will never use again!!! kept finding ways to upcharge even up to the delivery day! I had a 4 bedroom house to be moved, got rid of more than half the stuff in my house, mostly big items like beds, sofas, dressers and they still charged extra because they didn't come prepared. would not recommend at all. wouldn't even pull the semi into the driveway to unload even though its a huge driveway with plenty of space in the country and still tried to charge me extra for the distance to where the items were going. then come to find out the helpers were hired off Craigslist... though they were very nice and helpful the driver was awful Read More

Quite possibly the rudest and most unethical company that I have ever worked with in my entire life.
The quote that I was given from the broker was such a scam. The guy said "best to over estimate size and weight to be sure the truck is large enough and your cost will be better calculated when the movers are there and it will be lower. TOTAL BS. I gave the guy a huge estimate on the size of my house. He kept reassuring me that it was best to over estimate. Yeah... no such luck. The truck that arrived BARELY fit all of my stuff, and they ended up charging me THOUSANDS of dollars more than what they quoted me.
These guys show up a day late. Then they tell me they won't be able to finish in a day which was unacceptable because I had a flight to catch the next morning. It took me hours on the phone and practically standing in front of their truck to get them to do the job and get it done right.
Here's the kicker and what totally made it all make sense. The deposit that I gave the broker was paid via credit card. The second deposit that had to be paid when the movers showed up that was paid to Ocean was via credit card. So clearly they have the ability to get paid via credit. The final payment when the movers arrived at my new home had to be paid in cash. It's 2022... What kind of business requires thousands of dollars to be paid in cask. SHADY ONES THAT KNOW YOUR CREDIT CARD CHARGES CAN BE DISPUTED. Such scammers. Seriously I GUARANTEE that if you end up using them you will regret it. I'd give my cell number to anyone on here that gave them a good review because it's BS, and you clearly know them or work there or some other form of shadiness. Read More

This company doubled our cost even though they had a complete inventory list and then still didn’t get a big enough truck resulting in us renting one ourselves for the rest of the items. I have moved several times and never had an experience like this! Almost every piece of furniture was broken, scratched or dented. Fine furniture was not wrapped and was placed against a red metal tool chest. Our bed was reassembled with only a handful of screws and the others missing. They refused to put the gym equipment back together that THEY took apart. They provided a form for insurance and said they would call in three days. Instead no call and they refuse to answer. Wish I could give them zero stars. The movers were jerks, costumer service argued with us, and the overall experience was horrible. It took them THREE WEEKS to get us our stuff. Every time we called the date got pushed back and customer service would be awful towards us. The movers threw boxes, wiped their snot on them (which is always gross but way more so during a pandemic), and dragged mud through our house. When they finally brought us our stuff, they left it all in the garage. We’ve moved many times and our stuff has always been brought inside, to their proper rooms, by the movers. Absolutely ridiculous. Every single piece of our furniture is at least chipped, some completely ruined. It’s not cheap furniture either. Boxes with good dishes and what not were labeled fragile many times, but that was completely ignored. The boxes arrived beat up, nothing is in good shape. My exercise equipment doesn’t work very well now. I’ve added pictures of some of the ‘not as bad’ damage since we got rid of the completely destroyed stuff. They are overpriced and will not give us any money back after destroying our things. I’m not Jeff Bezos, I can’t afford all new furniture, so now I have next to nothing. Absolutely ridiculous. Every single piece of our furniture is at least chipped, some completely ruined. It’s not cheap furniture either. Boxes with good dishes and what not were labeled fragile many times, but that was completely ignored. The boxes arrived beat up, nothing is in good shape. My exercise equipment doesn’t work very well now. I’ve added pictures of some of the ‘not as bad’ damage since we got rid of the completely destroyed stuff. They are overpriced and will not give us any money back after destroying our things. I’m not Jeff Bezos, I can’t afford all new furniture, so now I have next to nothing. There were a few issues I had with this move:
1st, I was told by the broker (Safe Move LLC) that it would only take 3-5 days to deliver my items to my destination. I confirmed this with him in an email. When Ocean Moving and Storage came to pick my stuff up, I asked the man in charge if what Safe Move LLC said was true, that it would only take 3-5 days even though the contract said up to 14 days. He said not to worry that it would only take 3-5 days and that though the contract says 14 days its not entirely true (which was a lie because it took 16 days for my stuff to arrive).
When the Delivery man dropped my items off, one of my furniture items was damaged. I asked him about this and he told me that it was the companies fault because they shove about 3 or 4 different household's stuff into one large truck and that things get damaged because of this (he could hardly take my stuff out because of how packed the truck was - btw while getting my stuff out he ended up dropping another persons stuff on the ground, and yes it sounded like glass breaking). He told me that if my stuff is broken that insurance would cover it. On the contract however they dont cover the whole cost, for every 10 pounds of damage they give you .60 cents (this was option 2 - if you go with the company I suggest option 1 where they have to pay the whole cost of your damaged items, just make sure they dont charge you extra for it).
Next, the delivery man claimed that his truck could not enter the apartment complex (which was a lie because of how large the complex was, he didnt want to do it because he accidentally drove past it and didnt want to come back). He left my stuff on the curb outside the complex and when I asked if he would take the stuff into my house (since this was his job) he asked me for an extra 100.00 to finish the job or else he was not going to do it, so I agreed because how was I suppose to carry stuff, like a sofa, from the outside of the complex into the complex and then into my house? He then hired a random guy nearby to move my stuff into my house (which was fine), however he himself never came in to finish the job. My 70 year old mother and I had to help the solo guy get the stuff in. On top of that, the delivery man was suppose to assemble the furniture. My table was not reassembled when I was told explicitly by the delivery men who picked it up from my original location that it would be assembled at my destination and that my items would be taken into the house, this is also in the contract. I made sure of this because I asked them about it specifically. When I talked to the man who came to drop my stuff off and mentioned this to him, he said that if I had an issue, it was with the company and not him. He said if I was unhappy, I should just sue them.
I contacted the company and talked to Sherri. She was helpful and really nice and refunded me 100.00. I was grateful for this and for her help, but I would not recommend this company (or any company where they do bulk transfers of different households) because these types of companies don't really care about your stuff because if they break it, you have to go through insurance and its quite a hassle (not to mention, only .60 per 100 pounds). Make sure to take pictures before the move as well and to keep all documentation. If there are any broken pieces make sure to write it down on their paper before signing. When Ocean Moving and Storage came to pick my stuff up, I asked the man in charge if what Safe Move LLC said was true, that it would only take 3-5 days even though the contract said up to 14 days. He said not to worry that it would only take 3-5 days and that though the contract says 14 days its not entirely true (which was a lie because it took 16 days for my stuff to arrive).
When the Delivery man dropped my items off, one of my furniture items was damaged. I asked him about this and he told me that it was the companies fault because they shove about 3 or 4 different household's stuff into one large truck and that things get damaged because of this (he could hardly take my stuff out because of how packed the truck was - btw while getting my stuff out he ended up dropping another persons stuff on the ground, and yes it sounded like glass breaking). He told me that if my stuff is broken that insurance would cover it. On the contract however they dont cover the whole cost, for every 10 pounds of damage they give you .60 cents (this was option 2 - if you go with the company I suggest option 1 where they have to pay the whole cost of your damaged items, just make sure they dont charge you extra for it).
Next, the delivery man claimed that his truck could not enter the apartment complex (which was a lie because of how large the complex was, he didnt want to do it because he accidentally drove past it and didnt want to come back). He left my stuff on the curb outside the complex and when I asked if he would take the stuff into my house (since this was his job) he asked me for an extra 100.00 to finish the job or else he was not going to do it, so I agreed because how was I suppose to carry stuff, like a sofa, from the outside of the complex into the complex and then into my house? He then hired a random guy nearby to move my stuff into my house (which was fine), however he himself never came in to finish the job. My 70 year old mother and I had to help the solo guy get the stuff in. On top of that, the delivery man was suppose to assemble the furniture. My table was not reassembled when I was told explicitly by the delivery men who picked it up from my original location that it would be assembled at my destination and that my items would be taken into the house, this is also in the contract. I made sure of this because I asked them about it specifically. When I talked to the man who came to drop my stuff off and mentioned this to him, he said that if I had an issue, it was with the company and not him. He said if I was unhappy, I should just sue them.
I contacted the company and talked to Sherri. She was helpful and really nice and refunded me 100.00. I was grateful for this and for her help, but I would not recommend this company (or any company where they do bulk transfers of different households) because these types of companies don't really care about your stuff because if they break it, you have to go through insurance and its quite a hassle (not to mention, only .60 per 100 pounds). Make sure to take pictures before the move as well and to keep all documentation. If there are any broken pieces make sure to write it down on their paper before signing. I had to threaten them with unloading and forcing a full refund (I had a series of emails to back me up) to get them to honor my original price.
I gave them a months notice hoping they could move my stuff in after I closed on my house. They refused to make any attempts at a reasonable delivery time. Instead I had to give a first available date and then wait for up to 3 weeks for delivery with only a days notice. Even with all that, they were still a week late from the contractual range for delivery. I ended up living in a house with no furniture for a month.
I'm actually debating suing them for damages due to this late delivery. I didn't even get into the actual damages from the movers putting a hole in my wall, destroying a $1000 bookcase in front of me, or the damaged goods in boxes which were clearly marked fragile but had been crushed. Read More

My estimate was not accurate. They charged me USD 280 extra for pick up and USD 260.00 extra for delivery!
Ryan from Charter Van Lines convinced me that I could trust my moving would be as smooth as possible. Such a lie!
They use a Company called OCEAN MOVING and they couldn't be worse!
Out of my 10 boxes, 1 was missing. Coincidentally, the one missing was labelled "BAR". The 9 boxes I received were looking like they have been smashed from a TRASH TRUCK! Of course, my dishes, cups and crystals were broken!
My sofa arrived with a scratch on the side.
My 65" TV broken. Brand New!!! I packed with a TV BOX and covered with bubble paper to protect.
I called Charter and they told me to contact Ocean who told me to file a Claim.
My total loss was more than 2k and their insurance offered me $100.00. They told me I should get a better Insurance. Of course, I would if I knew they would treat my stuff like trash! Also, they mentioned that they wouldn't pay anything for the box missing because I was not supposed to send a box with liquids ( Why did they take it when picking up the boxes at my place??? ) SO MUCH LIES!
I was very concerned and next time I will just follow my instincts.

Their packers are not at all trained, they came in and just paper warped the glass material. didn't even have bubble wrap with them and dumped into boxes. Some items they didn't box pack and those were missing. My dinnerware was broken, Microwave plate was paper packed and kept in box with other items in it where as I had microwave oven box with all its packing so that was also broken. Mirror was broken. Mattress was dirty as they did not completely wrapped it with cloth. On top it they asked for tip and took that from us by asking for it again and again. Very bad service. Read More
