I think their motto truly lives up to itsself, moving never felt so good and easy. Nika and his crew were very professional, they wrapped everything in the appropriate blankets secured by tape and were careful to take apart furniture that needed to be taken apart and did everything very efficiently. When they arrived at my place in New Jersey, they carefully unloaded the truck and put everything where it belongs. They even took care to ensure that any bookcases, where the backing had come loose, they took the effort to resecure it. when they brought the furniture to New Jersey and unloaded the truck they rebuilt the furniture that they had taken apart and even accommodated precisely where it needed to go. You should still be able to read my original review from a few months ago. The TLDR of this update is that the reason my review is one of the few negative ones is that Seka is a bloodhound about negative reviews on here. In the end, Seka offered me compensation for the furniture of mine that they LOST only if I took down my review. I did not accept the agreement. It wasn't even a negative review (as you can see), but even-handed. I pointed out that there were good and bad things about using Seka. Instead of doing the honest and ethical thing and try to actually improve their practices, Seka instead has taken to repeatedly texting and calling me to take down the review (even though I never received a dime from them, and they received about $3500 from me). They did this even when my sister was in the hospital. I knew even before then that this business was sketchy AF based on their behavior, but man, what a low bar of humanity to actually miss. I don't know how a person can send a text like "Sorry that your sister is in the hospital, but I want to talk to you about your yelp review (and tell you to take it down again)." Overall, I would recommend SEKA moving. However, I have a few grievances. I have moved quite a bit and I highly recommend using a moving company. I was referred to this moving company by my boss. She said they were great! So I called and was surprised when I got a quote that was almost half the price I’ve paid for before. I realized after talking to Peter it’s because I had two huge armoires from IKEA moved. Pete saved me a ton of money and he was right moving those are WAY more than they cost. Anywho, I was schedule for a 9am time and Jimmy and his crew literally called me at 9:03 around the corner and ready to go! They were great and were even friendly to my cat who gets servers anxiety during moves. They took my furniture apart and put it back together perfectly! I also brought some of my own items in the car and they literally wouldn’t let me carry them up by myself they kept grabbing foe me and putting them in the bins so I didn’t have too! I'm writing a review in part because my movers are 3 hours late and no one has reached out to me to give me an update. I've tried calling multiple times but just get a recording that the office is closed. I'm hoping maybe someone from the company will reach out to me to let me know when my stuff is coming or if I'll have to sleep on the floor. I used Seka to move out of my apartment last year and into storage, in part because of all the 5-star reviews. You should be aware that THEY OFFER YOU A DISCOUNT IF YOU WRITE A 5 STAR REVIEW IN FRONT OF THE FOREMAN. I declined because my integrity cannot be purchased. I would be very skeptical of any 5-star reviews on here. I promise you it is not a five-star experience. --update-- Finally arrived 4 hours late. Broke one of the bannister legs on the stairs, couch is damaged, etc. I'll update later with more pictures. This company is a nightmare DO NOT USE THEM. Every 5 star review that begins "Jimmy and his crew / AB and his team, David and his crew" was paid for. They offer you a review to copy and paste! Look at Alex N's review, he accidentally pasted the review they wrote for him twice smh. What a shame so many people have contributed to artificially pumping up Seka's ratings just to save a few bucks. Will report to BBB. Read More

In the height of this pandemic, my husband and I happen to be one of the many people who decided to leave NYC. I found Seka through a referral from a recent customer and I'm so glad I did. I've moved 4x and Seka has been the most helpful, genuine experience I've had with movers. From the initial conversation where we went over preliminary items, you definitely can tell they've been in the business for a long time. They also checked on me as the move date approached and was very prompt in providing COIs for both buildings. Jacob and Yurij has been so professional throughout our e-mail and phone conversations. On the day of the move - Alexander and two others with him called ahead of time, showed up on time, and took care of everything. They even managed to make sure my little baby plants made it across the Hudson River intact. Moving is hard and stressful, but these guys alleviated my worries and made sure all my valuables - including an antique lamp from my mom was handled with utmost care. I hired Seka moving at the recommendation of two coworkers. During covid one coworker used them to pack up her apartment while she was gone; another was present for the move but used Seka's packing services and said he "did not lift a finger". They also have great yelp reviews. With that said I realize that I had higher expectations than what they were able to deliver. I'm sure they are great movers and I would consider them again for that service ONLY. For packing, it is not worth the hefty price tag. Short Story: The movers were unprepared, didn't pack efficiently, used more boxes than needed, and tried to get me to commit to large tips to avoid additional inflammatory fees. Longer story: The movers, a group of 3, arrived on time. There was a head mover who inspected my 1 bedroom apartment. After seeing my stuff, it was clear he wasn't aware that I had paid for packing in addition to moving. He seemed put off and annoyed and immediately reminded me of my total estimated price and said a 20% tip is standard and what they will expect for their work. After returning from getting packing supplies he told me I'd have to pay an additional charge for an extra set of stairs (from the sidewalk to my front door) although those stairs were stated clearly during my quote. When I pushed back he said he would not charge for the extra flight if I promised to tip him well. As they began to pack, I did not feel things were packed efficiently (see photo). My clothes were literally thrown from my drawers into boxes. They made no effort to keep them folded in order to maximize space. They tried to pack my vinyl records on top of a bunch of other items that would have resulted in my records being bent and damaged. I had to ask them to pack them in a way where they could lay flat vs. shifting around in a box. They left several of my coffee table books out, while multiple boxes of books were taped up without being full (I checked). I have an actual video of the mover throwing stuff in boxes without even looking! Overall, they seemed unprepared. No pens to label boxes. For all smaller things (jewelry dishes, printer, vases) they kept asking "does this need to be packed?" to which I kept responding "yes. Everything should be packed." I expected them to take a full assessment of my belongings and pack in an efficient way. Instead, it felt like they just made up the plan as they discovered what needed to be packed which resulted in them using more boxes than needed. Mover tried to charge me an extra $200 for 4 additional wardrobe boxes though almost all of my wardrobe was packed up. They wanted to use wardrobe boxes to pack shoes and pillows. I had to speak to a rep at their office over the phone twice to clear this up. Towards the end of the move, as they began to pack up my sofa the head mover asked me if they could pack my sofa cushions in wardrobe boxes, which would be an extra $45 per box (on top of the $200 they tried to charge before). When I pushed back on why my sofa cushions would be extra since my sofa was included in my estimate he said that if agreed to tip them $250 they will not charge me for any additional boxes. For reference, my total fee was $1170 including $200 for a month of storage, so $250 is over 20% for a less than stellar job. They also left empty tape rings and packing paper all over the place when they left. In the end, I agreed to tip the team $250 in cash to keep things amicable since they were handling my belongings. I wish there was more clarity in putting together the estimate. The initial conversation about what belongings I had was pretty brief and now I realize the proper level of inventory probably wasn't taken. Also, I had much higher expectations on how they would pack my stuff. I'm very concerned about the condition of my fragile things (vinyl records, vases, etc.). After an agreement with another moving company fell through I was worried I would be unable to find movers for my narrow designated moving later in the week. Fortunately I was able to get things squared away after speaking to George. On moving day, Bacho, George, & Otto showed up wishing the designated time. I initially met Bacho who went over the contract agreement with me. We also went over what needed to be moved and the guys quickly set off and did what they needed to do. They took extra care in wrapping and transporting delicate items. And loaded up a two bedroom duplex in about an hour. By the time we got to the destination there was less than an hour to move everything in. Bacho told me to rest assured and that they would get it done. And they did.
