This company is a broker or middleman for moving companies. Essentially, they are a sales force who will give you a low bid in order to secure the contract. They claim that their services are worthwhile as they supposedly review and investigate moving companies that they recommend. We moved across country and this company took an absurd fee of thousands of dollars. Their fee was the entire up front deposit monies. Moreover, the contract that you sign with this company is not the same as the contract with the actual moving company. The moving company will pick up your belongings in a 26' truck. You will then be required to sign a contract that you agree that the delivery location will accommodate a 53' truck. The reason being that all your furnishings will be off loaded onto the larger vehicle. We confirmed that the delivery location could handle a 53' foot truck. However, the moving company slips into the contract that you agree that the delivery location can accommodate a "Semi". In the event that the truck cannot get within a reasonable distance of the delivery location, you will be responsible for any addition unloading, reloading, and if necessary storage charges. On the date of delivery a 75' tractor trailer truck arrives and according to the driver cannot maneuver to our delivery location. The driver became very belligerent. I contacted his employer, the moving company and told them that I signed a contract for a 53' truck. I was nastily told that I agreed to a Semi truck. I angrily told the lady that I'm not paying any additional money and that I and my wife will move our belongings the further distance with the driver and his helper. We paid a lot of money and should not have had to do this. However, the driver just sat on the curb, until I told him and his company representative that we will move the stuff with them as we refused to pay for any additional charges associated with the delivery trucks inability to get to our apartment. Moreover, my wife and I spent endless hours bubble wrapping and protecting our more fragile belongings. Nevertheless, when the Semi opened its doors, we saw that our boxes and hard plastic containers were crushed. Although boxes were marked fragile, the moving company did not care. Some bubble wrapped pieces were broken. The legs of wood benches were broken and surreptitiously worked on as I cannot say repaired. Part of an antique chair was broken as well as scratches on wood furniture. I understand a quote won't be exact - however I had given them the exact packing list, weight, cubic ft it took to move previously. My quote was around $4800 and they held my belongings hostage until I paid over 10k. The last payment was required to be in cash or postal service money orders. They didn't come on the day they said they would forcing me to cancel and move my flight. It took over 20 days to receive my items and half of them were damaged. It's disheartening that this company is allowed to still be in business for 5 years. I'm writing in hopes that Eagle Moving Group doesn't take advantage of another customer. Eagle Moving Group hired a third party to move my 1 bedroom from coast to coast. When I questioned how/why my price double when the movers arrived without them measuring or putting anything on the truck. Ultimately, the movers left without completing the job. Now Eagle Moving Group has my phone number flagged and whoever answers the phone will not let me speak to anyone at the next Tier level. When I asked for a refund the rep stated that I needed to cancel the order. I'm refusing to fill out a cancellation request because Eagle and their third party cancelled on me. It's a scam. 1. The price was doubled the initial offer. The trick: Once you made the down payment and wait until the loading day, there's no way to be off the hook. My quotation was $3,000 and ended up with paying $6,989. 2. The guy from this company vanished after the deal was sold, no phone, no email. 3. The 2nd company showed up on the loading day and was extremely incapable: Loading was delayed for 6 hours, furniture were damaged. At the destination, one of the two unloading guys disappeared after showing up for 5 minutes, and I myself became a non-salary labor working together with the only guy left (whom I still tipped well: I don't blame on him). 4. Forget about insurance and compensation: 8 month after the moving with one totally destroyed desk, two cracked book shelves, and one broken bed head, they offered to pay me $80 and I have never received. This is a CORRUPT brokerage company that SELL your contract to 3rd party bidder who is then free to charge you whatever they want- no matter what your bid is, and this is documented- by contract of what you signed you have to pay it or forfeit deposit. This was the worst commercial transaction that I have ever entered into during my life. I recommend any other service, just not this one. I received an unsolicited call from a salesman at Eagle Moving Group in very late December. I needed a quick move. The salesman literally talked me out of using a UHaul---despite my concerns with the pandemic and a labor shortage. I was assured my delivery date would be met. This was peak omicron, and I now firmly believe he knew they would not be able to deliver two weeks later and simply wanted me to sign on the line so Eagle could keep my money and later point to its extremely broad contract language---which gives them like thirty days PAST your selected date of delivery to move your things. Eagle contracted another company, Jackson. The movers arrived and broke a bannister in my home. Almost four weeks later, Jackson contracted to another moving service who hired someone else who showed up at my door. The driver had no workers and insisted I move my own items. He also tried to charge me additional money for him (and I) to carry up my mattresses to the second floor of my home. I carried almost every item into my own home: mattresses, boxes, etc. Eagle customer service largely ignored my core concern--- again, that I believe that I was deliberately lied to during the sales call. Instead, they just blame the pandemic for my broken bannister and the fact that the move that arrived almost four weeks after the salesman told me I would receive it. The subcontracting and further subcontracting also lets each entity blame the other. The guy who delivered my items even said, the sales people will say whatever to get your money. Ultimately, I paid 3k to move a small amount of things across the country. Items were broken. The salesman did not keep his word; nor did he respond to calls or emails despite his promise of availability during the call. I also had to physically move my own items in after attempts to be charged additional money for the carrying of a mattress up stairs in a home. The experience was so bad its almost comical. I write this review to make the larger point that, as a professional, the disruption to my working life was simply inexcusable. I had to buy new suits, shoes, and other personal items. Had the salesman been straight up from the beginning, I would have simply paid for the UHaul or found another service. There are other decent reviews** on here so maybe (hopefully) my experience was an outlier. ** Upon closer review, I cannot help but question the validity of several of the "Five Star" reviews below. First, several appear to use the SAME pictures and claim to be different people. Second, the content of some of those reviews don't seem particularly credible, likely written by a sales person with phrases like "could be trusted," I also somewhat question whether a customer would actually take a picture of the inside of a moving truck. This is absolutely the WORST moving company - AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I am writing this review so no one has to go through the same nightmare I did. I moved form Connecticut to Florida. Eagle Moving contracted JJR Services LLC as the carrier for the move. I was up-charged when the movers arrived to have them wrap every item that contained glass in case there were any damages, these would be covered. I had to leave some furniture behind because Eagle significantly under-quoted my estimate and their was no space to add the furniture on the truck. They picked up the items on 6/30/21 and the delivery was supposed to be on 7/13/21. However it arrived on 7/23/21. Upon arrival, we realized our 65 inch TV was not delivered. Per JJR the TV was left in New Jersey, and I was promised it would be delivered the following week. This delivery was pushed back week after week until it was FINALLY delivered on 9/17/21- two and a half months after the pick-up. They may have as well kept the TV, because it was completely shattered and broken upon delivery (see pictures). Joy, who is the owner of JJR, promised she would buy us a new TV or send us $650 for it. Then once again, week after week, we follow up with her - we received no payment or TV. Then she said she would give us $400 instead of the $650 promised but she could not pay it for another month because of "COVID". I requested for her to file a claim under her insurance to pay for the damaged TV, for which she replied, "I really don't want to put it through my insurance its unbelievable what I pay now - $3200 a month and I'm a small business". Additionally, according to JJR, the contract that I never signed or saw indicated I would only be reimbursed 60 cents per pound for damaged items. This is extremely wrong given (1) I was charged $25 per item that contained any type of glass in case there were any damages - per the movers I would not be reimbursed if those fees were not paid and I ended up being up charged $125 for this insurance (2) I never signed such agreement. I have contacted Eagle Moving regarding the issue and they indicate since our movers are JJR and not Eagle Moving, basically they have nothing to do with this issue since they are not the movers. I am still waiting on Joy to file the claim, apparently she has a whole 180 days to file. In my case, going with a cheaper company ended up costing us more in the long run. Eagle Moving Group is incompetent and uses deceitful pricing tactics. The initial bid to move my home was for $9,484.87, revised to $11951.48 during a QA call and final cost went up to $16,183.68. This enormous jump in price doesn’t include the $8,230 worth of items that we had to dump at the last minute. We were stuck with an entire garage full of stuff that didn’t make it on the truck; Eagle failed to provide one large enough. All of these discarded items were included in my moving quote. I am moving from Southern California to Seattle, so I booked a babysitter, a dogsitter, and two airplane tickets. (No guarantees) Yesterday, this process of shipping your move was explained to me: your things are driven to a warehouse in Nevada and left there until they accumulate enough shipments to drive out to your direction. So my cremation ashes, art, clothes, everything I wanted to be protected and handled professionally is likely buried in a warehouse with no ETA on it's arrival. Pros: The price, if honored, is competitive. I will update the review as there are some recent reviews making me nervous. Cons: Upon booking Eagle, I wanted to verify this company would handle my move. They said it was. It was farmed out to Streamline who has significantly worse reviews but have been slightly more communicative. They also accepted my tip and lied to me about a tracking app in the same breath. Hysterical. Thanks. I fly back to California tomorrow to clean out my house and pack my kids and dogs in a car for a long drive up. There is zero call backs on where my things are. No one answers the phone. I got someone yesterday who explained the process and said he would call me back. Surprise! He hasn't. I am a single mom and this trip wasn't totally fruitless as I have used FB marketplace to pretty much furnish the place. However, the mother character in Inside Out makes total sense now. Lied about estimate. Underestimated my move to obtain business. Upon pick up, because of the underestimate, I was quoted an additional 8K to move all of the items that had been estimated during my quote. Per the carrier (a sub-contractor), it was stated that it my quote had been underestimated and that he didn't know how they came up with 646 cubic square feet based on the items I had. He stated that my move would need an entire truck which was 3 times the amount that was estimated by the company. I have reached out to the company of several occasions to discuss this. I have been receiving the run around additionally I have not received or heard anything about the items that were picked up (25%). I now have to find another means to have my items shipped because I would not entrust this company to move me across the street!!! Beware and do not use their services!! P. S. I've paid 3200 for 6 out of 60 estimated items to be "moved". ***Update...the items arrived broken and missing. Still waiting to receive the paperwork from the "insurance" company to file a claim. Not worth the headache as the claim entitles you to 0.60 on the pound!! A complete joke!! Please do not believe the positive reviews. They are lies.
