This is my second residential move in 7 years with Shannon Moving. My first experience was very good, and so I hired them again for my recent move. My experience this time was phenomenal. During my initial consultation, and at key touch points along the way, Fiachra was warm, helpful and knowledgeable. On my moving day, my move team consisted of Hugo, Memo and Juan. These guys are the real deal. Equal parts strong, careful, kind and very hardworking, Hugo, Memo and Juan remained professional, friendly and attentive throughout my 13+ hour move, which included loading the contents of my storage space onto the truck first, and then moving my belongings down a steep flight of 36 stairs. They carefully shrink wrapped all cabinets and took great care. The move also included some challenges, including moving some very heavy and large cabinets, and getting a sideboard up a very compact spiral staircase. Their determination to "find a way" and persevere was impressive. They also disassembled and reassembled a light fixture to enable placing a tall cabinet just beyond. Shannon also offers affordable monthly storage for items you wish to hold onto that won't fit into your current space, which can be loaded onto your truck for your next move. This happened to me 7 years ago, and along the way I had a few questions about the contents of my storage space. I was pleasantly surprised when they opened the space to send me photos and answer questions about the contents. I strongly recommend Shannon Moving for your next move. This company should be avoided at all cost. The service was shady. My items were picked through and many many items disappeared in transit. A 2" hole was put through a painting that had been done on a wood canvas and the managing mover lied and said he'd moved it himself and there was no hole- even after I showed him the hole, destroying a $5000 piece of art. One of the movers put a box of papers on the stove, accidentally or not, then ran out the door as the fire alarm blared! Thank God I came in when I did to keep the fire from spreading! On top of this, two members of the team gave false testimony, in writing, when asked to account for their actions. This company has many complaints from my fellow neighbors as well, about rudeness, inconsiderate parking, loud cursing from moving staff and staff disregard for cleanliness on breaks and scaring little dogs. move went really really bad. Not only it lasted from 9am to 10.20pm and we were charged more than 2x of what we were told (although we sent a detailed write up ans pictures of our house) but also, one of lamps is broken and our wardrobe, that was supposed to be reassembled, is not working properly. The person who was leading the team was extremely rude- I cannot say the same for the rest of the team. The leader did the following: - when we asked him to wear shoe cover (the new place was cleaned early morning and we have 9mo + there is Covid), even though we were ok for them to use it to go to the truck, he complained and he said it would damage the floors. I don't really understand why - he also told his manager there was nothing wrong with the wardrobe and he wanted to leave even though the wardrobe was not functioning. When they first attempted to leave, I was cleaning the wardrobe and realized NONE of the drawers were working because the cover was blocking them. Then, when we said it wasn't working, he said he won't come and sent his crew. Even though they missed a piece, they blamed IKEA and he informed there was nothing wrong with the wardrobe- which is incorrect. It works really funky and a piece is not reassembled. Shannon Moving & Storage... You guys are A+! I was in need of a task that seemed impossible to me, and these guys got it done, and done WELL! Seriously, from start to finish, working with this company, I only had positive experiences. Paul was so helpful, genuine, and responsive for everything I needed. I was so worried about getting the move done but he completely reassured me, and with his team, he was completely right! Everything was PERFECT, and the whole team that came to actually do the move was great. The team I had working with me was Lemmar, Juan, Liddy, Ger , Chris and Elnor. I can't say enough good things about all of them. Each of them was kind, hard working, and stayed until the very end to make sure the job was done, and done well. I can't express my gratitude enough, so it was the least I could do to tell the world how awesome everyone at Shannon is!!
