If I can give zero stars or negative I would. We moved from San Antonio to Chicago. We had 3 movers from Dallas come and grab our stuff. That went smooth. What happened between then and when we got the delivery is unexplained. Condor hired some low budget movers in Illinois I’m guessing who one the main guy never even left the truck. We had two drivers change. And then the guys brother who is a scrawny 18 year old could barely lift a queen mattress. I helped that and helped him assemble my king bed that he was doing wrong. He basically was by hisself. After they started unwrapping we noticed major damage. We told them right away. And they broke a door hung as well. We contacted condor and do the claim process and all the pics etc. can you believe the insult of a reimbursement?? $288. Seriously??? My bed set alone cost more than the delivery itself. NEVER ever would have gone with this company had I known about the headache it has caused. It has been problem after problem. Our price more than doubled moving day, after I was told about a stair fee and they refused to do anything about it even though they had failed to mention it from the start. The delivery driver was beyond useless. He barely lifted a finger. My husband and I did a majority of the morning along with a neighbor. I will also be reassembling my furniture because the delivery team made a beyond pathetic attempt. They told me that screws were lost and they were unable to put our bed together. They told me they wouldn’t touch the other bed because it was electrical. After it had been taken apart by the same company…. My customer service rep has also been useless. I swear she purposely avoids my calls which just infuriates me more. I hired movers for a reason, not to do this myself. Awful and unprofessional! Mover came and before he touched anything stated it was going to be DOUBLE what I was quoted. I asked him how if the items I brought were in a uhaul smaller than 500sq ft, packed myself, and still had room left and I downsized more than that!! He said 500 sq ft in his truck was different than 500 sq ft in a different truck? The office completely tells a different story, than the movers due to lack of communication between employees. The living room tv was supposed to be packed by them. My parents had to pack the huge tv themselves. We were promised they would pack the rest of the master closet and leftover kitchen items. We had to do that our selfs. Mario and his crew did not take apart a futon bunk bed. His reasoning was that they wouldn’t know how to put it back once they moved the furniture. Yet, they put together all other beds perfectly fine. They then proceeded to mark each piece separately making a bunk bed 8 pieces. They didn’t even pick up all her furniture, they were suppose to come back one day, but their truck, “broke down”. The following day, they told my nana the movers would arrive to load the rest of the furniture at 9:00-9:30am. They didn’t show up because there was a different job in Austin the movers went to first. When we finally contacted Mario after the 5th phone call we got an estimated time of 5 hours till they would arrive. We ended up moving what was left ourselves. My nana was not out of the house by closing due to incompetence. The fridge handles never got put back on the refrigerator. They also took a chunk out of the wall when moving the couch. They packed boxes all the way to the ceiling in the garage. Crushing some boxes under the weight. Glass and random pieces of furniture were packed separately, Mario did not tell us where they were. My nana is 73 years old she can’t reach nor lift boxes to put them where they need to go. They gave us the run around and didn’t do what $10,000 dollars should provide from a moving company. Do not use Condor or Providence van lines. I don't even know where to start. We hired Providence Van lines who just hired Condor as a sub contractor. Quoted us for 12,800 and we ended up paying 19,311.94 for a move from Texas to Washington. Complete run and dump. They then charged us a $750 fee that was only payable by cashiers check before they would unload due to needing another box van to unload the big truck to then deliver. This has been a nightmare dealing with Condor. The loaders were amazing and friendly with the exception of the lead on the day of pickup. The lead acted like we were disturbing his day because he wanted to watch the football game instead of be there loading our items. He even mentioned to us several times that he was upset that our house pickup was on his lost to do that Sunday. He tossed our items around like none of them said fragile. The other two guys worked their butts off! Day of pickup went somewhat good. The schedule to drop off at our new house was stated to the lady when we made the initial appointment for the whole deal, but she failed to get it on the schedule. Drop off day came and went without anyone calling or contacting us. We had to call and see where our items were. We were told that we weren't even on the board for delivery. The scheduler was supposed to call us the following day to get us on the board. She failed to call. We had to call yet again to see where our items were. Finally we talked to some man about our items and let me tell you he was nothing but rude. We were put on the board for delivery two days after when we originally were supposed to be. The guys got here eight hours earlier than they told us. Not complaining, but we were about to leave to pick up our storage items. Thank goodness we didn't leave yet. The three guys unloading were extremely nice and hard working. One was one of the original who loaded us. As they started unloading, we noticed some items damaged. Understandable that some could get damaged, but they kept unloading with more and more damaged items. A wheel broke on the heavy smoker, the top of the kegerator busted, heavy duty shelving unit bent all to hell with pieces and a shelf missing, my glass cookware all broke, plastic totes broken, antique chest busted, wood chest chipped, futon busted and doesn't work anymore, speaker busted. He even mentioned to us several times that he was upset that our house pickup was on his lost to do that Sunday. He tossed our items around like none of them said fragile. The other two guys worked their butts off! Day of pickup went somewhat good. The schedule to drop off at our new house was stated to the lady when we made the initial appointment for the whole deal, but she failed to get it on the schedule. Drop off day came and went without anyone calling or contacting us. We had to call and see where our items were. We were told that we weren't even on the board for delivery. The scheduler was supposed to call us the following day to get us on the board. She failed to call. We had to call yet again to see where our items were. Finally we talked to some man about our items and let me tell you he was nothing but rude. We were put on the board for delivery two days after when we originally were supposed to be. The guys got here eight hours earlier than they told us. Not complaining, but we were about to leave to pick up our storage items. Thank goodness we didn't leave yet. The three guys unloading were extremely nice and hard working. One was one of the original who loaded us. As they started unloading, we noticed some items damaged. Understandable that some could get damaged, but they kept unloading with more and more damaged items. A wheel broke on the heavy smoker, the top of the kegerator busted, heavy duty shelving unit bent all to hell with pieces and a shelf missing, my glass cookware all broke, plastic totes broken, antique chest busted, wood chest chipped, futon busted and doesn't work anymore, speaker busted. We had a great experience with Condor Moving Services. Nisrine estimated our move within our budget, and it actually came in under what she actually estimated. That helped as we were able to - in our eyes - save a little money based on what we had budgeted for the project. When it was time to close up our bill at the end, it was a nice surprise! The crew was led by Mario and he was very fast, very efficient, and knew exactly what to do with some of our high priority, fragile, and large items. You never want your crew to move slow and run out the clock, but you also don't want them to move too fast and break things. Mario and his crew did just the middle; they were like Chick-Fil-A in their efficiency and care with our items. The folks Mario brought with him were very polite and well behaved in our home and with our things. They were even a joy to talk to throughout the day as I was with him, and they were great with our dog who wanted to play with them the entire time. THE INITIAL TRUCK LOADING The pickup crew for this 1200 mile interstate move was good except for some minor damage to the home during the truck loading. Condor refused to pay the very reasonable $50 repair because the damage was found by the realtor a few days after the move. It all went downhill once our possessions were loaded! - The price on my Bill of Lading was over 40% MORE THAN THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATE. - The Bill of Lading and subsequent billed amount were different, they grudgingly removed the extra charge. - Every credit card payment contained a 2.5% “convenience fee.” - If you pay the last installment upon delivery, they only accept CASH or POSTAL money order. THE WAIT - When my shipment was reloaded from their warehouse, I was called and told, “4-6 days for delivery...the driver would call 24 hrs prior.” - After 5 days, I called their 800 number for delivery status twice. Both times my phone number was taken saying, “someone will get back to you” - no one did. - On my third call (day seven) I was told it would be ANOTHER 4-6 DAYS. Maj (sales/customer service manager) told me that there had been a “problem” (undisclosed) over the weekend and there was a delay. I indicated this was outside of the Bill of Lading delivery window. They needed constant supervision! - At the end of the delivery (9:20 pm) the apartment was trashed, and most of our belonging and walls sustained some type of damage. Condor Moving Systems estimate claimed that any furniture that was taken apart would be put back together, NOTHING WAS PUT BACK TOGETHER. The driver insisted on completing final paperwork outside at the truck in the dark and would not do a final walk thru/accounting, he said it was too late. I would never use this company again, nor would I recommend them. The continuous price gouging was stomach churning enough, but the final insult was the complete lack of professionalism by the delivery crew. Me dieron un presupuesto inicial de 1200 $ luego un par de semanas después cuando llamo para confirmar la fecha de mudanza y dar el primer pago inicial el presupuesto me subió a 1490 $ pregunto por que y me dicen que el vidrio de la mesa del comedor hace que suba esa cantidad y anteriormente no lo habían puesto. Pero como me urgia mudarme decidí aceptar tristemente y tomar el servicio. Cuando llega la fecha de recogida de las cosas no podían por tema de espacio y llamaron para ir al siguiente día, como se entiende me tuve que atrasar un día más. Llego el día y se llevaron las cosas todo el personal muy amable eso si, me envolvieron el Boxesprin y me cobraron 30 $ adicionales el cual acepte. En ese momento debo pagar el 50% del valor pero no me lo cobraron no se por que motivó. A los dias me llaman diciendo que el monto había subido por que las cajas exedian el peso y ahora el monto era 1780 $ Wao me subieron 300 $ más por supuesto peso extra y les comento que sólo eran 6 cajas. Ok no podia hacer más nada ya que ellos tenían mis cosas. Ya en Miami me llama el chofer para hacerme entrega de mi cosas y cuando abre la puerta resulta que el Boxesprin no estaba forrado no se por que motivó y de paso El Box estaba ROTO por todos lados y asqueroso de sucio y grasa. Me perdieron una pata de la base del Boxesprin. Y tambien se perdió 2 pieza de una maquina para mi espalda que es de suma importancia para mi salud, y lo increíble del caso es que esas piezas no se sacan por que son super duras y de alta resistencia, bueno ahora estoy en proceso de reclamo y sólo Dios sabe si esa gente me pagara mi Boxesprin y mi Máquina para la espalda. Absolutely horrible service, I would give them negative stars if it was possible. To start, they are so friendly and have amazing customer service, letting you know that your stuff will be well taken care of and will arrive on time in great condition. To put it frank, it only got worse. I scheduled my move months in advance and kept being told that the stuff will arrive on a certain date +\- 1 or 2 days, which I understood. A few weeks before I called again and they told me not to worry, the truck is going to be loading soon. A few days before they said a truck is loading now. Come to find out it was a bunch of lies, my stuff didn't arrive for nearly 9 days after its scheduled date. It was so frustrating because the people on the phone kept lying. I was tired of the horrible customer service so I asked to speak to a manager. With an attitude the guy said "I am the manager" and was telling me how I'm wrong and his employees would never lie to a customer. With disrespect at an all time high, I asked for the higher up manager, at this point he said he was the CEO. I was dumbfounded! I said I was going to write a horrible review because of the terrible service and he threatened me that he was going to send his lawyers after me if I wrote a bad review, shocking!! Then after he continued to get heated he HUNG UP THE PHONE! To my disbelief, I couldn't believe it. A few minutes later the CEO called back apologizing. If I could give this company a negative number of stars, I definitely would. They are by far the utmost incompetent business I ever had to deal with in my entire life. I will start by saying that my belongings were delivered to my new address either missing or in pieces. In scattered order they destroyed: my bed frame (which is bended to to point of not being usable and which I have to throw to the trash), my drying rack, my shoe rack, a mirror (scattered into a thousand pieces), my TELEVISION (needs to go to the trash too); my chest of drawers is MISSING along with A BOX!!! My tv stand is also damaged and God knows what other surprises I am going to get as time goes by and I realize other items are missing. Condor was supposed to deliver my belongings on August 15th and they showed up on September 6th--a time in which I slept on the floor and with all the discomforts that not having my belongings entails. I had to struggle to have them to pay a ridiculous $15 per day penalty fee for they lateness, which amounts to $60 only because they came up with a bunch of RIDICULOUS excuses not to pay the entire sum (including that I WAS the cause of their delay because I was gone on Labor day weekend--whereas they had told me that they might have delivered during the days I was gone to my own risk because they could not make arrangements to deliver while I was there). They are a ridiculously incompetent business and when I called to ask them to AT LEAST look for my items they said it might take weeks and knowing them I have absolutely zero hope they are going to find anything at all. PLUS, they have this $500 deductible and they require: 1) PROOF OF PURCHASE of the lost/damaged item in order to issue a refund, 2) to keep the damaged item at home until they solve the issue (which for large, damaged items is a huge hassle, especially if you do not have a garage). This policy to me sounds like a big "screw you" to their poor devil customers. DO NOT HIRE THEM. Do yourself a BIG HUGE favor. They propose a cheap quote but do not bet on it because they come up with a bunch of extra fees. I once called their customer care service (which I would rather call a customer "uncare" service) and this very rude lady attacked me like I was her worst enemy because I was kindly asking her explanation on an unexpected $150 bill. They aren't worth the time, the money, or the energy! Please don't ever use them! I moved from Houston, TX to Milwaukee, WI and this has been the worst and one of the most stressful experiences of my life. 1. They don't do in home estimates which is just an easy way for them to jack up their prices when it comes time for your move. No matter how accurate of an inventory you give them, they'll find a way to boost up the price. 2. Pam Sears, the original sales rep I worked with, conveniently disappeared when it came time for my move to happen, but when she was seeking my business, she wouldn't stop calling my phone. I've called and emailed her several times to express some concerns that I've had and have gotten nothing back from her! 3. I planned my move and made my Downpayment 4 months in advance and made it clear that I was moving at the end of June for my job and was only coming back to Houston for a weekend to get my things on the truck and head back to Milwaukee. They called me the day of my move (July 31) to tell me they weren't coming. Mind you, I had a flight from Houston the next day at 6:30 am. They gave me 2 hundred dollars to change my flight (this was after an hour of being on the phone and complaining), but that didn't matter because what I actually had to pay ended up being more than my original estimate! No savings on my end. 3. The owner I spoke to was rude and unsympathetic to the fact that I had a whole life and a job that I needed to get back to and that it was totally an inconvenience to have to stay in Houston for another day. 4. I was told movers would be to my apt by 9 am the next day (7/31) and they were over 3 hours late which almost caused me to miss my flight! They called at 9:42 am to let me know they were running behind! 5. Fast forward to last night: I get a call from my truck driver asking if he can drop my stuff off right then and there. No. I haven't even gone to pay for my storage unit yet because I was told you would call me a few days before you got here so that I could plan accordingly. I rushed to go and get my storage taken care of this morning, cancelled all of my meetings for work, and sat around all day waiting for them to call. The driver calls me 15 minutes ago to tell me he can't make it to me by 5 pm when my storage place closes. How were you so ready to come to me last night, but you have all day to bring me my stuff and you can't make it? This summer when my husband landed his dream job in Seattle, we knew we didn't want to move out our 4-bedroom house in Dallas and travel with it for almost 3,000 miles. This was our first experience with hiring movers. Hubby had to move almost immediately after receiving his job, so I handled most of the move logistics myself. Now, I had no idea what I was doing. I talked to soooo many moving companies. I had six come out to the house to give me an estimate, but emailed and talked over the phone with a lot more than that. Since I didn't know a whole lot about moving companies, I figured I'd learn something with everyone I talked with....I wasn't just being crazy...right? When Condor came to do my home estimate, they were the first company that came out that I actually liked. They were personal, friendly, and they generally cared about their clients. Amit, who came out for the estimate, gave me a lot of moving advice that none of the other companies would even skim through. I felt completely comfortable and at ease with him and Condor. Since hubby was gone, that was huge bonus. Forward a few weeks and we're at the weekend of the move. My move was scheduled for Saturday, August 1. I closed on my house the day before, my nephew was being baptized on Sunday, and I had to be out of the house on Monday. Friday rolls around and I get a call saying that they are behind schedule...but instead of moving my move date, which they could have easily done (and I feel like any other company would have), the owner of the company grabbed a few of their warehouse guys and came out and moved me just so I could get moved on Saturday. I was so impressed with this level of customer service. They truly just want to make their clients happy. Now on to delivery. Our items arrived in the window of time they estimated. The driver called us about 24 hours before they arrived (as promised). They unloaded everything in about two hours asking exactly where we wanted everything. We did have a couple damages - nothing major, but Condor covers your items 100 percent so we're not worried about it and due to their high level of customer service, I know that we'll be taken care of. And really, we moved almost 3,000 miles away and these guys are awesome. I strongly recommend Condor to anyone who is moving. They made the process so much easier. These by far were the best movers I have had. I started the process with Maj who is wonderful and is always ready to answer any question or request. She's quick on responses and is easily contacted. She took the worry I had of coordinating this move. Then it got even better. Mario contacted me to let me know they were on their way. They showed up timely WHILE IT WAS SNOWING IN TEXAS!!! Who can do that?! The driver, Scott, showed up at the same time with his 18-wheeler. All of the guys introduced themselves to me and started accessing the move. We went room by room to see what was going and staying. Mario told me I had done great at packing and to relax because they had this move under control. That helped my nerves because my move is out of Dallas, Texas to Greeneville, Tennessee. They took care of all of my worldly possessions and moved efficiently. They were chatting with me and putting me at ease. They were wonderful at stacking (Patrick) and quick! The ramp for them to the truck was icy but we added salt and they kept moving. Before I knew it, I was signing my bill of lading and I looked outside. They were done. I had a slight moment of panic to see all of my belongings packed. They put me at ease again and said everything was fine. Scott assured me that he would take care of everything and see me in Tennessee. He was prepared to lay blankets down as I have nothing but tile and wood floors at my new place. Something that was to take 5-10 business days three calendar days!!! Please think twice. My representative (Mario) seemed so professional and sincere on the phone. When things started getting questionable with the company as promised fell through and prices continued to rise, I never heard from Mario again. I was bombarded by mindless automated emails that requested information they already had or additional signatures they already had. Basically communication fell apart. I was guaranteed by Mario that Condor could beat the price I was quoted by "PODS" - where I had my household goods stores. The short version of the story is that I needed up paying about 20-30% more than the PODS quote even after I flew to TX to sell and give away at least half of the items in the "PODS" container. One more example of the lack of professionalism on the part of Condor is that they constantly tried avoid using credit cards as payment because they didn't want to pay the merchant surcharge to the credit company. In this day and age? That is just a cost of doing business. I was told I would have at least 24 hours notice before my items were delivered. I received 12 hours notice. The driver at delivery was pleasant and professional, but arrived alone. He had no crew to move my items in to storage. I ended up having to help him with the larger items that one person could not safely move. Some items arrived damaged. I'm not optimistic about being treated fairly when or if I am reimbursed for damages. Read More
