Moving Squad are crooks and should lose their state licence. I looked into it and most of their 5-star reviews are fake! Moving Squad gave us a quote for a local move and we agreed and I have the contract and photos of everything that they were supposed to move. They raised the price (triple the amount of the contract) after they were half way through the move. When they unloaded the truck they intentionally left pieces of the wall unit and other furniture on the truck until they receive the additional balance. This is one of their little tricks, they hold one part of each bedroom like the dresser and one part of the Livingroom so that none of the furniture would be usable. They broke two cabinets and a desk They lost screws and large parts to a custom $8,900 wall unit and without these pieces of the wall unit, it could not be put together again and It ended up in the trash. Every room in our house now has damaged items and our once pristine home now looks like it is falling apart. DO NOT USE. They gave us movers who dropped and damaged all of our furniture. All of our lamps are broken, brand new furniture is scuffed. Every room in our house now has damaged items and our once pristine home now looks like it is falling apart. We had no choice but to watch as things came into our home in worse condition than they were originally. NOTHING WAS WRAPPED as contracted. They did not properly take apart furniture as contracted. I have a desk I can no longer use to work from home because they did not take it apart as contracted and essentially ripped it into two pieces when they moved it. Then they proceeded to hide the remaining pieces in my garage and we found it after they left even though we directed that furniture to be in a different room. It was intentional. They asked me if my furniture was from IKEA (it’s not) as if cheap furniture was the reason they can’t do their job and things are broken. We called the team out on sloppy work and they told us it’s not their responsibility and to call corporate. ITS NOT YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MOVE MY STUFF SAFELY?!!!!? The damage Moving Squad caused will cost me several times more than the move did to begin with and their customer service DOES NOT CARE. They have not called us back and we moved in May. The Moving Squad damaged multiple and valuable items in our move. As a veteran of at least 10 moving company moves, my experience with them was the worst by far. The full extent of the damages did not become clear for a very long time due to the unusual circumstances of our move. We sold our Coconut Grove townhouse winter home in March 2020 but had not yet bought another. Moving Squad moved our belongings into storage, then out of storage at the end of October and into the condo we ultimately purchased. I was put off at the start of the move when the team leader advised me “we are looking for a big tip when we are done”. But the guys worked hard and seemed to be wrapping and packing with care. I was roaming about the home and naturally did not watch each item get packed. At one point I went off to a nearby store to get cold drinks for the guys. When I returned, I saw a bedroom dresser being slid down our wooden, uncovered stairs (the dresser, the second of two, was wrapped in a moving blanket). When I complained, I was told “relax, the blanket keeps it protected’. When the first Moving Squad crew finished packing the storage unit, I tipped each of the four crew members $100. My wife and I drove back to New England. I returned solo in October to direct the move out of storage and into our recently purchased condo. None of the four- member Moving Squad crew that showed up had worked the initial move. The first inkling of a problem was when one of the crew brought me a glass and chrome ‘V’ shaped magazine rack. A huge piece of glass from one side was broken out. (See picture) I asked how that happened. The Moving Squad team member said “It was only wrapped in one blanket, not cardboard and then blankets. Don’t take it out on us when it comes time to tip.” This item sells for $5-600. Later, in one of the last tasks of the move, the guys put the two dressers where I requested. Then they took off the blankets. The top edges of both were gouged, one severely. (See Pictures) My obvious anger lead one of the team to say “No wonder those other guys didn’t want to come back for Phase Two”! (I just got the dressers back from repair (February)…$1100.) Another observation about the professionalism of these crews is nobody had a clue about how to put down an area rug over a rug pad and get it smooth! Despite these letdowns, I once again tipped generously. These guys were not getting steady work in the pandemic. Naturally I did not find all the damages before the second crew left. The next day I unpacked a large box labeled “lamps”. When I opened the box, one glass lamp was in a hundred pieces. I got a call back the next day which resulted in claims forms, etc. I filed the claims with pictures and waited. After about five weeks I called to follow up. I was told rather brusquely that “we have 60 days to respond”. A few days later I was offered $50 and change for my damages. Their damage limitation should not apply in the case of gross negligence, which, IMO, they committed. My wife and I traveled to Miami the first week of February to finally take up winter residence in our new home. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! SCARED THEY KNOW WHERE I LIVE! I am a native Floridian and a licensed realtor, so I am not new to moving, but this company was UNETHICAL and borderline CRIMINAL. There is a character limit, but feel free to email me for more details []. Upon arrival the lead guy told me that they wouldn't move my piano which was clearly listed on the inventory. 20 minutes later, he sent one of his guys in to negotiate and got me to agree to pay them $160 in cash to move the piano. He said "they needed the money more than the company and it was hard times so I should help them instead of giving money to someone that doesn't need it." Within an hour after that, one of the workers gave me his personal number on a piece of paper for "when I need help". I clearly told him that I wouldn't be moving again any time soon and he told me to "keep it". He proceeded to give my friend that was helping a piece of paper with his number and said the same thing. About an hour later I was called outside for the lead guy on the truck to tell me that I was getting close to the weight limit and he was going to have to call his office and they were going to double my price. I assured him that my estimate was accurate and the weight wasn't going to be an issue (I rcvd 4 quotes from competitors [one in person and one facetime] and used the inventory from their quotes for this move, so it was accurate to the piece. I was also assured by my salesman that the weight didn't matter; it was based on hours & as long as the inventory was accurate, it would never be a problem. They continued with the move and then one of the workers came in urgently asking me for medical supplies because the guy on the truck cut his leg. I opened several boxes to find supplies, but still can't understand how a moving truck doesn't have their own first aid kit!!???? And to later find his BLOOD ALL OVER my yellow upholstered loveseat is appalling. After many more concerning issues, I was called out to be told that they would have to make 2 trips because the weight was too much and he "didn't want to double my price". I now understood the phone #. They had intentionally left a few large, heavy items that couldn't fit in my car. We got to the new house and the guys were dragging and cranky. They weren't taking furniture upstairs and were arguing about who would do what. They would only take furniture upstairs after I would ask repeatedly and leave it unassembled in the floor or in the wrong room. One of the workers actually flattered MY YOUNG TEEN into helping him with her bedroom furniture (which is the heaviest). My daughter had just spent 10 days in ICU for a liver laceration and the slightest jolt could be LIFE THREATENING!!!!! I was then told that they weren't going back for the remaining items because it was too late in the day & they were done. There were at least 10 pieces of furniture severely damaged & I was told "don't worry, you can file a claim". They left at least 12-15 boxes in the garage that needed to go upstairs and a file cabinet. The guy in charge told me to pay him AND THEN CALL HIM and he would go rent a truck & get the rest of the stuff so that I didn't have to PAY DOUBLE. He was trying to THREATEN ME into using him! I told him that I've never seen so many things damaged & there was no way I was doing that. I paid him and he forced me to fill out a review in front of the guys. I reluctantly gave them a 3 & said "the guys were friendly" knowing at that point, they all knew where I lived. He walked out of the house cussing because he was so angry. I followed them out to close the garage and he got nasty and YELLED "are you going to tip these guys or what??!!!" Again, reluctant based on a terrible job I walked in the garage to count some cash. Please think twice before doing any business with this moving company! After what we went through with them, I genuinely doubt their legitimacy. Nothing can honestly describe the horrific experience and the trauma we left with after having Moving Squad making our move. It started by first coordinating our move with Ryan, which calculated our inventory by going room by room, estimated how many movers we need, hours, and gave us an offer. On the day of the move, the movers were 2 hours late and came short with only two movers instead of 3 as initially agreed. It was already the middle of the day, and from what we understood they finished an earlier move before arriving to do our place. They barely moved stuff; it took them 5 hours to move only boxes! When we called Ryan and raised all those issues and concerns, he directed us to his supervisor and said that he could not help us! Ryan’s supervisor blamed us for having more items in our inventory, which was not true! Ryan was the one who calculated the inventory, not us. Nevertheless, this claim was proven not to be the case later that day. What a terrible customer service!! Eventually, they decided (not us) to send an additional truck and additional movers and charged us for everything, including additional extra 2 hours, which they didn’t use, and until now they have not refunded us. They requested us to sign a document (Non-disclosure agreement) that meant to keep us silent if we wanted to receive a refund for the 2 hours they charged unlawfully. We, of course, refused to sign this. The original offer we received from Ryan was $1,058 for three movers and 7 hours. Please think twice before doing any business with this moving company! After what we went through with them, I genuinely doubt their legitimacy. Nothing can honestly describe the horrific experience and the trauma we left with after having Moving Squad making our move. It started by first coordinating our move with Ryan, which calculated our inventory by going room by room, estimated how many movers we need, hours, and gave us an offer. On the day of the move, the movers were 2 hours late and came short with only two movers instead of 3 as initially agreed. It was already the middle of the day, and from what we understood they finished an earlier move before arriving to do our place. They barely moved stuff; it took them 5 hours to move only boxes! When we called Ryan and raised all those issues and concerns, he directed us to his supervisor and said that he could not help us! Ryan’s supervisor blamed us for having more items in our inventory, which was not true! Ryan was the one who calculated the inventory, not us. Nevertheless, this claim was proven not to be the case later that day. What a terrible customer service!! Eventually, they decided (not us) to send an additional truck and additional movers and charged us for everything, including additional extra 2 hours, which they didn’t use, and until now they have not refunded us. They requested us to sign a document (Non-disclosure agreement) that meant to keep us silent if we wanted to receive a refund for the 2 hours they charged unlawfully. We, of course, refused to sign this. The original offer we received from Ryan was $1,058 for three movers and 7 hours. Worst experience ever!!!! They were advised that we had a move out time window and the first thing they do is arrive 20 minutes late. Do not use them for any high rise building move outs, they will over promise and under deliver. They were more focused on moving out boxes and not taking apart our bedroom sets, because of that, the majority of our bedroom sets were left in the 35th Floor and it has been 2 days since our move and we are still without our bedroom sets. Finally, they left one of our pieces of furniture in the 1st floor of the building and were overheard by one of the maintenance people "to leave it behind" and it is still there!! I informed the moving company of all these details and all they could do was apologize and tell me that they understand, however, I received no comment when I sent them the picture of the furniture they left behind. I paid over $2000 for a Failed move. They also charge for fuel (15% of the total moving estimate which they say is for overhead, which makes me wonder how they come up with their hourly price of $115.00). Other companies don't charge the fuel surcharge on a percentage basis. They also charge for overtime (time and a half) if they pass 8 eight hours, so beware of how long they say in the estimate. In summary, they stress they are professionals and come in late as well as hire people who smell like they haven't taken a bath in several weeks. They state that they do a background check on everyone they hire; however, one of the movers admitted that they would rather be smoking weed (who also happened to be the driver). And the head of the crew was only concerned at the end of making sure all the paperwork was signed to cover themselves but takes no responsibility in leaving a piece of furniture behind on purpose. I would dubb the company, MOVING MOB for what they charged us. I would not pay $1 more to finish the move with them since they went way past the agreed amount and Failed to move all our items. They started the move at 10am and at 3pm they were forced to stop due to the elevator breaking down. Once again they were advised that we had a move out window of 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. I would have preferred to hire a group of people from a nearby home improvement store and rent a moving truck myself then to hire this company which all they cared was to get paid and at the end get a tip for a Failed move.
