Do NOT utilize this business! March 2023 - Secured company for storage and relocation to another state. My items were packed by me. I took pictures of every box packed and stored with the facility for accurate accounting of items. My items were delivered on May 14,2023. This was my first time utilizing a moving company. Shane was amazing with taking the time to explain everything and answer all questions I had. May 14, 2023 My items arrived. I counted the boxes and realized two were missing. They contained household items knife ware, glassware set, draw organizer for utensils, and a variety of other kitchen and household items. They were medium-large boxes. Same day I notified Shane the POC I was working with. He provided education and next steps first I was told it could be handled in house then I was told that I would have to complete a claim then call them back after so there could be something as compensation. I began unboxing everything a few days after. Took note of various damaged items. 1. A large clear container with lid that was wrapped with moving plastic containing about 25 pairs of shoes. All the shoes sustained damage. About 10 had the worst damage. Mildew, dirt, and completely destroyed. View pictures for reference. My assumption poor climate control and someone mishandled my items. I only submitted the 10 with worse damage as I was able to salvage the rest. 2. 60 inch TV still in til he original box. Water damage and would not turn on. 3. Blender system with water damage and would not turn on. I called again and was furious. Explained what I found. And after looking up claims and reports about DirectRelocation I knew I would not be offered much and asked how much I was considering. At this point I did quick calculation the TV to replace would be close to $2000 and the shoes and lost boxes I wounded another $1000. Knowing I probably wouldn't get even close to that I was comfortable suggestion $1500. July 2023 Per instructions provided. I completed the claim then called Direct Relocation to follow up about what was discussed, an in house review of my claim and additional compensation. I was to be contacted by Taylor for assistance and to begin the process. August 23, 3023 I called as no one had called me to date. I was transferred multiple time to finally reach a person that later claimed to be the "manager". I stated my reason for calling. I was told the reason no one has reached out to me is because the "claim was complete. Nothing else will be done". I'm confused and ask for clarification as that's not the instructions provided by Shane, Maria and a manager( name I was not provided) when I was initially told to complete the claim. Up to this point I have attempted to remain calm each time I have reached out to this company. I was told during this conversation with the "manager" the reason my items were damaged was because I packed liquids in with my items. First, pointing out the obvious it states not to do so. Two, how does a bin with no damages wrapped in shipping wrapping experience water damage and mold if it sealed. Three, how does a TV in original boxing experience water damage. It would take a lot of water to accomplish that. (Please view pictures of container and items). The manager was not empathetic, professional, and apparently no integrity. This is not an honest company and if you utilize their devices expect the worst. I have received poor customer service for the exception of Shane. There is a lack of communication with customers and between the individuals from department to department. The claim only offered $69 for covered loss of boxes and damaged items. Typical South Florida scam company. My fiancé and I hired them to move our stuff from Florida to Colorado. They lied about the pickup date, lied and said they would get our stuff there in like two weeks. Two weeks turned into almost 2 months. Two months of living in an empty apartment. When my fiancé found out from another upset customer that this company was evicted from their warehouse, and were holding people's stuff in temporary storage (without their knowledge), he left a review stating that. Next came the threatening call from Justin Perez the owner, making vague threats to try to coerce my fiancé to take the review down. We are missing a chair and several boxes of stuff as well, I'm sure we'll get barely any compensation for that. They report reviews that tell the truth about their scam business to Google and Yelp to get them taken down, yet Yelp obviously knows they are paying someone for fake good reviews, hence the "suspicious activity" notification. These people should get real jobs like everyone else, rather than getting rich by ripping off people in their own community. You've been warned, don't use them. The two main reasons I decided to book Direct Relocate 1. They assured me they were not a broker 2. There would be VIDEO taken during my items being moved! This did NOT happen. What actually took place : 1. They called to say they were arriving. Then I was waiting for them to contact me as they started filming my move. (I was out-of-state and not able to be there in person.) The next time they contacted me was when they sent me a photo of the empty storage unit after they were gone! I was LIVID because I assured by the sales person Michael that there would be a VIDEO of the move, which NEVER happened! It was a key feature he used to get me to have confidence to book with them. 2. My inventory was never properly or accurately logged. They did not write anything on the inventory list instead they sent a paper with a line drawn down for the inventory.( Throw and go) 3. There were several customers shipments are all packed on the same tractor trailer with no clear or secure separation of belongings. This seems to be why and how furniture gets mixed up and ends up at the WRONG DESTINATION . 4. Only after this horrific experience did I a friend find their Google reviews..completely DIFFERENT from the reviews on their website! Other customers also complaining about missing furniture and receiving furniture that didn’t belong to them. 5. I’m still missing my kitchen bar stool, I found only 1 of 2. 6. The delivery driver had the NERVE to harass me for a tip after seeing how extremely upset I was over having my furniture arrived damaged, destroyed and some missing. Unacceptable! Buyer BEWARE P.S. I WARN YOU DO NOT !!!!!!!!! I MEAN DO NOT !!!!!!!! EVER TRUST THIS COMPANY TO MOVE YOUR ITEMS !! THEY WILL BE GOING OUT OF BUSINESS SOONER THAN YOU THINK ONCE THIS CASE IN COURT IS FINISHED AND COMPLETE!!! This fucking moving company moved my furniture this July I was doing an out of state move from Miami To HTX. I was very hesitant about this company and was going to go to a trusted broker company that isn't a third party van line company (That has multiple people move your items ) like this one. But It was last minute and this company was the only moving company available for a last minute move. I spoke with SHANE FRANCIS and he recommended me about their 30 day free storage in coral springs to hold my items until my move in date and when i was ready to move in they would ship it out and my items would arrive in 5-7 business days. With this i didn't have to pay the full amount upfront only half of my moving cost and only the monthly storage fee after the free trial. So i did it. "Their Company" Moves your items during pickup they came, ended up leaving the wall mounts inside my house after the man said he would come back and get it just left and didn't answer my calls that was the FIRST RED FLAG . So i just forgot about it . Before he left a man had me sign multiple things (make sure you read everything in FINE PRINT) (They ended up having me sign where you get paid 0.6 cents per lb instead of the full coverage of your items !!!!) Because they know your items will be ruined so they won't have to come out of pocket. So when i needed my furniture shipped out to HTX i spoke with a supervisor named MARIA she told me it will be within 5-7 days i would receive my items it ended up being 2 FULL WEEKS 14 or 15 DAYS .She stated " We needed to find a driver " Before i left my furniture with this company everything was IN PERFECT CONDITION , BRAND NEW FURNITURE WORTH THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. When they finally arrived i thought you know, everything would be EXACTLY how it left my house..... A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE !!!!!!!!!! When i received my items every SINGLE LAST THING WAS DAMAGED EVERY SINGLE THING. Damages , Scratches , Stains , MISSING ITEMS !!!! They lost one of my 65 INCH TVS !!! BRAND NEW My other 75" TV CAME UP BROKE (Shattered ) My White couches had RED STAINS , BLUE DOTS ON IT , BENT & out of shape !!!!!!!!!! My white coffee table had a big chip on the edge and ANOTHER small one, my bed was missing latches couldn't even put it together fully i literally just bought everything before they moved it !!!!!! I was COMPLETELY torn because i trusted this company to move my items and i worked hard to purchase my furniture and it was all just a slap in the face !!!! The worst moving NIGHTMARE experience to ever have with this fugazi ass moving company . The 2 men that delivered my items to me where COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL (beginners) NO MOVING EXPERIENCE WHATSOEVER. They where literally asking ME how to put stuff together . This company will let anybody with your items since they are not a certified broker company they will choose any body to move your stuff as long as they are AVAILABLE. They do not care. The men that delivered my items where telling me "this is how the items where brought to him" SO SOMEONE BETWEEN THE TWO COMPANIES FUCKED OFF MY FURNITURE !! If my items where wrapped and in the warehouse HOW THE HELL DOES ANYTHING GET RUINED AND WITH STAINS ON IT ???????!!! If everything is wrapped ??!! I spoke with SHANE FRANCIS and he recommended me about their 30 day free storage in coral springs to hold my items until my move in date and when i was ready to move in they would ship it out and my items would arrive in 5-7 business days. With this i didn't have to pay the full amount upfront only half of my moving cost and only the monthly storage fee after the free trial. So i did it. "Their Company" Moves your items during pickup they came, ended up leaving the wall mounts inside my house after the man said he would come back and get it just left and didn't answer my calls that was the FIRST RED FLAG . So i just forgot about it . Before he left a man had me sign multiple things (make sure you read everything in FINE PRINT) (They ended up having me sign where you get paid 0.6 cents per lb instead of the full coverage of your items !!!!) Because they know your items will be ruined so they won't have to come out of pocket. So when i needed my furniture shipped out to HTX i spoke with a supervisor named MARIA she told me it will be within 5-7 days i would receive my items it ended up being 2 FULL WEEKS 14 or 15 DAYS .She stated " We needed to find a driver " Before i left my furniture with this company everything was IN PERFECT CONDITION , BRAND NEW FURNITURE WORTH THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. When they finally arrived i thought you know, everything would be EXACTLY how it left my house..... A COMPLETE NIGHTMARE !!!!!!!!!! Just a brief summary before launching into the superlatives. We required packing of all of our clothing, kitchen items, garden furniture, plants, electronics, furniture: everything. After their representative (Andrew) came to evaluate our needs we quickly received a very fair and all inclusive quote with a fixed date. NO HIDDEN COSTS!! And we off to the races... Here is a partial hit-parade superlatives to describe this outstanding company. Drum roll: accommodating,flexible,dependable,efficient,no-nonsense,extremely hard-working (the entire process lasted more than 12 hours and none of the 5 band members took more than a quick lunch break!) Their names are: Jeff, Dave, Zack, Diego and Rainiel. Truly the fab 5! But I digress: Highly Covid appropriate and safe, great camaraderie and senses of humor, polite and respectful, honest, diligent, delicate and careful with fragile items and carried down 3 flights of stairs all heavy boxes, gym equipment and furniture with ease and not an off-key beat to the truck. There is so much more but I’ll with this refrain. Moving is a highly stressful and angst-filled situation. Direct Relocation Services turned the entire experience into a multi-platinum event. Every item and box was carefully unloaded into our new home and not a dish was broken and no knick-knack was lost. NIGHTMARE -DO NOT USE THEM DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY – I should have read reviews prior to using them. (Refer to Michelle T’s review. It is the exact same experience we had). The broker quoted us a price that was reasonable up front only to be told by Direct relocation that we had more cubic footage than what was quoted by the broker. When they loaded our belonging they had 2 smaller trucks and loaded 1 half full and the other was fully loaded. They told me I was to pay for the total cubic footage of both trucks which well exceeded the total cubic footage we had. Some of the items they took apart they refused to put back together. They left all of the wrapping and the cardboard that covered the furniture out on the front lawn. No cleanup at all. I did receive a portion of the cubic footage discrepancy but not all that I should have received. I discussed the issue with the manager only to be told I had no idea what it takes to move a home. DO NOT USE THIS MOVER UNLESS YOU TOTALLY HATE EVERYTHING VALUABLE THAT YOU OWN!!! In June, we engaged Direct Relocation Services to move our valuable household goods from California to Florida. The following reasonably describes that very bad experience: Upon arrival, we opened the boxes as fast as we could. Serious problems were immediately apparent. In fact, initially estimated that nearly $20K in china, works of art, valuable household goods and memorabilia were either completely destroyed through careless packing and transport or were simply stolen. In fact, we specifically identified a $6,000 cut glass sculpture to those doing the packing. We saw them wrap it in multiple blankets and pack it in a large wardrobe box. It NEVER ARRIVED! Nor, did at least 10 boxes of other valuables that were not random. They coincidently contained elegant gowns, small appliances and irreplaceable memorabilia. Now that we have unpacked tree Christmas decorations, even more high-quality stuff is missing. When goods arrive at your destination, they quickly offload it without verifying each box number. In addition, the driver must be paid in cash or by postal money order upon arrival. So, there is no way to hold payment until a dispute is settled. Let’s be real, if these got mixed up with a shipment to a different customer, wouldn’t any decent person report the error? Furthermore, given that each box was numbered and inventoried, how did the big Russian guy, who couldn’t leave with our cash payment fast enough, check everything off as delivered? Our two brand new $3,500 each electric bikes arrived in a condition that took us an hour each to return to usability. They were obviously ridden by someone who knew nothing about the gears and wrapped the chain tightly around the axle. These guys are animals. In fact, it seems like they target certain stuff that either gets broken or disappears out of jealousy. Lastly, they were intentionally careless. We pre-packed over 50 boxes of our belongings in heavy duty clear plastic containers. The most breakable (computers, china, etc.) had bright yellow 8.5 x 11 labels with red text that said “Fragile. Do not stack boxes on top”. All arrived at the bottom of the stacks with as many as nine levels of boxes on top. The resulting damage was heartbreaking. Furthermore, we have only gotten lip services about these issues from Direct Relocation Services since. I could go on, but, it makes us sick to think about and the point should clearly justify the warning in the title of this posting. We believe that this is a case of grand theft on an epic scale. Review from BBB - 58 complaints filed: My experience is with an interstate CA - NY move but I'm sure the experience is going to be the same if you move anywhere other than down the street in Fort Lauderdale. Here is what will happen - you'll give them a call, you'll receive a nice sales lady on the line who will tell you everything you want to hear. Door to door service, no need to move a finger, no hidden fees AND it'll be thousands of dollars under every other quote you've received! You just tell them the items you have, they "estimate" the cubic feet, then give you a price. Sign right on the dotted line, give them a deposit, and set a move date! I give them an A+ on their sales team for being so convincing when they are selling you a false reality. It was a steep down hill from there. Reading other reviews it's always the same - South Florida mover scams were even detailed in this news article and every single thing in this article seemed to happen to me: We set a time window for them to arrive at my apartment, between 3pm-5pm. I had to pay money to the city to block off that portion of the street for the movers van which went until 5pm. I received no call until 8:20pm that night letting me know they'd be there in an HOUR. As everyone notes, some third party moving company arrives in an unmarked truck, they don't work for the company - Direct Relocation just sells out their move jobs to random people off craigslists it seems like. And those guys immediately start giving you a hard time and upcharging you. My initial quote of ~3k doubled to ~6k because they "needed way more space for all my stuff". Take a look at the photo of how they packed my items, so obviously a scam. Over the phone - verified that stairs inside your apartment are free yet they charged me $525 for stairs when even IF I was to be charged for stairs, based on their contract it should have only been $310. They were still able to park right out front and charged $225 for "Long Carry", $75 for each 50 feet they need to "walk". (photo attached of their parking spot a few steps away). Complete Nightmare but my stuff gets picked up. "To be safe we give an estimate of 2-3 weeks for your items to arrive". Yet my items took a full month to come, barely got any updates, no one there knows where any of the items are and then they make something up for why the items are late. Items arrive, another $400 charge for "shuttle service" to move the items from large truck to small truck, never heard this in my initial quote or at any time during the moving process until the day before my movers are to arrive and for you to get your item you need to pay your remaining balance in CASH. Two more guys show up in an unmarked van, they don't work for the company. Their mantra is they'll just show up and reassemble everything as it was, instead they come in push the boxes in the corner, then leave. Not to mention they completely destroyed my $600 bed frame but I'll get to that. My GoPro is also now conveniently missing. As I slowly get to opening my boxes, you begin to realize that everything is just thrown into boxes nonchalantly . I paid extra to move multiple paintings and they were just stuffed into boxes, scuffing all the frames. As mentioned before, there were boxes that only held 1 or 2 items, mostly so they can increase the prices and make it seem like they packed more items. I then call to file a claim for my broken head board and missing GoPro, few days go by with no response. Call again and they say I need to e-mail them photos and they will file a claim. 2 weeks go by, 10 business days, and I call again and send 2 emails. Finally I receive multiple e-mails from multiple people (with differing information to why it took so long of course) letting me know that I need to submit claim paperwork with "Moving Claim Services" who is a "third party claims service company".
