Went off reviews when I was looking for a moving company. Hired them to pack and move my whole house. It was a three day process. They were very polite and fast. I thought all was well and tipped each man working $100 for each day. I was feeling generous and thankful. The move was around 9k and moved only 15 min away. They did a ton of work packing. I had a lot of new furniture. Unfortunately I didn't see the damage until unpacking and settling. Several pieces of furniture damaged. I called and they sent someone to "fix" the pieces, but nothing held up or looked like it was. After speaking to customer service, found out I should have read the fine print... basically they made zero effort to make things right. Cost me a lot in damage. A Queen bed frame, 2 ottomans, a large cabinet, a few heirloom pieces, and a Chanel bag gone missing. (They said this had never happened before). Come to find out, it has with this company. Maybe it's the luck of the crew... but it was a loss that I felt like they never truly cared to make right...they already had my money and that was that. The reviews look good now, so hopefully they are doing better. It took me a long time to finally write this. Still wish I could have recovered my bag. Our experience wasn’t heavenly. In the moment we thought it was ok, good enough we gave them a sizable tip that we would come to regret as we unpacked. We had them pack most of our things. Maybe the others leaving the good reviews didn’t? I can’t figure out why our service was so vastly different! Our final price was 1/3 more than our quote, even though we had packed our entire kitchen (thankfully). The initial arrival process was unsettling. The team lead had an iPad and was scrolling through things asking me to sign and initial in multiple places. I asked what I was signing, the explanation was very brief. They wanted to get started and didn’t want to take the time to go through it. I was told they’d go back through it once the job was done. They said that they could move our hot tub. Come moving day, they did not have a sled or any equipment for this. By the time we got to unloading the hot tub, my husband and 2 of our friends had to help. My husband’s had a hip replacement and needs the other done - why we hired movers. Not cool. The space needed for the hot tub was apparently part of why the quote was 1/3 less than the final price. But the hot tub was included in the quote. One of the movers then followed me around the new house asking me if I have tweezers for a sliver he had. I’m trying to figure out which box has tweezers. He had packed the tweezers and moved the boxes. I just didn’t know what to say but he just kept following me. The most negligent thing was that when they r e-assembled our solid wood Cal. King bed, they put the wooden side rails on the wrong sides. When the brackets didn’t line up with the existing holes, rather than asking for suggestions, they screwed all I’ll new holes into our bed frame!!! 😡 In this process, their drill must’ve slipped and they gouged the wood in multiple places. The screws were completely stripped. Some of the brackets didn’t have screws in one side or the other as well. My husband was literally right outside the room while they were assembling. Had they just asked, he could’ve told what was wrong. We discovered this the next day (the bed was wobbly) - this was not ok! My husband needs to help move the hot tub but you can’t check with him before screwing new holes into our bed!?! As soon as we discovered the extent of damage done to our bed frame, we asked if we could at least get part of our tip back but that was not given. The replacement insurance is measly, hardly worth the time to file a claim and this is a Cal King bed. Not easily replaceable. I called and reported this asked for our tip back at least - nope. My husband’s archery bow was shoved into a wardrobe box with 2x4s, a longboard and large wooden hand painted pilgrims - they didn’t fare very well. Some things were wrapped beautifully and then vases or decorations were just shoved in boxes with other random things. An empty box was packed, taped and labeled- weird. A bathroom that had the doors shut and a sign taped “do not pack” was packed as well. General poor communication. Had they just asked, he could’ve told what was wrong. We discovered this the next day (the bed was wobbly) - this was not ok! As soon as we discovered the extent of damage done to our bed frame, we asked if we could at least get part of our tip back but that was not given. But the hot tub was included in the quote. One of the movers then followed me around the new house asking me if I have tweezers for a sliver he had. I’m trying to figure out which box has tweezers. He had packed the tweezers and moved the boxes. I just didn’t know what to say but he just kept following me. The most negligent thing was that when they r e-assembled our solid wood Cal. King bed, they put the wooden side rails on the wrong sides. When the brackets didn’t line up with the existing holes, rather than asking for suggestions, they screwed all I’ll new holes into our bed frame!!! 😡 In this process, their drill must’ve slipped and they gouged the wood in multiple places. The screws were completely stripped. Some of the brackets didn’t have screws in one side or the other as well. My husband was literally right outside the room while they were assembling. Had they just asked, he could’ve told what was wrong. We discovered this the next day (the bed was wobbly) - this was not ok! My husband needs to help move the hot tub but you can’t check with him before screwing new holes into our bed!?! As soon as we discovered the extent of damage done to our bed frame, we asked if we could at least get part of our tip back but that was not given. The replacement insurance is measly, hardly worth the time to file a claim and this is a Cal King bed. Not easily replaceable. I called and reported this asked for our tip back at least - nope. My husband’s archery bow was shoved into a wardrobe box with 2x4s, a longboard and large wooden hand painted pilgrims - they didn’t fare very well. Some things were wrapped beautifully and then vases or decorations were just shoved in boxes with other random things. An empty box was packed, taped and labeled- weird. A bathroom that had the doors shut and a sign taped “do not pack” was packed as well. General poor communication. We communicated with the team leader and the other members didn’t get some of the messages. I had a desk that we had disassembled and stacked neatly in our garage prior to the move. When they put it in the new house, the lead tried to tell me it didn’t have any drawers and seemed annoyed when I said it definitely did. We finally found that one of the movers had shoved all the drawers in a wardrobe box - punching a hole through the bottom of one of the drawers (by the corner of another drawer). They used a ton of wardrobe boxes and they charge a considerable amount ($40 I think) for those boxes. Throughout the process they took the time to answer my questions - showing me that they understood the while moving is “everyday” for their team, it was a big life event for our family. From the day leading up to packing to the delivery day the team at Heavenly stayed in personal communication with texts and phone calls leading up to their on-time arrival. They were professional, respectful and fun! Packing was done professionally and thoroughly including packing blankets and wrap. Glass was packed efficiently and safely. It was clear that some of the team members did not work together weekly however two of the four team members were long standing employees of Heavenly and clearly managed the process and stayed on top of all actions which gave us peace of mind. Moving to the Charleston area we had some stairs to climb. The team carefully and efficiently moved in our items and did it with no complaints! With any move there are hiccups. During our move we had painters and other workers who were delayed, meaning they were in the house during the unpacking (chaotic!!). The team did a great job making the process as easy as possible and showing their understanding for the events out of our control. A move is still a move and I would always recommend someone from your household be present through a move project to confirm special items are handled properly and that items (especially big ones!) are in the right place. Make a list of big actions that you want to make sure are completed - moving is physically and emotionally exhausting for the homeowner and the movers. Having a list to go back to will ensure the job is completed to everyones standards. Take the time to walk your house twice before movers leave. While some have shared their experience with Heavenly Care Moving being positive, ours was not. Many of our items were damaged, as was our home during move in. Our quote was significantly lower than the actual cost which was due to the movers saying they had to make two trips because we had too much furniture. This was unnecessary as we actually had them move less than what was quoted when planning. The response to this complaint was that we must have bought more furniture, which was ridiculous. We had actually sold two rooms of furniture before moving out. They refused to review the inventory that was given to them when we received our quote. Many of those items they didn't move at all. but still they needed to make two trips. Also, shouldn't the moving company know how to adequately quote a move? In addition we dealt with the following issues: The movers had to leave for two hours to obtain moving bands as well. Filing a damage claim and working with Austin (a Manager) and Scott (the owner per Austin), has been a nightmare. While they did send a furniture repair person to attend to some of the damage, there were two items they refuse to repair or replace. One of these being a commercial sit/stand electric desk and a 65 inch television that we had just purchased new in December 2019. They told us they refused to repair or replace the desk because it was usable because it had been broken while in the sitting position. This was simply an excuse to avoid repair/replacement. The desk was lowered during the move in a position that is too low to stand and too high to sit. The 65 inch television was hit against something and cracked/smashed. Even though we just purchased it in December we were told they would only reimburse us .60 cents a pound and it didn't weigh much. Many other items we just have to live with. Communication with this company is also terrible. Austin was rude and made several promises of our claim being worked for weeks. When we became frustrated as each Friday passed that was the date he would work the claim and call to inquire he told us he didn't have to work the claim until 90 days had passed. When we then attempted to contact the owner. Scott, his only response was that he was unwilling to f=do more that the .60 cents, period, and accused of of being rude to Austin. I'm also sorry you feel this way and that you did not elect additional valuation ("insurance") that was mentioned and offered on multiple occasions. In the end, I offered to pay you far more than what the law requires any moving company to pay. Again. I'm sorry we didn't meet expectations, but I can only pay so much when you did not elect greater coverage. We have exceeded all state and federal laws moving companies are required to follow regarding damages. Our response to this continuation of horrendous service and/or support: We did not elect additional valuation ("insurance") because we didn't know it existed. It was never offered. Even if it was, YOU ARE CLEARLY REFUSING TO HELP YOUR CUSTOMERS. OFFERING US $120 IS AN INSULT. For consumers out there looking for a moving company, this is their leader. Take heed. He makes excuses for poor customer service and clearly doesn't care how badly your personal items and homes are damaged. He also allows his employees to be rude and disrespectful. We made an error by not knowing about paying extra for damage coverage, don't let that be you. Sad to say I most likely can't recommend or use Heavenly Care Moving ever again even after spending close to $15k with them and repeat business over the years. I have used their services 3 times in 2 years (I move around a lot). 2 times long distance out of state, this last time a local move. The 2 times before were great- Benny the owner took care of us, sent us an A-team crew, helped us through some difficult last minute curve balls all the while being patient and accommodating, positive and friendly. Well for this 3rd time I contacted Benny and he informed me he has sold the Moving company. Ok, I thought I'd still give them a chance. Well Andrew set us up, made that process very easy and even let us reschedule our moving day 2 times because our contractors at our new house failed to meet completion dates. That part gets 5 stars. Sadly the most important part (Moving) I can only give 3 stars. The guys that we got were nice I suppose except for 1 of the 2 guys not speaking to me at all even when I asked a question. Whatever. So I've said I moved twice before, this was the 3rd time. With the same amount of stuff... less actually. We decided to leave behind some furniture on this last move so therefore there was LESS for this crew to move. The 2 times prior to this move it was 2.5 to 3 hours to load and 2 hours to unload. Both 2 times it was under 5 hours! Somehow this crew took 7.5 hours!!! They just weren't in a hurry. But my biggest complaint is that I am finding kitchen boxes in guest bedrooms, living room boxes in the garage, even a box of drinking glasses in a closet! Wtf?! I just asked that the boxes in each room be put in the same room in the new house (kitchen boxes in the kitchen, guest bedroom boxes in the guest bedroom, master boxes in master bedroom, etc). All of these boxes are CLEARLY labeled, they even have Moving tape on them that state the desired location. Ugh!!! They also broke one of my table legs and didn't make us aware of it. They just put the table (which came from a guest bedroom) in the garage upside down with the broken piece nearby. Kinda dishonest if you ask me. They also piled boxes in the middle of the rooms rather than allow a clear pathway... Im paying them to move boxes- not to have to move boxes after they move boxes. They also put the frame of our bed together incorrectly so after a night of backaches we were able to fix it. Now mind you I have spent almost $15,000 with Heavenly- that's right. $15k. $7k from Austin to Reno, $7k from Reno to Austin, and now $960 from Austin to Kyle. In the past I have sent personal emails to perspective clients of Heavenly giving them my utmost praise and recognition. Now with the new owner did I get any kind of follow up or check in to see how it went? ABSOLUTELY NOT. I DID however just get accused of bouncing a check! What the actual beep?!!! Scott (new owner) said he just got bank notification that one of the checks that he received from clients was "returned" and he was calling to see if it was me. Are you kidding?! My move was 10 days ago and they cashed my check right away. Completely insulting. And to make it 100x's worse no "hey how was your move?" Or even "thanks for your business". That's when I decided to write this review. Nope nope nope. Can't recommend them and that sucks. Was planning on having them move my mom from CA out to Austin area soon (which they're missing out on another $?k from me) and now I have to search for a new mover. Lame lame lame. Miss you Benny!
