Had to make a long haul move. When talking to a few friends they told me that Bobby Lopez works for Good Greek. So we reached out and got a moving quote for moving from NJ to FL. Bobby was knowledgeable and easy to work with, any questions we had he was all over it. Moving truck showed up exactly how it was planned out. Upon loading up all of our belongings we had a small issue with us having way more stuff than expected, Bobby stepped up and got everything situated and kept the process smooth and easy. Upon closing on our house the moving crew had called me to let me know they would be in a day early which worked out great for us. Couldn’t have asked for a smoother process in a stressful time. I think everyone should know the following that if your possessions are going into storage, all of your insurance coverages will be null and void. Do they tell you that? No. It's in one of the sections in the 12 page contract. Again, silly me for just signing quickly as many of us do on these lengthy, legalese contracts. No to the meat of the issue: 1. Never took the time to get the bedroom area rug partly under the bed flat. To this day, there's nothing but ripples throughout. 2. A cracked corner in my 1" thick glass, coffee table. 3. When the movers wrapped everything for the move, they wrapped four expensive lacquered stools in blankets with ample tape. However, because they're not aware of the delicate nature of lacquer, the taped was directly on the surface -- and a lot of the products to remove stuff can ruin the lacquer finish. Good Greek will not send anyone out to evaluate the damage. Why? because it was in storage for six weeks. I understand that when you move to a public storage, it's out of their control which, in a we can influence the movers to be less careful. Their storage is about 3 times the price of others. 3. I've reached out on multiple occasions giving you ample opportunity to rectify any issues with my move that was on FEBRUARY 25th!!! I emailed the gentleman that set up the move the night of the 25th. No response. I had to go on the website to the "get a free estimate" box (of course they'll respond to that $$) for a second time since there is no direct email contact on the site and I had no voice to reach out via phone call since I was sick. That finally got some someone to email me on March 3rd. The email I received said "We have reached out to you both on move date as well as after the move. Please let me know if there is anything I can assist with." I replied via email and explained that I did speak to the follow up phone call employee and told her all of the issues and she said she'd address it. I also sent screenshots of the email I sent out on the 25th. I never got a response after my email or the phone call. That's 3 people I never heard back from. It's sad that in order to get anyone's attention, I have had to chase you down and write something like this. Here are a few of my major qualms....Your company sent only 2 guys out when I was contracted for 3. This was a 3 man job. Since only 2 showed up, this meant that I had to pack and move to make up for that missing set of hands. What the heck did I pay you $1800 for?! $300 of that was for the 2 guys who got shafted being a man down and my only request to them was to make the storage unit accessible. I'm more than happy to overtip and make sure the people doing the manual labor get paid but HA! My storage unit that I was told I'd get a picture of when they finished the job (which I didn't) is insane. I see my stuff just thrown in there. Aren't they professionals? Shouldn't they know how to pack a storage unit? As nice as the guys were, one of them didn't understand English so any labels I had on boxes I packed were not read. Any verbal instructions I gave were not followed. Despite acknowledging me, I didn't know he didn't understand me until about half way into my move. My other issue is not one box is labeled and the piles I had separated out got all mixed up so I have no idea where any important documents, medications for me and my dog, what has glass in it, my items that I sell on eBay, etc., are located. I had a separate pile for only me to pack and guess what happened? I wasn't the one who packed it because the gentleman didn't understand what I was asking. There were also several cabinets and an entire bathroom that were missed so I had to quickly pack that up and get several heavy boxes to the movers at the storage unit. My place was left a wreck. I wasn't that upset about it but it's worth mentioning. Had there have been 3 people sent out, I could've used my time to monitor the move, label boxes, and make that move work like a well oiled machine! I won't even tell you why that third person didn't show up but maybe you should ask him. But wait, some guy from the company did show up...to take pictures for marketing Haha!! I thought he was there to lend a hand. I looked at him like he was crazy as not only was he wasting my time, but why would I want pictures to remember this?! I hired PROFESSIONAL movers because I needed PROFESSIONAL help. I hired these people to tell me what to do. I hired these people because not only was I extremely sick, I'm a small statured woman (5'2"/98lbs) with a compromised immune system/health issues and here I was busting my ass but paying YOU and the movers almost two grand when I told you I couldn't afford this in the first place?!? I could've hired 2 random guys if I wanted this kind of job done. The gentleman that set up my move is incredible at his job because he sure was amazing at making me a believer. Give him a raise. My move was from my house to a storage unit .8miles away and was a 1 bedroom apartment. Don't even get me started on the hidden fees. Sweet invoice by the way. They make you pay before the move is even completed. Charged me for 6.75 hours which is inaccurate but whatever. Does anyone else get paid $150 to drive to work on top of covering fuel costs for that drive? Because I know .8miles does not cost $247.95 in fuel. $85 in materials?All I was aware of was one roll of packing tape which I think you charge $7-$8 for and an $18 mattress bag which I declined but he didn't understand me. I can't wait to open up these boxes and see what's broken or lost. Any time I asked where something was, I got a shrug. I also had a disassembled item with small parts all neatly placed together and when when I asked where the pieces were, I got a shrug. Keeping everything that needed to be together (or at the very least, labeling it) was imperative. I sell stuff for a living and this is costing me money. Good Greek? More like Good Grief. They broke a few things including a brand new 85" TV that cost us $2500 and did not help us cover for the damages because the insurance we purchase did not cover it. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. Used them on a whim when the other moving company didn't show. Movers were extremely slow. So slow that I was helping them move things on and off the truck. One of the movers dropped one of our nightstands down a flight a outside stairs. Then they charged us 1 hour of travel time for a 5 minute drive. While unloading the truck, the movers gauged our new luxury vinyl floors. I immediately brought it to their attention and they just shrugged it off and told us to contact their main office. Filed a claim with the main office and received this response, "according to the terms of your contract, standard coverage does not include any or all damage to driveways, sidewalks, lawns, floors, walls, ceilings, doors, windows, carpet rails, roofs, gutters, etc. For this reason, we have no choice but to deny your claim." The WORST MOVING CO. EVER As I expressed to ******* this had to be the worst moving service Ever.!! We were finally able to sort through the mess left behind by Good Greek moving. I cannot begin to tell you how disgusted I am with the experience with this moving company. Good Greek moving moved my father this past Saturday to an assisted living facility. He has dementia. One of his TV's was damaged in the move . The only way to file a claim is on paper via US postal service . Yet they email you all the documents / contracts prior to the move with E sign .This company is clearly making the claim process difficult. I paid over 1000$ for a few items and a 15 mile move . Did not mind paying if his things arrived in tact . Now my father is not able to watch his TV. As I said - he has dementia and is sitting in quiet . I am going to go buy him a new one . The Supervisor of the move was good, but several movers did not speak English and completely ignored specific requests. They left almost a dozen moving blankets with items they never unwrapped and put back together. They said this was the "Super Hero" service. Besides the issues with the pricing as mentioned in my #1 above. They showed up with 2 guys (and the undersized truck). There was one guy who although new with the company was nice however the other man was older and was rude & rough. He was pissed and did not want to work that day as he made it apparent the moment he stepped into our home. It took these 2 guys from Noon to past 8PM to finish! My husband and I has also helped them to move the process along. We had to push boxes into the main room to hurry them up. My dad came to relieve us as we were very tired. When we left and was asked to pay the bill which was over $1000 from the estimate - we were pissed. Had them call "their boss" (I don't recall his name) but he was like dealing with a used car salesman. We told him what were quoted and since they had to call in another truck (and we paid to have to wait for the other truck over 1 hour) we didn't want to pay as it was their fault, & we were very unhappy. He said he would refund us $300 for the inconvenience which we NEVER RECEIVED. But had to pay the $2800 then. 3) After the pickup day being a stressed nightmare, we weren't looking forward to the day for them to drop our stuff off at our new home. Well, no surprise it was a shit show just like the pickup day. This time they showed up with 3 guys (although one just watched & guided the other two guys). A corner of our NEW leather sectional couch was ripped, and my dining table was put in the truck upright under stacked sectional couch pieces that had fell onto the table and broke it in half. To say we were upset was an understatement. This day was supposed to be happy moving into our new home, but it turned stressful once again! The guys saw right away and took pictures and called the office to tell them what was going on (ultimately for them to do NOTHING ABOUT IT). We also noticed a new round mirror was missing & shelving unit was missing pieces. There is NO SYSTEM in place to inventory your stuff by the way. Who knows what else is missing as I am still unpacking? They place yellow number stickers on your items. Since this was our first time with movers, I guess you need to write down yourself how many boxes you have and what is exactly in them as movers like these don't care about your stuff, what goes missing or what gets damaged. We had high hopes for a good move with this company, but unfortunately it was not even close to being as told and expected. Movers showed up at 11:15pm (we were told afternoon), there were supposed to be 5 people to load our 5 bedroom house (3 came, and one last an hour then slept all night in the truck. Do not hire this company! We hired them to pack the entire contents of our 4,500 sq ft home. We asked them to leave only the furniture and the wall art. We were in and out of the house all day and asked them to call us prior to departure so that we can do a walk through. They didn't call before they left the and showed up at the new house with the truck saying they could not unload until we paid them in full. After opening them we found that many of them were only ¼- full with the contents thrown in without care. Rather than hanging the clothing in the garment bags, they were thrown at the bottom of the box. When we went back to the old house we found that there were closets, cabinets, bathrooms, bookshelves (and more) that were still full of stuff that hadn't been packed by Greek Movers. If I had to guess, they only packed 30% of what we asked them to. When I called Greek Movers to express my concern, he blamed it on me saying it was my fault for not being there to watch them pack. He offered to "help" by sending out another team to finish the job that his previous team did not and charge the same hourly rate. Good Greek is requiring us to relinquish our free speech for $216 for the furniture they destroyed in the move. I wanted to tell you my experience working with good Greek Moving and Storage when we moved from Wilton Manors to Tallahassee, FL. Billy, an estimator from your office, came out and gave us an estimate to do the packing and moving of our home in Wilton Manors. We were moving three bedrooms (one with no bed frame or dresser), a dining room set and china cabinet, some exercise equipment, as well as boxes of books. We had packed some of the boxes that were to be moved but your team were to pack the remainder of items in the house. Their team showed up and began packing. About 1 pm they said they were leaving as they had no more boxes to pack. I asked about the remaining things and they said without boxes they could not do anything. I asked how many boxers were needed and was told that fifteen large boxes and two large wardrobe boxes would probably take care of it (the large wardrobe in the media room was still full of clothes.) So, I went to Lowes and purchased the boxes they said they needed and brought them back so they could finish the packing. First of all I want to say that I had no problem with the actual movers themselves, they were just fine. My issue is with management/customer service (or lack thereof). I told two different people that this was a small job, I didn't need three hours (keep this in mind for later in my story, that everything including the contract and online says *3* hour minimum) and that I would only need two men and a small truck. I had the tiniest move to a storage unit (5 minutes away). After the first person let me know he would bump things down to a two hour minimum, he sent me a new contract. The next person I spoke to was for a confirmation, and of course she tried to pretend like I agreed to a 3 hour minimum. When the movers arrived, THEY tried to pretend that I agreed to a 3 hour minimum. When I had an issue with how much they were charging me at the end, I had to speak to customer service and HE tried to pretend I agreed to a 3 hour minimum. It's called communication, and your business is lacking in it. When I was trying to explain to customer service that his math was wack, he tried to change the story and say "Oh it's actually supposed to be a 4 hour minimum". Give me a break. They tried to charge me $600 to move 45 minutes worth of furniture 5 minutes down the road. At the end they added on a "one hour travel time fee" of $159. Funny that this random fee is the same price as the price per hour? 159*3 =477 PLUS the 15% and MINUS the 100 deposit that I already paid. Do the math, how does this equal $600? I guess you guys thought I was stupid and wouldn't do the math. You tried to take advantage of a woman that was all by herself. Stop claiming you're pro law enforcement, because you aren't. My husband is a Deputy and his patrol vehicle was parked in our driveway. You still tried to scam us. I would NEVER recommend your company. I was told they would bring the proper materials and handle that for me. When it was time to unpack, I saw they were all in one box. 10 frames were thrown in 1 box with nothing separating or protecting them. Every single frame came out damaged. I sent an email to the manager with photos asking about the charge a week ago and no response back. At the end of the day were they the worst, no but did I have a "much better experience" then using someone else, no and the fact I did not get an email back is the cause for the public review and just bad customer service so when I move again, I will not use them. We scheduled our move with Good Greek from FL to NC. The price was very good considering the amount of furniture being moved (4 bedroom house). We asked if they could pick up items we had in storage the day before they were to load up our house. After loading up from our storage units, they asked if they could start on the house, which I agreed to. Everything went smooth that day. The next day, a different crew showed up to finish the packing & loading. They were late showing up (we expected them at around 8 am, but they didn't arrive till about 10), & my wife & I had to help packing in order to try & leave at a reasonable time. We didn't leave the house till almost 7 pm (much later than we wanted). On move in day, they were again late (we expected them around 9 and they arrived around 1pm). They didn't leave till after 10 pm that night. The next day, when we started unpacking, we noticed how "well" some items were packed. I called them to give me a quote on a long distant move. I have to say I am not impressed with this company. Firstly, the people that came out were rude and when I thought their price was a little steep they didn't even want to give me a quote or spend anytime with me, even though I am serious about hiring a company but I need to do my due diligence first. When they did give me a quote, it had no information on it. There was also never a list of items on the quote. When I asked if there would be an itemized list I did not even get a response back from them. After getting multiple quotes and meeting with different movers, I would say to go with Solomon & Sons relocation or Allied Movers. I am definitely a real, very unhappy customer who cannot recommend this company to anyone. The only reason I was able to get a reimbursement from this company was because I opened a complaint through the BBB. Even then, they tried to lie and say that I had opened a dispute with my credit card company for the total amount charged. After asking them to submit final paperwork from my credit card company reflecting this supposed charge back, "Good Greek" finally sent me the paperwork for the reimbursement I was owed. I cannot believe the level of unprofessional service I received from this company. Not only did they break one of my priceless belongings without apologizing or telling me how to get reimbursed for it (something I had to call the company for more information about), they were 45 minutes late (I was the first appointment of the day), literally threw things into boxes without any care, and then the company tried to charge me tons of hidden fees. They also tried to charge me for 45 additional minutes of work AFTER they had finished the job. However, our experience with Good Greek Moving was egregious enough to break that stride. We needed to move a very small amount of furniture and boxes from NY to South Florida. While it was a small amount, there were some rather pricey pieces of art and furniture, the care of which I did not want to leave to a fly-by-night moving company. After a quick Google search, I found Good Greek. I read some online reviews. Were they great? No. But they mostly focused on communication and timing issues with the company. And honestly, are there ever really glowing reviews of moving companies? Plus, they tout themselves as the official movers of the Miami Marlins (see second sentence: don't baseball players have far more expensive items to move than we do?). After contacting the Company and experiencing both (i) great phone- and email-based customer service and (ii) ample flexibility regarding timing of possible pick-up/delivery dates, I thought that they must have read the online reviews and worked on this aspect of the business. So, I booked them. The guys showed up at the appointed time and were quite friendly and helpful. Seeing the giant, professionally painted 18-wheeler gave me further confidence that all was good with Good Greek. Off they went with our items. We were told to expect the same crew and the same truck a few days later in Florida. I mention that because the same crew/truck was promised in order to minimize the number of times that our items would be handled/moved after loading. I didn't hear from the Company for a few days, so I called to verify that they would still arrive on the date they originally provided. I was told that they were going to be a day late because of traffic issues. I didn't think much of it because the hurricane was directly over North Carolina at the time. No big deal. A day later than expected, they called to say they were ready to deliver. Super. A different, smaller truck pulls up to the house. Different guys get out...not one guy from the load-in crew. No alarms went off in my head. Just rolled with it. Then the furniture starts coming in. It was as if they had literally thrown a credenza out of the truck. The top was cracked length-wise. The corner was splintered. Ruined. The wood dining room table? It was mangled so badly that the moving blankets wrapping the corners were ripped and frayed as if the piece had been dragged along the street on its side. Ruined. Picture frame? Looked like it had been gnawed on. By a rat. Quite impressive however they made this happen. On to the art boxes...which, notably, the movers had helped us cover with shrink wrap after watching us take great pains to protect the art inside the box with bubble wrap and special art paper. While they were marked "Fragile", one of the boxes had two giant holes. Picture Mike Tyson taking a one-two jab at the box. Cardboard didn't stand a chance. How about the boxes (several plastic and cardboard) that we had sent? Even though the boxes were taped and shrink wrapped, the items inside were wet when they arrived. And broken, of course, as that was the theme of the move. Sonos speakers cracked and scuffed (how exactly do items in taped, padded, shrink-wrapped boxes end up scuffed and cracked??). Candles in glass jars, shattered. Candle holders, broken. I have moved a lot, cross-country several times, locally numerous times. I have NEVER had my articles treated with less respect than we experienced with Good Greek. It is truly shocking the state in which our items ended up. And disheartening. So, I booked them. The guys showed up at the appointed time and were quite friendly and helpful. Seeing the giant, professionally painted 18-wheeler gave me further confidence that all was good with Good Greek. Off they went with our items. We were told to expect the same crew and the same truck a few days later in Florida. I mention that because the same crew/truck was promised in order to minimize the number of times that our items would be handled/moved after loading. I didn't hear from the Company for a few days, so I called to verify that they would still arrive on the date they originally provided. I was told that they were going to be a day late because of traffic issues. I didn't think much of it because the hurricane was directly over North Carolina at the time. No big deal. A day later than expected, they called to say they were ready to deliver. Super. A different, smaller truck pulls up to the house. Different guys get out...not one guy from the load-in crew. No alarms went off in my head. Just rolled with it. Then the furniture starts coming in. It was as if they had literally thrown a credenza out of the truck. The top was cracked length-wise. The corner was splintered. Ruined. The wood dining room table? It was mangled so badly that the moving blankets wrapping the corners were ripped and frayed as if the piece had been dragged along the street on its side. Ruined. Picture frame? Looked like it had been gnawed on. By a rat. Quite impressive however they made this happen. On to the art boxes...which, notably, the movers had helped us cover with shrink wrap after watching us take great pains to protect the art inside the box with bubble wrap and special art paper. While they were marked "Fragile", one of the boxes had two giant holes. Picture Mike Tyson taking a one-two jab at the box. Cardboard didn't stand a chance. How about the boxes (several plastic and cardboard) that we had sent? Even though the boxes were taped and shrink wrapped, the items inside were wet when they arrived. And broken, of course, as that was the theme of the move. Sonos speakers cracked and scuffed (how exactly do items in taped, padded, shrink-wrapped boxes end up scuffed and cracked??). Candles in glass jars, shattered. Candle holders, broken. I have moved a lot, cross-country several times, locally numerous times. I have NEVER had my articles treated with less respect than we experienced with Good Greek. It is truly shocking the state in which our items ended up. And disheartening. How can a business provide such a terrible service and still be in business? How can they treat with such disregard items that people work hard to buy? I'm generally not one to complain...especially not in a public forum such as this. I generally just take it all in (silent) stride and go with the "lesson learned" approach. However, our experience with Good Greek Moving was egregious enough to break that stride. We needed to move a very small amount of furniture and boxes from NY to South Florida. While it was a small amount, there were some rather pricey pieces of art and furniture, the care of which I did not want to leave to a fly-by-night moving company. After a quick Google search, I found Good Greek. I read some online reviews. Were they great? No. But they mostly focused on communication and timing issues with the company. And honestly, are there ever really glowing reviews of moving companies? Plus, they tout themselves as the official movers of the Miami Marlins (see second sentence: don't baseball players have far more expensive items to move than we do?). After contacting the Company and experiencing both (i) great phone- and email-based customer service and (ii) ample flexibility regarding timing of possible pick-up/delivery dates, I thought that they must have read the online reviews and worked on this aspect of the business. I chose Good Greek to move my 5,000+ 3 story house from Knoxville to Palm Beach and I am so glad I did. From the beginning Michael followed up with me on every question I had (and I had many) almost instantly. If he didn’t have the answer he checked with his boss and got back to me quickly. The move was going to be challenging because our home in Tennessee wasn’t accessible for a semi. Good Greek decided to rent a local truck, load it at our house then transport it to a truck stop and reload it to the semi. I had three of the most wonderful men as movers: Jose, Jonathan and Manny. Out of all the movers we have had in the past I can not say enough about how amazing these guys were. They took time to be sure all the “special things” were packed correctly and communicated with me constantly. Not one time did I hear a complaint or negative comment about anything I asked them to do. Good Greek accommodated my need to pack one weekend then hold everything until the next weekend due to closing dates of houses. They scheduled the same team to unpack me which was wonderful. Jose, Manny and Jonathon Manny once again did an amazing job unpacking everything. They didn’t rush to just get done and go home. They actually cared and were concerned about my things. I even have very fine European Crystal that I have broken before just from hand washing them and NOT ONE OF THEM were broken during the move. I was amazed!!!! The only mistake I made during the move was purchasing the additional insurance, with these guys I didn’t need it!!!!! Amazing job Good Greek Movers!!! You guys have got it going on! I'm with Espresso Mail in West Palm Beach and we were needing a few store fixtures moved in order to make room for an 800 lb coffee roaster which was being delivered. We had to reschedule 3 times because of delays with the roaster arriving. Austin and Zach didn't flinch and assured me each time that they would take care of it. They did! The movers showed up on time and were very careful and diligent about moving the fixtures. But the best thing is they uncrated the roaster and moved it into the store. The sales rep was courteous, professional and responsive, and the team sent to pack did a good job. Goods arrived at both locations with items damaged and missing. I sent emails with photos, and left voice messages, but could not get a response. After I wrote that I would report them to Angie's List, I finally received a call, more than a month after first contacting them regarding the damage. I was told that they estimated the value of loss and damage at $280 and offered $100 to settle. I responded that their valuation was unrealistically low and said I would provide my own. I researched the internet to obtain the competitive cost of replacing the damaged or missing items. Two of the items were antiques for which a retail replacement was not available: a floor lamp in which a brass foot was broken off and a mirror in which part of the carved wood frame was broken off and lost. For these, I listed the actual cost I incurred to have an antiques repair company fabricate a "fix," which, in neither case, were they able to match the original design (thus permanently reducing the value of these items). I sent the documented cost/repair list back to Greek Moving, indicating a total value of $1,072.90. This included the cost for 5 items ranging from $46 to $450, and did NOT include the lost value of the two antique pieces. (I originally paid about $1,200 for these two items; now they are garage sale pieces.) Upon receiving my estimate for the value of repair/replacement, the company called to offer compensation totaling $15. When I asked about $100 I was previously offered, I was told that $15 was all that I was "legally entitled to." Later, after receiving the email with their offer, it was raised to $27. Throughout this process, the person assigned to handle my claim was patronizing and condescending. During our initial conversation, he tried to pressure me to sign the release for $100, after which I told him I only wanted to correspond in writing. He continued to call me after this with the same pressure to sign. Notwithstanding all the legal restrictions built into standard contracts for moving, my experience with previous moving companies in handling claims has been generally very fair. This was not the case with Greek Moving. (Based on many previous moves, I found moving insurance companies generally disreputable with policies containing so many restrictions that it is extremely difficult to ever collect for damages. This conclusion was confirmed by the owner of the last moving company I used.) Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed with their handling of my claim. These moves cost $17,000 (plus a last minute charge of $995 for two weeks storage when I needed to delay the move into NYC.
