Pinnacle Van Lines LLC, DOT 3197443 MC-1161787 (a Broker, not a mover) contracts with businesses whose practices appear on this warning document provided by the federal government:
My CA pickup 04/12/21 and KY delivery 05/08/21 were performed by vendors subcontracted by Feb-Ex, who is the sub-contractor to Pinnacle. A rental truck arrived with a paper sign taped to the door. Delivery: 65 foot truck (normal 18-wheeler 48-53 feet) with paper sign taped on door. It can't turn into a driveway and requires over half a football field on the street to park or an extra change for "shuttle services" is applied.
ONE MOVING GUY. Pinnacle & Feb-Ex JUSTIFY using one man to move everything because "the amount of items was small." Not the size of the item, not the weight, not the value. Read on . . . .
Pinnacle's website shows offices in CA, FL, Chicago. Broker address actually in FL only. Broker states they "routinely sub-contract with Feb-Ex." On the moving day the customer is expected to sign-off on a brand new contract with a different moving company. (Look up Feb-Ex (for more detailed information from me, but never ever involve them in your move. They call and say, "this is the moving company" and when I asked which company, they repeat, "the moving company.") Did the contracts match? No. Differences in charges? Yes.
If you sub-contract with another company fairly often, then you would be aware of the differences in the two contracts and RESOLVE THE ISSUES before the move, right? No.
Instead it was a series of rushed phone calls to fix billing issues.
THE INSURANCE: I would refer to my original contract here, but Pinnacle Van Lines has erased the contract from all emails. Of course I moved the contract to a different app for storage, but it was erased there as well. The insurance value of the move was the cost of the move. Options for increased insurance would be available with the carrier. When I requested a higher coverage from the carrier due to several expensive items, like a Tempur-Pedic queen mattress, I was told IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO PURCHASE MORE INSURANCE AND MUST BE DONE 3 DAYS IN ADVANCE. But Pinnacle never told me about this requirement and never told me who the sub-contractor would be.
So now I have 2 large boxes missing and broken items, and when I called Pinnacle, I was referred to Feb-Ex (where the dispatcher refused to identify the company she was working for.) I was told when I called Feb-Ex claims, "We won't find it just file a claim." Why? THE INSURANCE I WAS FORCED TO ACCEPT IS 60 CENTS PER POUND. If my box of clothing weighed 30 pounds, it's cheaper to just "give me" $18.00 insurance coverage. And of course, Pinnacle Van Lines LLC (DOT 3197443 MC 155227) has no skin in this game. They got their money.

Using Pinnacle Van Lines LLC was an absolute mistake and nightmare. The total moving estimate I received on 9/29/2020 from Jason Brantman was for $1,800 to move from Murrieta CA to Austin TX. I didn't have a lot to move so this seemed like a good deal. My requested pick up date was 10/17/2020, the day I moved from CA. Jason lied about the whole process and failed to provide very important details. The movers did not come on the requested move date of 10/17/2020, they came the following day. My mother was able to be there, luckily. When I called to find out what time they would be coming on 10/18 so I could arrange with my mother, they had lost my order. When I contacted Jason about the issue, he never got back to me. Finally, they were able to locate my order and provide a pick up time. When the movers got there, they repriced all my boxes and furniture. I was not told that wardrobe boxes were a different price, my bed was apparently not a normal sized bed since it was an 18" mattress, my couch was not a normal couch size, therefore the cost went up exponentially. This pertained to every item I was moving bringing the cost up to $3,775.00 dollars. Chris, the dispatch person screamed at yelled at me over the phone when I told him Jason said the move was supposed to take 7 days, which is what Jason Brantman communicated to me during the consultation. That was a lie. The movers didn't show up until 15 days later. Additionally, when they did show up, my items were at the very back of the truck, so the movers had to empty the whole truck to get my items out, which they demonstrated no care in my items or anyone else's. They left 10+ empty boxes scattered at the bottom of my staircase, broken glasses (someone else's box of glass cups), a broken antique clay pot that stood 4 feet tall was also left behind. It was a mess after they left, which I have pictures of, and had to clean up. I was told once the movers picked my items up on 10/18/2020 that I would be able to call or text on Monday October 19 to find out a delivery date. I called and texted everyday and rarely received any response from multiple people asked. The day before the movers came I received a call, it was a Sunday, explaining to me they would be there the next day between 8am-10am, and required cash payment. I explained to them I would need to go to the bank which didn't open until 9am, and to not show up until 9:30. They showed up at 10:30. Then they told me it was going to be an additional $300 dollars on top of what they said would be the total, which meant I had to go back to the bank again. When I requested the owner's contact information to file a complaint, Chris from dispatch would not provide it. The cost alone to move my things was far too much, $4,075.00 from the original quote of $1,800.00. The level of customer service was not remotely adequate, the level of communication was terrible, the lies were plenty. Read More
