Before booking with them I tried to get very clear on their pricing and how they charge. I asked specifically is there a trip charge, a fuel charge, etc, etc on top of the cost of the move. The lady I was talking with got the point of what I was asking I'm sure and that's why she began to talk fast and tried to gloss over it and assure me that they only charge by the hour for the move and I wouldn't be charged mileage but that the travel time from point A to point B would be included in the hourly charge. Wrong - As soon as they arrived and asked me to sign the paperwork I find out that I've already been charged for 45 minutes worth of their time which began when they left the last job. I questioned that because it's not what I was led to believe when booking and I got a manager involved who listened to the call and showed no care because apparently the rep used the term 'port to port' with me. I thought that meant from old apartment to new apartment. NO.. it means that they start billing you as soon as they leave the last job and even after they are done they add on the time it takes them to get back to their office. I had to pay $300 for them to sit on their butts and drive. Is that crazy or what? Do you get paid for your drive to work and your drive home? Of course not! Then why in the world does this company think they are so special to do that. I had to stick with the move as do most people because I had to be out that day and so that's why they think they can get away with, in my mind horrendous and deceptive pricing practices. Not only that but while they were billing me for their drive time to me they are also billing the previous customer for the time it would take them to get back to their office. That's double billing and they're getting paid more to drive than to actually work. On the phone they quoted me 2.5-4.5 hours for the move. That was bull. Since I had to pay 45 minutes of drive time before and after the move that would have only left one hour for them to load, drive to the new place, and unload. Impossible so they should have never even quoted 2.5 hours as possible and as soon as they show up before they started they made me sign a revised proposal for 3.5-5.5 hours. Paul and his crew did an okay job with the move but he too showed no understanding or care for how ridiculous the pricing is. I can't in good conscience support a company like this and if you don't want to support that pricing and lack of customer care I'd 'move' along to a different moving company. Read More
