This company is terrible! I chose them based on great reviews, and seriously regret it. They started well, but it was a bait and switch. Ian did an initial "binding" quote (which of course went great). That was the bait. Then came the switch with Eli. Upon the crew arriving to my home for pickup, they suddenly claimed I had more stuff and upcharged to the tune of $1000. They made sure that the updated "contract" form they used at this time did not even check off that the new quote was binding. They then added another $800 charge to deliver my items because they claimed they had to transfer them from an 18 wheeler to a 20 foot truck ("shuttle") because the 18 wheeler "wouldn't fit" in my neighborhood. However, the only notice I got of this was when they make me sign the contract on pickup as a disclaimer checkbox. They then threw it in me to contact the police department to find out if an 18 wheeler would even fit, only to call later and say they checked wouldn't. When we asked why they didn't tell us from the start, they claimed they didn't know and had no way of knowing when doing the booking. I checked and an 18 wheeler can definitely fit in the neighborhood, so either they were lying or their driver isn't particularly skilled. I even called Ian to check on this and he didn't answer, though Eli did and was extremely rude. Finally, when the truck arrived at my new home, the driver forced me to sign the paperwork even before opening the truck, let alone unloading, claiming that's how it works, despite their own paperwork saying to only sign at the end and note damages, etc. Another chance and violation of the contract was the changes to the forms of payments. They initially said pickup could be with credit card (with a 5% fee) and so could dropoff. Then after pickup, Eli told me that it had to be cash or Zelle on delivery. Upon arrival, the driver also forced me to send payment before unloading, despite it being standard for afterwards. However, I quickly saw why they would want signatures and money before even opening the truck, because if I had known the volume of items they lost and damaged, I definitely wouldn't have paid! How do you lose a 10 foot ladder?!? They also claimed to forget 2 other items in the warehouse (delivered later, but no mention of my ladder). On top of that, they fraudulently charged my daughter's credit card for the delivery (without authorization) at the same time they threatened me as I was dealing with a Zelle issue. Which brings us to damages and more lies. When I sent photos of damage and itemized lists of both damages and loss, these got ignored by Eli, who initially said he would make it right, and when pressed, eventually gave the number for the claims processing center. I asked why he would ask for photos and say he would make things right if he has no intentions to do so. He claimed he asked for the photos to avoid similar damages in the future, which is an obvious lie, because the answer is clearly "handle belongings with actual care, including packing, loading, unloading, and assembly (if any)." They have a claims process for the damage/loss (which is a nightmare), but what about the volume the lost items they took and they charged me for? All in all, between the damages, theft, upcharges, and having to replace my missing/broken items, it is to the tune of at least $3500. I will update this review when the claims department finishes handling this but as of right now I'm very disappointed and dissatisfied with my experience with Green Van Lines. I was moving from South Florida to Montana, and they convinced me that because they are a local moving company they would be the best people to go with. Crunched for time, I went ahead and believed them and went with them. Once my stuff was picked up on January 27, I went up to Montana and waited. The delivery happened on February 17, 2022. It wasn't even their company or the truck that picked my stuff up that showed up to deliver. So they have loaded my stuff possibly into to warehouses and gave it to other companies. The company that delivered was Atlantic van lines. Who also mistakenly gave me someone else's very intimate things because they got mixed up with their sticker system they use. Once I got everything I realized I was missing stuff, and a lot of things were damaged. I went on to file a claim but they're making it very hard, they said I had to contact the company to do warehouse search, which i did and said they didn't find anything. I just got off the phone with the executive Director of the claims department, Lisa, and she was very rude to me and insinuated that I was lying about how much was missing(used the words insurance fraud, i guess to try to intimidate me) because I got the missing box number mixed up. I have a newborn and a toddler and this whole situation has been so stressful and confusing. She also said that she believed I was driving and we couldn't continue the call, I told her I was on the couch in my house. She told me she thought it was odd that so many things were missing and that she spoke to the moving company(Green Van Lines) and they agreed that since my load was so small, that the number of missing items was peculiar. I told her that I was missing that number of items and the number of items damaged is insane in itself. I unfortunately have never moved with movers before so I didn't know I needed insurance and I just got the free insurance that they tack onto the contract. Which is $.60 per pound by the way. I have thousands of dollars of damage and missing items, and I'll probably only get back about 200 if I get back anything at all because they are making this so hard. This is a scam, these people come to you and act like they have such good customer service and they're going to take care of your things, they do not and they make it very hard for you to file a claim and get any of your money back. I spent nearly $7000 on these movers(all of our savings) and now I'm dealing with thousands more in damages and missing items. Please do your research, I really regret that I didn't do mine, if I would have I would've seen the nasty reviews on yelp, Facebook, and everything else. There's a review on Facebook almost exactly my experience. But yet they insinuated that it's so odd that this happened to me and mentioned disbelief in number of missing items. I'm so disgusted with how I'm being treated when I myself just lost out on thousands of dollars and trusted these people. I will attach photos under this review, and I will come back and edit if this gets resolved in a better manner, and if it doesn't I'll come back and edit to add that too. So far I've had a horrible experience and I'm so sad for my family that the only stuff that we own is broken or damaged and not being taken seriously, and that we just paid so much money to get it moved by people who were supposed to keep it safe and didn't. She told me she thought it was odd that so many things were missing and that she spoke to the moving company(Green Van Lines) and they agreed that since my load was so small, that the number of missing items was peculiar. I unfortunately have never moved with movers before so I didn't know I needed insurance and I just got the free insurance that they tack onto the contract. Which is $.60 per pound by the way. I have thousands of dollars of damage and missing items, and I'll probably only get back about 200 if I get back anything at all because they are making this so hard. This is a scam, these people come to you and act like they have such good customer service and they're going to take care of your things, they do not and they make it very hard for you to file a claim and get any of your money back. I spent nearly $7000 on these movers(all of our savings) and now I'm dealing with thousands more in damages and missing items. Please do your research, I really regret that I didn't do mine, if I would have I would've seen the nasty reviews on yelp, Facebook, and everything else. There's a review on Facebook almost exactly my experience. But yet they insinuated that it's so odd that this happened to me and mentioned disbelief in number of missing items. I'm so disgusted with how I'm being treated when I myself just lost out on thousands of dollars and trusted these people. I will update this review when the claims department finishes handling this but as of right now I'm very disappointed and dissatisfied with my experience with Green Van Lines. I was moving from South Florida to Montana, and they convinced me that because they are a local moving company they would be the best people to go with. Crunched for time, I went ahead and believed them and went with them. Once my stuff was picked up on January 27, I went up to Montana and waited. The delivery happened on February 17, 2022. It wasn't even their company or the truck that picked my stuff up that showed up to deliver. So they have loaded my stuff possibly into to warehouses and gave it to other companies. The company that delivered was Atlantic van lines. Who also mistakenly gave me someone else's very intimate things because they got mixed up with their sticker system they use. Once I got everything I realized I was missing stuff, and a lot of things were damaged. I went on to file a claim but they're making it very hard, they said I had to contact the company to do warehouse search, which i did and said they didn't find anything. I just got off the phone with the executive Director of the claims department, Lisa, and she was very rude to me and insinuated that I was lying about how much was missing(used the words insurance fraud, i guess to try to intimidate me) because I got the missing box number mixed up. I have a newborn and a toddler and this whole situation has been so stressful and confusing. I haven't not even worked with this company yet and do not trust them. So, a few days ago I filled out Yelp's moving questionnaire that automatically sends out your info to local moving companies for quotes. Green Van Lines was one of seven companies that I was paired with. Everyone else was very timely, respectful, and gave great info along with means of contacting them for more specific quotes. I did this at about 9 a.m., right before I left for work, and in the span of one hour I received five missed calls from Green Van Lines, back-to-back, with no voicemail. This annoyed me since they were calling at about 10 a.m. on a week day where most individuals are at work (including me) and cannot answer phone calls. Because of this, I already decided I would take my business elsewhere. The following day, I received three back-to-back calls from them at about noon, still on a weekday, and answered on the third. I was stuck in a crappy service area so when I answered, I assumed they couldn't hear me, and got an attitude from the man on the other end and he hung up on me. Then, today, I received SEVEN back-to-back missed calls from the same man (during work hours on a weekday, of course) After seeing this behavior, and the other bad reviews, I would not recommend this place!
