Where do I start! I hired Presto Logistics for my move from LA to Washington in December 2022, their price was so fair that we abandoned the idea of driving a Uhaul truck ourselves. They helped wrap everything, delivered everything in one piece and set up all the furniture they took apart perfectly. All in all it took a very small time frame for us to be delivered our items. I was very very glad to share their information the next month with a friend of mine who is doing the same long distance move as me. He is also very happy with the fair price and absolutely amazing service. This is just the business side of it. The next part just makes me so emotional as a human being. Henry from Presto Logistics and his team have also graciously put their necks out to help us in our efforts to send aid to the devastating earthquake that happened this week in Turkey and Syria. They so kindly donated the Turkish consulate shipping supplies so we can send emergency care packages to people who survived. From California to Texas, it's a smooth sailing, worry-free transaction. I was worried at first especially it's my first time shipping this much/far with all my belongings and collections from my bedroom apartment (no furnitures included, just a 5x4 picture frame that they wrapped with a secure cloth around it) I wasn't sure about process of it, so i had to box and tape it myself before contacting any of these shipping companies. (doing so will definitely help your budget a lot more) and they would double tape it again upon pickup. But HENRY is the man to secure, from price estimation (Zelle option) to your point of destination (cash basis only) (less than ten days of arrival) he will be in touch. I called Presto Logistics to schedule my move from California to Georgia about 7 weeks early and it was an easy/smooth process. Customer service was very friendly, informative, and they answered all of my questions. I got a quote through Facetime with Henry which was $2600 for 300 cubic feet and I paid a $250 deposit to book it. My pickup date was scheduled for Monday (1/17/22) and I finished packing a few days before on Friday (1/14/22). That's when I realized I had more stuff than what was on the original quote, and after reading other reviews about some people having to pay more on pickup, I immediately called Presto and spoke with Dave Parlo. We went through my inventory again, I told him exactly what I had and he assured me the price would remain the same. He emailed me an updated quote to sign, still priced at $2600 and everything should've been good. On Monday (1/17/22) at 6:00 am sharp, about 6 guys showed up to my home ready to move. 1 guy was the leader and handled the paperwork with me while the other guys loaded it all up. As soon as the last box was gone, the head guy says "sorry, you have to pay a little more"! I told him I spoke to Dave already and he kept saying there's nothing he can do, and charged me for 25 more cubic feet. The price went from $2600 to $2775 for 25 more cubic feet and he never even went to go look inside the truck or took any measurements. He just somehow knew I needed to be charged for 25 more cubic feet. It was 6 am and I didn't want to argue so I just agreed to pay the difference since my flight was the next night. The driver arrived to Georgia 8 days later on 01/25/22. The 18-wheeler wouldn't make it down my street so I had to rent a truck and meet the driver at a nearby parking lot. The driver was alone and didn't have any movers to help. He offered to unload and load my truck by himself no problem but that would've taken him a long time and I didn't want to stand around and just watch him struggle so I hopped in truck and helped him out. I could tell he really needed the help. My boxes were heavy! All of my belongings arrived on time and intact, but the price increase on pickup, especially after I called in to verify was really disappointing and Presto Logitstics had nothing to say about it. Henry came by to do the walk through. He gave us one specific estimate. We asked then double checked. We then asked him to confirm again. He was certain there would be no alterations. We were charged $2,000 more on the day at an hour when we could not adjust because although the Pickup Team was early, the office wouldn't be open for four more hours. The Pickup Captain shrugged, unsurprised and said, "This is what they do. But, this is what it is." Not a Great start. 2. Speaking of the Pickup Captain. The now agitated Captain began to bicker with and then raise his voice at the matriarch of the house as we attempted to contact our dearest new buddy, Henry. Guaranteed Henry. When the patriarch arrived, the now surprised and shook-eth Captain somehow, through gritted teeth began to act with a modicum of respect. ******READER I know we don't know each other. But I feel incredibly confident that you don't want an Antagonistic Mysogonist waking you up at 5:30am to tell you that every single PRESTO worker that you spoke to about this entire process was lying. "So, do you want to do it or no?" He was the RE-AGITATED when he realized that ALL of the paperwork that OUR DEAR FREIND HENRY had drawn up was inaccurate. After 6 months of silliness, we received less around $70 to replace personal items that were worth over $1200. 3. After continuing to unpack, I understood why they broke and bent things. The packing job. Yes, that one. the one they were paid to do that they did not know that they were doing that HENRY guaranteed. By whatever information he meant to say misinformation. After 2 weeks plus I was being told my mother's belongings, who had just passed away, were on a truck but the computers were down so they couldn't tell me anything. Then a day or 2 maybe even longer, I was told they couldn't reach dispatch. In comes Henry AFTER I made my first review. Who is Henry you say? Great question. Henry proceeds to tell me that after these 2 plus weeks that I'm looking for my belongings on a daily... Waiting on the call that someone is telling me it's on it's way... that it's still in California waiting on a truck coming my way. Mind you I was told at pickup, which was the Thursday the 17th, that a truck was there leaving out that day or the next so in fact my belongings would be to me probably Tuesday or Wednesday. So going back and forth with Henry, which still got me nowhere. All he was worried about was if I took down my 1st review that he would take 120$ off of my remaining balance which was 470$. He TRIED to insult my intelligence. It didn't work. So finally my belongings get here last Friday and guess what? Well, there's a broken chair. Lots of broken fine China and crystal. A chunk of wood missing off of my buffet that was purchased in 1958. I do have the original receipts. Henrys people wrapped the big stuff btw but he asked me to find someone who fixes wood and they would see what they could do to help get it fixed lol. The majority of it made it safely but all that didn't is a straight up loss at 60 cents a pound. That shyt is so laughable but things come back 10 fold. So this is my first experience with a moving company so not quite sure how to compare it, but I personally would NOT work with these guys again. I'll try to keep this short as I can, but I got some things to say! Pros: First off to start on the positive, Henry was great to work with. Came to my apartment to give a quote. The price was on the low/middle side compared to other companies, but seemed more reliable than some of the cheaper companies. I was able to text Henry throughout the moving experience which was really nice, probably something most other companies don't do. Cons: 1) To start I personally thought the primary guy who moved us in was a bit rude/condescending. I was like wait what, I need 10 minutes to go to the bank after waiting 15 days for you to get here, and no one told me I had to have the cash exactly when they arrived, AND I spoke with you literally the day before. He gives a snark response, "it's in the contract". He didn't end up charging me after some arguing, but that was kind of his attitude throughout. 2) So for the bed in our guest bedroom, they actually LOST THE PIECES TO PUT IT TOGETHER. You know, like screws, bolts, wooden dowels, I dunno I'm not super handy. So they placed the mattress, headboard, etc.. in the guestroom and were basically like, yea the pieces are missing and you're gonna have to go figure out how to find them yourself...what?!?! So I had to drive all the way to the only IKEA in town and figure out how to get the missing pieces. Luckily, IKEA was able to figure it out and send them to our apartment a week later. But if the bed was from a less national brand, I could very well have been SOL. Presto did offer to send someone like a week after we got the parts to build the bed, but that's several weeks after we already moved in our stuff. So I built the bed myself with my father-in-law. Wait.. why did I even hire movers then? 3) A bunch of other stuff was either missing or broken in addition to the bed including: - the wheels to our grill broke off, - the legs to our george foreman grill are missing, - the legs to our bar table are missing, - many dishes were broken including EXPENSIVE wedding gifts. We packed these very well with all kinds of bubble wrap and put fragile stickers all over them. There is no chance they were handled well. 4) And with all these issues, there really was never any sort of apology or sense of caring or anything. Just felt really impersonal. Felt like they gypped me really, huge waste of money in my opinion. That's all I got! This company has pretty good reviews in general so I don't know if this is isolated incident, but we were not happy with the move. ***EDIT*** (07/31/20) So after writing this review, Henry (who I mentioned earlier in the review) reached out to me. He was apologetic and wanted to make things right. We were able to come to an amicable resolution. I appreciate the way he deals with issues to come up with solutions. So this is my first experience with a moving company so not quite sure how to compare it, but I personally would NOT work with these guys again. I'll try to keep this short as I can, but I got some things to say! Pros: First off to start on the positive, Henry was great to work with. Came to my apartment to give a quote. The price was on the low/middle side compared to other companies, but seemed more reliable than some of the cheaper companies. I was able to text Henry throughout the moving experience which was really nice, probably something most other companies don't do. Cons: 1) To start I personally thought the primary guy who moved us in was a bit rude/condescending.
