeld contacted my husband and they set a price for 1,900 Cb ft for $11,000 with everything gas and taxes included ($5,75 per cubic feet with a $2,293.75 discount ). We decided to sell our 6 piece sectional couch + 6 dining chairs which will translate on 220 cubic feet less. on the day of the moving i was alone with my baby at home and the truck driver IGOR arrived, making a new estimate on what he saw. New estimate was 2000 cubic ft, new price $12500. This was confusing as we had 220 cubic ft less than the original, he wanted to charge $250 bulking fee for each of my gym equipment (3) that was already listed on the quote that needed to be moved by Jason and never was mentioned that there was a bulking fee. He was very rude and started yelling at me and even threatened to leave while i had my baby in my arms, Jason of course as i suspected disappeared on that day. I was able to speak to Amanda who i never spoke before ( she was really rude too) and she did not want to honor the price that was given and suggested that i had more stuff like i went shopping yesterday for house furniture. I wasted my time talking to her and she wanted to charge me a waiting fee. Finally Jason contacted us and transfer us to his Manager Giovanny. We tried to explain to Giovanny that the virtual tour was done by Jason, that the quote was given of what he saw, that we did not add up anything and that we only put our things into boxes, that we sold some of our furniture to reduce to cubic feet and the price, and that it seems excessive that from 1680 cubic feet ( $10800 ) we go up to 2000cubic feet ($13000), for which he was very rude and condescending about us not understanding his "moving math" and and finally told us " would you like to continue or not? simple yes or no ?, which was easy for him as if we said NO we lose the deposit of $3800. Also there was discrepancies between his price and the drivers price, it felt like they just want to take advantage of the situation and charge us as much as possible. On the delivery date Igor the driver was still very rude and disrespectful to me when my husband was not around, I had a few incidents that day. The persons he hired were very nice people (did not work for his company) were trying to throw away the cartons that the moving company wrapped the furniture with and IGOR came back upstairs with all the cartons and throw it next to my door yelling at me that it was my garbage and he wont throw it away, he did not notice that i was talking to my husband on the phone. Even when the 2 movers told me they don't have any problem taking the garbage out as they always do it with the other companies that hire them. My husband told IGOR "your are very disrespectful to my wife, YOU DON'T YELL AT WOMEN" At the end when the move was over, my husband signed the papers and the driver Igor passive aggressively grabbed the hand of my husband for 2 minutes pretending to apologize and would not let go of his hand and my husband had to told him " let go of my hand now". In conclusion Solomon and sons provides an estimate over a virtual meeting which was purposely inaccurate just to earn my business. Their price on the moving day went over 30% more of the initial estimate, hiding fees that they not inform until the day of the move, there was no change in my furniture, in fact, i sold some of them, they have very disrespectful staff towards women, they obviously and purposely underestimate to win the business, do not care about being fraudulent and prey on the desperation of the stress of moving day Read More

We tried to explain to Giovanny that the virtual tour was done by Jason, that the quote was given of what he saw, that we did not add up anything and that we only put our things into boxes, that we sold some of our furniture to reduce to cubic feet and the price, and that it seems excessive that from 1680 cubic feet ( $10800 ) we go up to 2000cubic feet ($13000), for which he was very rude and condescending about us not understanding his "moving math" and and finally told us " would you like to continue or not? simple yes or no ?, which was easy for him as if we said NO we lose the deposit of $3800. So now, I'm taking advantage of the vacuum sealed storage they offer while my new homes renovations are completed. It's all really been a smooth and easy experience and would highly recommend. Assuming that all my stuff gets out of storage to my new house and looks like it did when it left, I'd give the folks 6 stars if it was possible! Best money you can spend is on a good mover! I had no idea a small move could cost SO much and be so awful. I had them move 30 medium to small boxes and two pieces of furniture and not only did it cost a fortune but the damage they did and refused to take responsibility cost me THOUSANDS of dollars. 2 boxes arrived SOAKING wet and still pooled with water causing all the designer bags inside to be growing mold. When I tried to file a claim they insisted that water damage and mold weren't covered leaving me completely at a loss. They also took items like a TV apart (removed from stand) and didn't leave me the screws. They snapped both water bottle holders off my peloton and it came to me dirty. I had no idea a small move could cost SO much and be so awful. I had them move 30 medium to small boxes and two pieces of furniture and not only did it cost a fortune but the damage they did and refused to take responsibility cost me THOUSANDS of dollars. 2 boxes arrived SOAKING wet and still pooled with water causing all the designer bags inside to be growing mold. When my movers arrived, they were wearing shirts for a company I'd never heard of, then had me sign a check to a third company I'd never heard of. I managed to get the number for the person actually in charge of that company, when I called him he said, "who is your broker? ohh yeah, Solomon and Sons -extremely late -less guys than promised (for hours it was "another guy is coming" but nope) -broke a glass door -got the truck stuck for 30 minutes on my residential street, blocking traffic -kept moving the arrival window, promised to shrink it from 3 days then changed it to 5 days -did not have enough room for my things in the truck and had to come back two days later! These guys really screwed me over. I have to say that I have had the absolute best experience with this moving company. Jeremiah Jovi Chadly and Serano showed up on time as expected. They wrapped everything very well and were very careful with all of our belongings. You can see that they cared and took pride in their work. Though I was notified in advance, I of course, was stuck with additional charges for cubic feet, packing materials and not being able to get the truck up to my residence to unload my belongings. I expected the additional charges on packing material, somewhat expected them on the cubic feet but not for an additional truck and labor for unloading as I tried to describe in detail my property and was assured they could get a truck up the driveway- no problem they do it all the time.. Funny how they were able to bring extremely large poured concrete walls up the same drive when building my home... I was told the person giving the estimate doesn't drive trucks, well neither do I. I pretty much feel I was told what I wanted to hear in order to get the contract. And as for all that great packing, well so far I have two broken lamps, 2 broken planters and a messed up file drawer. I still have kitchen boxes yet to open with all my dishes.... Fortunately I was smart enough to bring the fine China and sentimental fragile items myself. Avoid Solomon & Sons at all cost! What a dishonest, fraudulent, unethical, irresponsible company. These were not typical moving issues, this was NEGLIGENCE. These were all controllable things that were negligent of Solomon & Sons. I was moving out of state and they assured me that they would be the ONLY company moving my belongings, pick up and delivery. Not only was that a lie but the company that showed up with MISSING and DAMAGED belongings only had one person show up in a truck and try to extort an additional $1000 from me because he said he would need a "shuttle" truck as he couldn't get near my building with a semi. My building is in a mixed use complex with a grocery store and can accommodate two semi trucks side by side right in front of my door! Once I got him to agree to unload, he then called random people in the area to see who would show up to help him unload which only one person did. This was not a "lets hire a few guys to move me" type move where you pay a few hundred dollars. This was a $4000 out of state move. Not stacking heavy boxes on boxes marked fragile that were crushed, that's controllable. Doing whatever was done that caused many of my boxes to be ripped apart, that's controllable. Not stacking 20 boxes on a dolly several boxes too high so that they fall off while pushing is controllable. Bringing a door stopper so that when you go to push send cart inside and not crash and topple boxes, that's controllable. Not peeing on the floor, that's controllable. Putting the boxes in the rooms that they go to, controllable. Unpacking the TV that they were supposed to do and not leaving furniture on their sides, controllable. They also tried to extort an additional $200 because he didn't have a way to properly measure the distance to my front door from the elevator and was using an iphone app that he said wasn't working. I called immediately when the truck arrived to alert them to the issues with my destroyed belongings and at the attempted extortion and I never received a callback. Then I sent an email later that night letting them know that one of their movers URINATED ON MY FLOOR. Someone should have been at my house, same day, cleaning the bathroom. And then the next day someone should've been sent here to move the boxes to where they were supposed to go, unpack and set up the furniture and TV like they were supposed to. None of that happened. Avoid Solomon & Sons at all cost! What a dishonest, fraudulent, unethical, irresponsible company. These were not typical moving issues, this was NEGLIGENCE. These were all controllable things that were negligent of Solomon & Sons. I was moving out of state and they assured me that they would be the ONLY company moving my belongings, pick up and delivery. Not only was that a lie but the company that showed up with MISSING and DAMAGED belongings only had one person show up in a truck and try to extort an additional $1000 from me because he said he would need a "shuttle" truck as he couldn't get near my building with a semi. My building is in a mixed use complex with a grocery store and can accommodate two semi trucks side by side right in front of my door! Once I got him to agree to unload, he then called random people in the area to see who would show up to help him unload which only one person did. This was not a "lets hire a few guys to move me" type move where you pay a few hundred dollars. This was a $4000 out of state move. Updated, see Delivery nightmare Pick up: The Solomon & Sons team showed up as scheduled and we had the most wonderful professionals to work with. They took their time and carefully took care to wrap each item and strategically use all of the available space to most efficiently expedite our move. Our move was not an easy one. We have very bulky items, lots of big furniture and glass. The team did not skip a beat. I'm incredibly grateful that we found such an impeccable professional moving team. All of our questions were answered and the team was extremely patient. Thank you, again! Delivery: First of all, Solomon and Sons advertised this to me as all employees were Solomon and Sons employees. They were not. For a nearly 6 person job, we get just 2 for delivery. They were here for nearly 12-13 hours. The other local helper that they were supposed to hire was a no show. These guys worked hard but it was just not enough. Concerns: Why wasn't a much larger crew hired? I paid for a crew, not two guys. I feel cheated and misled. I will expect the scratches to be fixed by Solomon and Sons. 3) multiple items were damaged. 1) my 3700.00 entertainment center bridge was snapped. 2) my guest room bed was missing bolts(Solomon and sons lost) 3) the wood drawer for under the bed was split(damaged) 4) My brand new coffee table was damaged (legs, sides) 5) my desk was scratched Additionally, In addition to all of that, I paid for full disassembly and reassembly. The guy (driver) they sent was so exhausted by the end, things that were disassembled were left and not reassembled. I will expect reimbursement of these items not being reassembled. Trash: All the packing material that was wrapped around the furniture they delivered was left here, I have a garage filled with bubble wrap, Solomon and Sons boxes etc. We were told by the driver that the trash stays here. Now I have to rent a truck and dispose of it myself because it's a huge pile that normal trash will not pick up. I will be updating this review as I discover more things damaged, I'm sure as I unbox the squished boxes of stuff. So many of my boxes I had Solomon and Sons deliver were squished or broken. There is no telling what damage is waiting for me. I'm extremely disappointed and pissed off. I will be filing a report with the Florida consumer office and Pennsylvania as well as the federal level for deceptive practices. This company was great! After reading about the moving industry in general, we wete a might concerned. Our rep, Chris, was professional and pleasant at the front end. After getting quotes from 3 companies, we felt secure with Solomon. Even when we felt nervous about our quote, Chris came back out at our beckoned call and alleviated some of our anxiety. The loaders (4) were efficient and took special care in wrapping and handling our possessions. So I recently used S&S relocation for my move to North Dakota and had an honest and real moving experience. Now let me just say I'm a lifelong yelper and I pay close attention two other people's experiences before I have any type of service. And especially on Yelp Irene some of the company responses because I know some people will go out of their way to write something harmful just because they did not get it their way, whether they are right or wrong in the situation. When I read their reviews I was mainly confident but of course there were the couple that we're not as great. But when I read the companyresponse it did make to me, especially now that I know they are a logical group of people who run a fair and reasonable operation. I know personally from the insurance industry that you can't satisfy everyone every time becacause people are different and have different expectations, realistic or not. I knew they were a real company when I read the Company response on one of the few negative reviews I saw and they simply accepted responsibility for the particular issue that happened with thus move and apologized to the client and Apperantly offered restitution of like $2500 to compensate the guy for what ever went wrong. As far as my experience, I started working with john Phillips originally and his knowledge of his work field was above and beyond most of the other cheesy guys I got a call from. He sounded legitimately interested in helping me figure out my moving dilemma (which really was a dilemma because the logistics were just as crazy anr unorganized in my move as they are in the rest of my life) and he wasn't just selling me and bashing his competition. Since then I dealt with monica who also is just awesome and even the owner whos a really down to earth guy got involved to help me solve my logistiwith the way I was treated like a person or a friend and how they handled the few issues that did come up. The actual physical part of the move where they guys came wrapped all the furniture crated all the glass etc was flawless and to keep my review of the experience honest I will say basically the only issue I had was a bit of a delay on the delivery but to their defense, it was since tlexplained clearly to me that deliveries to north dakota take longer than most other places because the average person doesnt move there and me thinking that my stuff was supposed to just go on the truck thAt day and be sent straight to north dakota was not the case. I do wish that maybe it was explained to me what the worst case scenario might be as far as how long it could take to deliver, but hey I did read the contract as I always do and I did see the worst case on there so idk all I can say is great job guys and 4.99 stars (if that's a thing) Read More

I've always moved myself but this time I decided to hire a moving company to do it the "easy way". I saw the reviews for Solomon and Sons and all the pictures and thought "these guys seem great". My dealings were similar to other negative reviewers. I first heard from Leo, then mostly Monica. I had about a week scheduled for the move which was reasonable for a D.C. to FL move. The truck was supposed to arrive on Saturday. Saturday morning I got a text from the driver that he had broken down the day before and would not be able to make it. He said customer service would contact me shortly. They did not. My voicemails were not returned. When the truck arrived 3 days late it was not what you see in the pictures, but instead a 26' Enterprise rental truck with a company magnet on the door. The movers were not the happy, uniformed men in the photos. They were tired and grumpy, wearing sweat shorts and tank tops. It took them 13 hours to load a 2 bedroom apartment. If I wanted to spend 13 hours loading a rental truck I could have saved a couple thousand dollars. The company then got cranky about me wanting delivery by Friday (from Tuesday). The deadline hadn't changed, only they were late picking up. I made the drive in one day, why couldn't they? They finally showed up Saturday just after midnight and unloaded until 4. I had a flight Saturday morning so that was the only option. I don't mind spending a lot of money for quality service. This was far from quality service. Awful experience. Initially I was very happy when I booked with them. On move day, I was told they would arrive between 1-5, didn't show up until 630 after I called several times asking where they were. Walked through what stuff needed to be moved twice and once they were gone realized they left 2 items upstairs. The price also went up 500. Was told they would schedule pick up of the 2 left items,but there was no follow up. Was told my stuff would arrive on Monday or Tues but shipment didn't even leave Florida till Mon. I did receive a call from the driver stating they were having mechanical issues which was nice. Again was told stuff would arrive on Thurs but of course that got postponed. On Friday, confirmed delivery for Sun at 8am. On sat called driver and was told this was not possible anymore and would be next tues now. There was no follow up unless I called them. I told the driver I would pay him an extra 200 bucks out of my pocket if they delivered Sunday morning as we had originally planned. Driver showed up Sunday at 4pm, completely rude. I had even asked the security guard to accompany me bc I did not feel safe around driver. Asked to see my place for no reason. Even the security guard was astonished, then I realized this was because he hadn't told the other members of his crew about the extra money. He kept saying he had rented the truck from his friend and it was going to cost me more than 200 ( mind you, I'm already paying 300 in these extra shuttle fees.) The driver rudely told me to go to the ATM for his money as he was going to get some food. The other 2 team members with him were great though. They stated that this was not the case and the truck was free. In the meantime the driver kept calling, I did not answer. Once he gets back he again comes up to my condo and asks for his money. I said finish the job and we will see. I ask him to go downstairs bc there's no need for him to be upstairs. Awful experience. Initially I was very happy when I booked with them. On move day, I was told they would arrive between 1-5, didn't show up until 630 after I called several times asking where they were. Walked through what stuff needed to be moved twice and once they were gone realized they left 2 items upstairs. The price also went up 500. Was told they would schedule pick up of the 2 left items,but there was no follow up. Was told my stuff would arrive on Monday or Tues but shipment didn't even leave Florida till Mon. I did receive a call from the driver stating they were having mechanical issues which was nice. Again was told stuff would arrive on Thurs but of course that got postponed. On Friday, confirmed delivery for Sun at 8am. On sat called driver and was told this was not possible anymore and would be next tues now. There was no follow up unless I called them. I told the driver I would pay him an extra 200 bucks out of my pocket if they delivered Sunday morning as we had originally planned. Driver showed up Sunday at 4pm, completely rude. I had even asked the security guard to accompany me bc I did not feel safe around driver. Asked to see my place for no reason. Even the security guard was astonished, then I realized this was because he hadn't told the other members of his crew about the extra money. He kept saying he had rented the truck from his friend and it was going to cost me more than 200 ( mind you, I'm already paying 300 in these extra shuttle fees.) The driver rudely told me to go to the ATM for his money as he was going to get some food. The other 2 team members with him were great though. They stated that this was not the case and the truck was free. In the meantime the driver kept calling, I did not answer. Once he gets back he again comes up to my condo and asks for his money. I said finish the job and we will see. I ask him to go downstairs bc there's no need for him to be upstairs. When I first got the news that I would be relocating to a new city for work, I dreaded the move. After moving so frequently after my college years, I learned (and am luckily financially able) to hire companies to do the packing and moving for me. I can't tell you how much I loathe moving...no matter how prepared I thought I was, something always seemed to go wrong. Perhaps I didn't choose the best companies in the past, because this time, as I prepared to move from Florida to Missouri, I hired Solomon and Sons Relocation Services (out of Miami) and they made it BY FAR the best move to date!! First of all, I want to start out by saying Hello, to the three wonderful, responsible, and caring people that assisted me in my move...Amanda, Roy and Sam. They did a wonderful job, and by the end of the process, I felt like I had known them before. It's never fun to see people you don't trust handle every belonging you own, but these three were professional and did such an outstanding job. When they arrived at my house...on time, they were instantly ready and willing to be put to work, and I never heard a complaint out of any of them. I was able to sit back and with almost no help from me they got the job done in a very timely manner. Not only were they there to move my things into the truck, they went out of their way to ensure that my furniture was wrapped appropriately to handle the move. When my things were unloaded at my new house, it was the first time in forever that ALL of my furniture arrived just as it had been before the move. Nothing was broken, scratched, or left behind....a huge victory when moving. (At least for me). Overall, my experience with Solomon and Sons Relocation Services was tremendously better than any other moving service/company I have used in the past. They were very reasonably priced, but more important they did everything you could ask for. They arrived on time, packed everything PERFECTLY, and quite honestly made me feel lazy because they did all the work for me.
