First and foremost, Dixie Movers is the BEST moving company! I know it may be hard to say as this was my first big move and have never used a moving company before. I have heard many horrifying moving stories from friends, family, co-workers and reading reviews about other moving companies. When I closed on my home, I did not know where to begin with moving companies. I did not know who to call or what to do. I had no clue about pricing; what was reasonable or what wasn't reasonable. I started googling companies and came across "Dixie Movers". I saw all of the reviews and I was amazed how many people had great experiences. Many of my friends and family said, how do you know if they paid for those reviews? I still called and requested a quote. A FaceTime was scheduled with Denis who is a co-owner or manager, and I showed him everything in my 1-bedroom apartment that was going and wasn't going into my new 3 bedroom 2-story house almost 2 hours north from my apartment. I then received two BINDING quotes. One quote was for a full pack option move (they pack all of my items) and the second one was for a regular move (I box up smaller items and my personal belongings prior to their arrival). Both quotes included, disassembling and reassembling (I chose the second quote). Because of the reviews, I did not want to call other companies, but everyone kept telling me to just call. So, I called other companies, and they came in lower, but they told me the quotes were NOT BINDING; meaning that the price could change when they came to my apartment the day of the move. I then started reading other reviews on other companies, how they held their stuff hostage because the price changed from much lower to much higher. I made my decision and went with Dixie and boy oh boy I am so extremely happy that I made that decision. The day of the move was extremely stressful for me because leaving my apartment that I was living in for 10 years was very emotional and I felt overwhelmed. They were scheduled to arrive at 10AM and they arrived 15 minutes early. The lead person Rohit came in to look at the place. He started bringing in material and introduced me to his crew, Kirll, Alex and Nick. I walked off to the corner and I started to cry just being overwhelmed, and he said, "Ma'am, why are you crying are you ok? We are here to help. Don't worry, we will take care of everything for you." At that point, I felt much better. He started assisting with things that were not boxed up as yet with his team. They were so helpful. They took care of my stuff with so much care and delicacy. I was so shocked. They wrapped everything so well, I was in awe. There wasn't one ounce of dirt or marks on any of my items! When we arrived at the house, they placed everything where it needed to be, assembled everything (beds, TV stands, TV's, chairs, dining room tables, etc.) They even turned on the TV and the lamps to make sure it works. Listen, if you are looking for an honest, reliable, and caring company who truly cares about you and your personal belongings... DIXIE MOVERS is the moving company to go with!! Their price came in a little higher than some other companies, but they provided me with a BINDING quote. No surprises after the move. It was WELL WORTH IT! I can honestly say, this was one of the best decisions I made. Also, I can 100% honestly say the reviews are indeed TRUE! I am living proof that this company and the reviews are the real deal. My experience with Dixie Movers was great! It had been quite awhile since I last moved, and I was dreading the entire move experience. However, from the initial call with the office - having found them here on Yelp - to the arrival of three guys in protective masks and the diligent way they worked and communicated, they put me at ease. I had a few challenging items to move (a 4-piece home office desk for one), but these guys got right in there and got it to my new home along with all of my other household items safely and on time. BEWARE. I don't know where all these good reviews come from. These guys are terrible scammers. I scheduled a move with them, 1 bedroom, 2 guys on 09/12/2020 from the ABF storage and they said they went to the location and there was no one at the storage and asked me if they could leave because of this, I called the storage and they didn't pick up the phone at the moment so I sent them back. They arrived before me, so it didn't made sense that I went. I called the storage again after and they mentioned that the movers didn't go at all or they would have seen them. I can confirm this because the Dixie guys sent a picture of the place they went to and it wasn't ABF or anywhere nearby. They wanted to charge 2 hours for this at $145, even though their transport fee is $90, when in the end, they were never there. I re-scheduled the move 5 days later bc of the new building restrictions not thinking I was being scammed by them, and had to stay in a hotel in the meantime. On the day, they cancelled the move because I hadn't paid for the first cancellation that I thought was gonna be charged altogether. Their email went to my spam folder and I had to send a credit card authorization in a hurry. They said they would be at the storage at 3, then 3:30 (when they drove in front of the place while I was standing outside but didn't stop) and didn't come back until 4pm. WHY? They said they were gonna send 2 guys and 3 came, so they could be faster? I had to help them with the move because we didn't have time to get to the building otherwise. When we got to my place, a new 4th guy was here and I didn't know why or where he came from. I asked them to assemble some furniture and the bed, but they couldn't find the screws for the bed so they didn't assemble it. They dragged my mattress to the apartment and it got super dirty. For this mess, they charged me 3,5 hours plus another transport fee that was supposed to be $90 but they said it was 145 plus the cancellation, $145 of the first attempt that remember, they didn't even go to. $761 for a 1 bedroom. They wanted to charge me for the 4th guy ghost also plus tip and started to rant because they get paid $14/hour. So I gave them $40. TOTAL: $801. Remember the bed screws, they magically appeared in the screw bag after they left, they just hid them because they didn't want to assemble it and I ended up without a bed for days. We had the BEST experience with Dixie Movers! They were extremely prompt meeting us the day of our move. They confirmed ahead of time that they would be meeting us for our move. It was three men that helped us pack up a storage unit and two bedrooms of belongings to bring to our new home. They disassembled and reassembled our master bedroom set. They had to carry a lot of our furniture up stairs into our two story new home and they did it flawlessly. I would 100% recommend Dixie Movers and will definitely use them again if/when we move. Upon moving things from the master, they accidentally snagged the floor, but the company paid for the repair promptly when I reported it. (Practically unheard of to get quality service like that.) When they were unloading in our new home, Mike brought in my plant. We were astonished. My plant made it hundreds of miles! I didn't see any smokers or smoke breaks and they moved our things in from like 10am to 7pm. We couldn't believe it! By the way, our community was on a hill with our home driveway on a hill. Upon moving things from the master, they accidentally snagged the floor, but the company paid for the repair promptly when I reported it. (Practically unheard of to get quality service like that.) They packed everything with care and made sure that nothing was left behind. They were quick but precise. I asked them to hold the move for a few days while we drove to DC...no problem. When they showed up in DC, they were experts at their trade. DC is definitely a bigger city than Fort Lauderdale and they handled the traffic and high rise move-in perfectly.
