The worst moving company ever they purposely destroyed my household goods, attempted to exploit money from me and never paid the claim even after going through the corrupt arbitration process the selected. The driver pulled a box cutter knife and began fighting with a person he hired to help him. I wish I would have donated the +20K furniture they damaged or burned it, instead of going through them. If anything is broken or loss, the customer is unable to prove it was packed because we can't prove it was on the inventory list nor can you claim it as a loss. I wish i could give them 2 1/2 stars but it’s not an option. I originally received my quote from Trinity Relocation Group and these guys showed up. First of all, I was told that I’d be contacted 24-48 hours for pick up of my household items.I received phone call 18 hours before they were to arrive. Then once they arrived to pick up my items, i was told that I had way more stuff than was quoted. But to be honest I had eliminated multiple items that would reduce the cubic footage needed. Anyway, because of their guesstimation, ended up paying twice as much as was quoted to me for pickup. So I paid the additional $2k to have my items shipped as I was moving cross country. Secondly, i was told that it would take approximately 21 days to move my items. But once the movers got to my house the number of days increased to up to 45 days for delivery. My delivery was delayed by a week due to the driver having a family emergency. My items arrived on day 35. There were only two people unloading the truck and moving items into my house, the driver and another person. The driver said there were two more people coming but only 1 person showed. Thirdly, my advice to anyone using Sky Van Lines is to be sure you purchase your own insurance for the full value of your shipment. I did not do that and regret it. First of all, I was told that I’d be contacted 24-48 hours for pick up of my household items.I received phone call 18 hours before they were to arrive. Secondly, i was told that it would take approximately 21 days to move my items. But once the movers got to my house the number of days increased to up to 45 days for delivery. My delivery was delayed by a week due to the driver having a family emergency. My items arrived on day 35. There were only two people unloading the truck and moving items into my house, the driver and another person. The driver said there were two more people coming but only 1 person showed. Thirdly, my advice to anyone using Sky Van Lines is to be sure you purchase your own insurance for the full value of your shipment. I did not do that and regret it. We had a horrible experience with Sky Vans in our move from CA to TX. On the uploading side they told us that our stuff will take lot more space than what we paid for even though we gave them the exact measurements of everything to get a precise quote which was off by 40% according to their own system so we ended up leaving half of our stuff. Then they took 2 weeks extra for stuff to arrive at destination. The delivery side was even more horrible. They charged us $250 more for stairs and truck distance from the house since their huge truck could not park close. We did mention first floor and stairs while quote but they charged us extra saying that fine print says only 10 steps included in stairs. And then the nightmare continues. They lost 4 of our extra large boxes and then tried their best to convince us that they are here somewhere but when we made noise then they called the warehouse and they confirmed that they did forget to load them. It took them an extra week to bring our lost boxes. As per move quality, they damaged most of our boxes with the move. I am attaching the pictures of the boxes as proof and actually most of the boxes were damaged which did break lot of our stuff. Basically they are the worst movers ever who actually trap you with a lower quote first and when they finally come to upload or download your stuff then they add fine prints extras like stairs charge for more than 10 stairs and 75ft truck distance limit. Is it really customer fault if they bring an 18 wheeler huge truck that is impossible to park within 75ft so they can charge arm and length. It was unbelievable to see that they have this rip off system in place when they initially break the news to the customer for more charges and then they tell you that you have one hour to decide to decline service or otherwise pay 100s of dollars for extra hours. So they know that customers will complain and try to call in the first hour so they made it free. Wish they are sued soon for their fraud practices. It is just like a scam really. We used Cross Country Moving to schedule our move from California to Florida. They booked Sky Vanlines to move us. The only good experience was pickup. If you decide to use these companies I would suggest you assume you’ll wait a month and prepare your items for very rough handling. We were originally supposed to receive our stuff Feb 24th. When we didn’t receive any emails we contacted the company and were just sent our contract to review. It states you may receive your stuff 7-14 days from your first available date (March 9 for us.) It also says they are required to deliver your items within 21 business days by federal law. For us, that would be March 24. We still expected to receive our stuff by March 9. What fools we were! March 9th came and went with no emails or correspondence. Since we had just been forwarded our contract for previous inquiries, we waited until March 17, a week before the last day they could legally deliver, to contact them. We were told it would be on a truck ASAP and got our shipment email with a estimated delivery window of March 23-26. We assumed the late delivery was because of the pandemic, but were told it was irrelevant. They had gotten to our stuff as soon as they could and it may even come before the 23rd since there was less traffic. The truck arrived on March 25th. We were so excited to get our stuff! As you can imagine, the pandemic was keeping us mostly home. We had spent about a month in an empty house waiting. We got our call from the driver that he was close! This is where we found out the delivery may cost another $300-$600 if the semi truck doesn’t fit on your road. We spend a good while contacting customer service and the driver about this, which again ended in us being forwarded the contact to read the fine print. Our point of contact for Cross Country Moving assured us that he checked ahead and the truck would fit on our road. Thankfully it did! But the truck came without our stuff! We heard their warehouse personal screaming at the driver that he KNEW it has to be there. The driver moved another persons stuff over the course of 2 hours. Nothing. We then had to contact customer service again to get our stuff reschedule to ship, still just sitting in California. At this point we asked for compensation. We got $125 off our $2256 total. We accepted this and were afraid to press on the issue since our stuff was still undelivered. After a month of waiting we were worried they wouldn’t deliver our stuff at all. After another week and a half, we got our stuff on April 6th, 2020. We found out from our final driver they had scheduled and failed to load our stuff 3 times and just didn’t tell us. All of our boxes are crushed, broken, or falling apart. Several items are broken. Our driver was great and took care as he moved it into the house, but the damage was already done. When we emailed customer service they told us our stuff was DELIVERED MARCH 14 and insisted they already sent us info on making a claim on March 18. The email felt accusatory, like we were trying to scam their company. After having to explain our situation, the customer service rep only replied with the claims link. Throughout this process it was a pain to even speak to someone, let alone get information about our stuff from them. I would not recommend either of these companies. I would like to think we have gone through the worst case scenario, but it seems like their contracts are set up for exactly this type of scenario. I am so grateful to our drivers for delivering and being so professional. It’s been the only good thing in this process. We just filed a claim for our broken items and do not expect anything in return. March 9th came and went with no emails or correspondence. Since we had just been forwarded our contract for previous inquiries, we waited until March 17, a week before the last day they could legally deliver, to contact them. We were told it would be on a truck ASAP and got our shipment email with a estimated delivery window of March 23-26. We assumed the late delivery was because of the pandemic, but were told it was irrelevant. They had gotten to our stuff as soon as they could and it may even come before the 23rd since there was less traffic. The truck arrived on March 25th. We were so excited to get our stuff! As you can imagine, the pandemic was keeping us mostly home. We had spent about a month in an empty house waiting. We got our call from the driver that he was close! This is where we found out the delivery may cost another $300-$600 if the semi truck doesn’t fit on your road. We spend a good while contacting customer service and the driver about this, which again ended in us being forwarded the contact to read the fine print. Our point of contact for Cross Country Moving assured us that he checked ahead and the truck would fit on our road. Thankfully it did! But the truck came without our stuff! Horrible, terrible, nothing but lies. I used what I thought was Sky Van Line to move from California to Michigan. I say thought because I was assured that they didn't used third party movers but upon delivery it was a different company than Sky Van Line that delivered my items. I took pictures and video to document the damaged products and the lack of respect given to my property and myself. Wish I could attach to this review. After all that, the couriers tried to charge me extra money even though the move had been paid in full. Sky Van Line tried to change the contract to show an amount unpaid. Thankfully I had my receipt on hand and was able to dispute that lie and after a lengthy telephone conversation with the CSR they relented on trying to rip me off for more money. In the same conversation, I expressed my dissatisfaction with the movers, and the damaged property. The CSR stated she'd give me a link to file a claim for any damages suffered. After days of waiting for the link, it turned out to be a third party again. Haven't been able to submit the claim though because the website continually gives errors and won't accept info. We used Sky Van Lines for our move from Cali to Seattle. I did my due diligence in searching for a moving company as I encourage you all to do. I created a chart of questions including: are you brokers or an actual moving company? Is there a booking fee or a fuel charge? is there an oversize couch fee? How much do you charge for tvs? Same movers picking up and dropping off? Does it change trucks? Are there additional fees for tape? Is there a mattress fee? Will you be my contact from start to finish? These are questions I urge you to ask every moving company. Tim was the person I spoke to with sky van lines. He was very helpful and kind and we chatted about our lives and families. I trusted him and I trusted the answers he gave me to those questions. I trusted the quote he gave me. I trusted that after weeks of rigorous vetting that I had picked the right moving company. When they arrived Monday a man named Nir did the walk through, he told us what they estimated we have, added on the additional charges and the total was DOUBLE the quote I got from Tim. I said wait wait no no hold on. I showed Nir the chart I made with the answers Tim gave me. He seemed shocked and took a picture of my chart. He said he hasn't seen anything like it. He cut off $600 worth of tape and labor charges that Tim told me their company doesn't charge. They started loading the truck and things relaxed a bit. I apologized for being snappish in the morning but I was very stressed and I had been worried there would be a problem. The movers were very friendly, said they understood. Nir chatted with me about working for uber also and how much money he made doing that. I spoke with Tim once or twice that day and he seemed distracted and like he wasn't so sure about what he told me on the phone before like it wasn't clear. I considered that there's a good chance they purposely severely under quote to book a job. That being said, whatever cubic feet they say you have? Double it and that's probably more likely to be the real measurement. I was disappointed in him but figured I would wait and discuss it with him after the moving van was all loaded and done. At the end of the day, as they were loading last pieces on the truck, we were given the paperwork to sign. Nir also gave us a "how was your experience" paper with 1-5 rating system. I filled it out honestly. Our quote was for 2600, after everything we paid 3700 ( and that was after deducting the additional 600 they wanted to charge us) I was a bit put off but overall they were nice guys. I gave the movers 5 stars but gave 3 for the quote and 3 for a less than professional confirmation call before the move. When Nir saw my rate sheet, he threw a fit. He said "this is garbage. It's the worst review I've ever seen. If I had known you would write this, I wouldn't have given you the discount. This is garbage. I'm not even gonna take this" and he threw it down on the papers we got to keep. I've never seen a tantrum Like what he did. I had given him 5 stars. My only critiques were with the quote and call. My husband and I looked at each other like what the hell just happened. Nir walked out to stew in the van and we didn't see him or speak to him again. The other movers finished the job, one of them apologized for Nir's behavior, and my husband and I considered how much of our stuff would be broken or lost when it arrived. I was never able to contact Tim again. I called multiple times. I left messages. I called from different numbers. Tried to call him one more time before writing this. No answer. Our stuff was picked up on a Monday from long beach, CA. Delivered the following Wednesday to Seattle area. Not a bad turn around time. The delivery guy Peter and his helpers were very very nice. Some of The boxes were in rough shape. The "fragile" and arrows pointing up didn't seem to be paid any mind. The Cali guys had packed a glass lamp on top of a mini fridge in a wardrobe box with zero bubble wrap or paper. I'm baffled it didn't break. Overall we got our things in relatively good shape in a pretty decent amount of time for about 1100 more than what we were quoted. I got higher (but actually lower) quotes from larger companies that I now think could have been worth it. They informed me Nir was let go (not his first strike apparently) and that they would speak with Tim regarding his lack of contact with me after moving day. She was very nice and gracious and apologetic for our experience. She has offered a partial refund to get closer to our original quote and I told her it meant as much to me to be able to actually have the company listen to my concerns which is what I was having trouble with.
