Title: "A Regrettable Experience with 'All My Sons Moving and Storage Company'" I've always believed that reviews serve as a compass for potential customers, guiding them towards or away from a business. Today, I feel compelled to share my recent, unfavourable experience with 'All My Sons, Moving and Storage Company'. I would like to begin by saying, DO NOT hire this company. Our journey started on a sour note when the movers showed up 15 minutes late. To add insult to injury, they wanted to start the clock from the call time rather than the time they actually began working. The real shock came when they presented a contract that significantly digressed from the quote provided over the phone. It's a clever tactic, I must admit. They had already loaded our belongings onto the truck, and to cancel the contract at that point, we would have had to pay to unload our own possessions. But the surprises didn't stop there. They started charging for things that are generally included in standard moving packages by other companies. They charged for tape, moving blankets, gas, and even shrink wrap. It felt like every small thing was an excuse to add an extra fee. The truck they brought was too small to accommodate our 1400 square feet apartment. So, they proposed making two trips, which I declined. Instead, I was forced to put the remaining items on my own truck. Despite being told over the phone that we could bag our clothing, the movers insisted we needed to use their boxes once they arrived. This inconsistency was just another example of the smoke and mirrors tactics used by this company. In my opinion, this company is a rip-off. I would strongly advise anyone considering using their services to record all phone conversations, and meticulously go over the details of the contract before they move a single item from your home. I wouldn't hesitate to use these guys again! I faced the daunting task of relocating my daughter's hair and tanning salon, a job too massive for me, a few friends, and a truck. In my search for professional moving services, I landed on All My Sons Moving and Storage based on their stellar reputation, as attested by positive reviews. While there are cheaper services out there, I firmly believe in the adage, "You get what you pay for," and boy, am I grateful for sticking to that principle! Fidel, Carlos, Andres, and Dubis were exceptional! Punctual and highly professional, they exceeded my expectations by going above and beyond to ensure everything was meticulously prepared to prevent any damage during the move. I was so disappointed in my move. I was excited to be moving and read all the positive reviews on this company and decided I would try a reputable company instead of the fly by night people b/c I didn't think they would gauge me for money. But I have NEVER paid this much or had it take this long to move a 1 bedroom apartment. I moved from a 1 bedroom 2nd story apt to a 2 bedroom downstairs apt IN THE SAME COMPLEX and it took them over 6 hrs. and COST ME $1000.00. I had everything boxed up, my bed was completely broken down as was my sectional. I only had 1 big screen tv, a desk, washer dryer (unhooked)and NO dining table or chairs. My oldest son did about 6 or 7 trips moving the little stuff that would fit in my car while they were there working and it still took them over 6 hrs. They had all my boxes out within 45 min (as I had them all stacked in the same place & ready to be moved) and then I don't know what happened, but the pace dropped significantly after that. I was told I didn't need to unpack my dresser that they would shrink wrap it when I called to get the quote, movers said No, and then proceeded to charge me for a wardrobe boxes. I called to discuss the cost of the shrink wrap prior to the move as I read in the contract that it is extra. Person on the phone said usually for an apartment move maybe $20. They used shrink wrap on my dresser, nightstand and desk and I was charged $50. I was also told over the phone that I did not have to use a mattress cover if I didn't want one, I said since it's such a short move I didn't. The movers didn't ask and while I was in the back dealing with other things, they proceeded to use one and then charge me. It took one guy over 20 min to wrap my TV (poorly I might add - see picture) and he had to wait and ask for help. At the new apartment, I was so frustrated, that I didn't even have them put the boxes in their assigned rooms, told them to just unload everything into the dining room (as I didn't have a dining room set yet). I did not have them assemble anything, we did my bed, sectional and hooked up w/d ourselves, just as we had them unassembled prior to arrival. They used a rock to prop open my door to my new unit, which was fine, until one of them caught it with the furniture dolly and dragged it across my new flooring until I told him what was happening, he could tell the dolly was moving differently, but just kept pushing it. One of the movers apparently couldn't do anything w/o instructions from the other guy, and the other guy would disappear and then I would find one just standing there waiting for instructions. Again, this move cost me over $1000.00 to move me w/I the same complex and took over 6 hours to complete. It was a very simple move, nothing complex, I had all the big stuff broken down already and everything else boxed. The only positive thing I can say is that both the movers were very polite. But past that, I am sorely disappointed and do not recommend. I was sent three young JASMINE, all around the age of 20 to 23 who had no very little experience and moving. I was quoted the job would take four hours and the job ended up taking eight hours to move a few pieces of furniture less than a mile to charge me $178 per hour but they charge me 15% of that amount for gas and then an extra hour travel time. 4 o'clock rolled around the bus called as they were unloading the last of my things including my refrigerator that they had taken apart and I was requested to pay $2000 before they would unload the rest of my things and then it took them another hour, unload and put the other refrigerator. I would have to pay more. I did not properly wrap and protect my furniture. They damaged my stove. They cracked my solid wood, hardwood kitchen table and prior to the job. I called and requested their liability insurance certificate and sent a fraudulent document that was filled with fake names and addresses they do not have liability insurance for anyone injured while on the job. Just a warning For anyone in the future thinking of hiring them. The owner or boss did not care about anything about getting his money and had charges on there for like boxes and mirror covers and everything for artwork and TV and mirrors that they never used there's one used and they moved probably seven of my mirrors never wrapped them. They didn't wrap my bed which is also cracked and they did not wrap my refrigerator After taking it apart, they didn't shut things down in the bed of the truck properly which is how my stove and everything got damaged including the solid wood mahogany kitchen table. My refrigerator is still in pieces in my garage. This includes the doors that were removed in order to get it out of my front door the front pieces of the bottom, two drawers for the freezer and all the glass shelves that I'm myself had to find my drill and use myself to unscrew, and had to load myself in my own car because they do not even remove the glass shelves from the refrigerator until I made them this one I did not trust them not to damage the doors. When I made the appointment, I told him about what needs to be removed and the agreement I told him the refrigerator and stove house needed to be moved back to my old house again a mile away. Their boss had leave everything and now I have to find other movers to get them back to my old house. Dan, for the damaged items I was not giving anything to agreeing to the cost or anything about the move until after it was already finished in order to have them just unload the last items of my things they were holding hostage on the truck. Of course the owner did not care want to talk about the false liability certificate I was sent and told me that I knew a lot about the liability certificate, and he wasn't quite informed as I was and needed to talk to corporate for continuing talking to me about it. I still have not heard anything from them, but I don't. I have to find a lawyer for falsifying a document and insurance fraud, but as well as my damaged Items that were improperly handled. Luckily I have everything several security cameras and security footage showing them not even wrapping or doing anything to protect my items. Including my wooden headboard, which is cracked now as well. I have not even looked inside the drawers of the dressers that they told me to use everything in before turning them upside down. Please be very careful and watch every employee they send because I found them in my bedroom just looking around when we were done trying to leave as well as the closet I keep all my tools in claiming he was cleaning up - there is nothing to clean up and they didn't clean up anything else in the house but I am missing a brand new drill as well as my house keys. Strangely enough, I was randomly handed a bag that one of them said they found that had a large keychain of old keys that are useless inside. I have no clue where he found these keys. I recently did a move and a piece of my furniture was broken in less than 30 minutes this was supped to be an experienced team. The insurance is garbage and the item they broke cost me over 3K purchased from Arhaus and less than year old. They are offering me 120 dollar!!! My move was more than that and my tip! (I know stupid to tip but I expected them to do right by me). I will Never Again and this is my fault for not waiting for a more Reputable company so I want to make sure you know do not do it if you have nice furniture. They don't call you or come out like their process states , you just receive an email with n offer of 120 dollars. ....worst experience ever. They quoted us a price of $1200ish to move from Heights to Copperfield. It ended up being $2100 due to the crew struggling to disassemble my bed for 1.5 hours. During this time, employees were taking 30 minute bathroom breaks, smoke breaks, and I had to go to Home Depot to get some tools since they didn't come prepared. They almost ran over a tree in the complex and dinged up a couple places in the place I am moving out of....just lack of care. Hopefully this doesn't cost me my deposit. When we arrived at the place I was moving into, I was immediately asked about a tip...right after being charged $2100 for this move I was quoted $1200 for. They also damaged a wooden piece of furniture of ours, told me to submit a claim, but didn't give me the contact number. When they finished up at 3:30 pm on a Friday with my house, their supervisor was sending them to move some other people's house to move them..I can only imagine how that went. They seem very overworked and not trained properly. Overall this was a terrible experience compared to last year when we used Einstein's. This company claims their third man makes the experience faster. It doesn't. Third man hangs out in bathroom for a total of 2 hours. Then gets out and asks for tip. Don't use this company. They were late delivering the next day. And the rest of our items showed up 3 days later. We unpacked empty huge boxes that just had paper and old tape rolls. No wonder they "ran out of room" China and glass were tossed in boxes while a pillow was wrapped? None of the hardware was with the furniture items. So many items were broken, office chair, china, glass, new TV, pots, the rest of the furniture has gashes and finish scratched off. Clothes were hug with tape instead of hanging bar. And more empty huge boxes packed with one or two items. They didn't even unwrap furniture and put it together because they lost the hardware. They literally left blankets and everything wrapped. The move started with the driver calling to tell me they were on their way and forgetting to hang up his phone, telling the rest of the truck that they were moving an "old bitch". I called the main number to immediately report it and they apologized and said they would send a different driver. However, I believe they only rotated employees. They were supposed to show up at 9 AM, but didn't get there till noon. They dropped and broke an heirloom curio cabinet. The wood was cracked, and the glass was smashed, not repairable. Also they could not fit all of my stuff and left a small load behind. I was told that I could pay more money for them to come back and get it. When we got to the house to unload, it was 9 PM and dark outside. The movers were in a hurry and didn't put the cabinets back together with the shelves, or take all of their moving blankets. I had to take off the packing tape and blankets myself. I had already paid $3500 for the move so the second move cost me an additional $600. I was instructed to file a claim for the broken cabinet. I went online and found a replacement cabinet for approximately $500, same brand. I submitted my claim and also mentioned the gouges in my dining room chair. I was offered $225 only. The move started with the driver calling to tell me they were on their way and forgetting to hang up his phone, telling the rest of the truck that they were moving an "old bitch". I called the main number to immediately report it and they apologized and said they would send a different driver. However, I believe they only rotated employees. They were supposed to show up at 9 AM, but didn't get there till noon. They dropped and broke an heirloom curio cabinet. The wood was cracked, and the glass was smashed, not repairable. Also they could not fit all of my stuff and left a small load behind. I was told that I could pay more money for them to come back and get it. When we got to the house to unload, it was 9 PM and dark outside. The movers were in a hurry and didn't put the cabinets back together with the shelves, or take all of their moving blankets. I had to take off the packing tape and blankets myself. I had already paid $3500 for the move so the second move cost me an additional $600. I was instructed to file a claim for the broken cabinet. I went online and found a replacement cabinet for approximately $500, same brand. I submitted my claim and also mentioned the gouges in my dining room chair. I was offered $225 only. When I hiring the movers, I explained that I would not have an opportunity to pack or wrap items. Donny understood and explained that I would have to pay for supplies used in the process. I understood and accepted that policy. Unfortunately, the movers did not shrink wrap my items that needed it. They put a cover over the top of my buffet and did not secure the legs. They drug it when placing it on the truck causing damage. I kept asking if they were going to shrink wrap my dining room table? The response I received was, “It’s going to storage.” I had a box marked fragile that was not properly secured in the back of the truck when we arrive to the storage. The gentleman that moved me were quick and they worked under a stressful situation, however, I would stress that they follow the agreement that was made upon hiring. I’m not sure what my dining room table and buffet are going to look like when I remove them from storage. ***Update*** After reading my review a representative reached out and expressed concern about my experience. I called a week prior to my move as it was not planned ahead and spoke to 3 people, first being "Jennifer" which I now know is Johnifer. Then a Todd or something going to MATT. He assured me he's part owner of the company as all the employees are and that they could help me move. After checking the schedule the little worm called to confirm, I guess Johnifer needed time off. Originally she asked me details, and I told her third floor apartment directly by elevator that was fully furnished and real wood dressers and cabinets. "No problem" sounds like 3 of our guys can do it in perhaps a few hours and we have a 2 hour minimum. She took my info including email address and said a written quote would be sent. Matt calls me day later to "really schedule" and lay down his BS. They had Saturday morning move booked but could move me between 12-3, and would call prior for a better estimated time. My parents come, while apartment is packed, got the mattress pads they said needed or would charge $15 extra each, took the TVs ourselves to prevent their policy damages... 3:00 rolls around and I call. Matt says the crew is still out, expects to hear from them by 4 and will call before they come out. He calls me at 3:55 to tell me they can arrive between 7-8... I have voicemails to cover all of this. I call him right back and say it's unacceptable and I would've never agreed to that timeframe. I do understand a lot of people are misplaced in Houston area and moving at the moment... but I did pay $100 downpayment prior to his "promise to take care of us". Movers, cool going guys called 15 minutes before, I helped them park at my apartments... about 7pm. Was worried they would be worn out from that all morning and all day move. Nope. 3 very young thin boys who couldn't even park the truck. They had an order for a "quick move" one says. I show them to the elevator and apartment, they walk through with eyes bugged out because I have real, solid wood furniture and one of them comments. Said they were going to get equipment then little wormy Matt calls.... those boys were sitting in the truck telling him it would be a 6 hour past midnight move and cost $1200. Who are professionals of over 20 years. I said they aren't even 20 and he argues they only hire professionals. Meanwhile my cancer sick father runs down stairs to catch these guys, as a good old guy, trying to solve a problem. These boys didn't want to work tonight, but offered if he got a UHAUL and paid cash then they would come do it tomorrow off of "all my sons" time. I called Matt, he laughed and hung up. I called again to the 6 different numbers I had and he kept sending me in "hold" loops. So while on hold for 12 minutes I called from my dads phone and he answered the second ring. I lost it and that little worm has issues. Said he would refund and bye. These boys didn't want to work tonight, but offered if he got a UHAUL and paid cash then they would come do it tomorrow off of "all my sons" time. I called Matt, he laughed and hung up. I called again to the 6 different numbers I had and he kept sending me in "hold" loops. So while on hold for 12 minutes I called from my dads phone and he answered the second ring. I lost it and that little worm has issues. Said he would refund and bye. So I actually got an email confirmation that the move was canceled, no mention of the $100 deposit... but remember they never emailed me a quote or saw anything. We were originally quoted $129 per hour to move. We confirmed this with the movers when they showed up. While they were moving one of them spent the majority of the time on the phone with what sounded like his girlfriend. It would have been no big deal if it was just a short call, but he spent the majority of the move on his phone. After loading rhe truck, on the way to the new place they stopped at the gas station for food and drinks. The move was only 3.5 hours total. The guy later told me that he hadn't eaten all day. They arrived in the morning and left by lunch, so it would have been more productive and professional if they would have eater breakfast before coming to work. I offered pizza and soda when we arrived at our destination, but given how short the move was, I would expect them to be able to go 3 hours without food. Upon arriving at out destination, they tell me that the total will be $944, but since we paid the $100 deposit, I have to pay them $844 before they can take anything off of the truck. At this point they had only worked for 2.5 hours and I didn't understand how it could be so much money in such a short period of time. Then they tell me that the labor, gas, and shrink wrap isn't inclued in the hourly rate. Keep in mind that our new home is only a 15 minute drive from our old home. After this my husband and I decided it would be quicker if we help them unload the truck. There we were trying to help them get what we can off the truck and they were lackluster and mostly taking pillows and clothing. They did take the big furniture which I am grateful for, but when we went to sit on our bed we noticed that they kicked a hole in our wall and they also put a dent in our ceiling. Itwould be so bad if when it happened they said hey ma'am sorry we accidentally kicked a hole in your wall and dented the ceiling, but no one mentioned it and it wasn't noticed until right after they left. If I could give this company a "0" star I would. Not only did they show up late, they broke a glass coffee table that I purchased from a high end modern furniture store. I had wait 2 weeks for a reply and the best they can do is give me $0.60/lb per item damaged. So my $1200 table was reduced to $18 satisfactory check. Now I have to send in more forms and wait up to 3-4 weeks to get a check in the mail. Or, by writing this response, I've forfeited the right to ask for damages by bad mouthing this company. Lesson learned. Read the reviews posted by others and expect the same "sorry apology" response message that they send with every complaint. No sense of humility. Used them because I was in a bit of a time crunch. Booked about 1.5 to 2 weeks before my move. Got two men for nearly twenty dollars more per hour than another company quoted me for three men, but the other company didn't have the time slot I needed. They charge you a ten percent fuel charge on top of one hour of labor being added for travel time (not including the distance between your two moving locations - this is for them to get to you and back to their warehouse) so basically before they've touched any of your stuff you owe them $150+ depending on how far the warehouse is from you. Movers were actually pretty fast (until the tail end) and polite. However, one of my nightstands and my headboard for a bedroom set that cost me $3500+ were both placed on the bare floor of the truck without being wrapped - both were scratched. Was charged 3 hours of labor for TWO men and during the last thirty minutes my second mover was sitting in the truck cooling off while the driver was in my room putting together my bedroom furniture. EDIT: From two stars to one. Now noticing that the headboard to my bed wasn't tightly secured. Moves visibly when touched. Only reason I tipped these guys is because I was a mover in college. The charges broke down as such $119*2hrs $238 is what we should of paid no problem. But wait $119 "DRIVE TIME" charge yes they charged us to drive to our house... Wait that's one way.... So then another $120 to drive back to there office. There office is inside loop on 290 close to beltway 8 we live off 290 and cypress rose hill. I don't think that's fair for $119 each way.... Also, what should've taken 2 hours to move took more than 4 hours!!! These guys were slow as molasses!! So I had to pay these hustlers $477 minus a deposit of $50 so $419 and some change. Then made us pay up in the middle of the move they were not even done yet. It gets better, one of the guys broke the leg on my wife's mirror and tried to put a screw to fix it. I would like to give zero stars but I can't . I received a quote for $169 per hour for team of 4 professionals with an extra hour for travel. Then I was told I had to pay prior to unload so they hold your furniture as hostage . They charged my gas which was not quoted and 6.5hrs to move 10pcs of bulk furniture and 10 boxes chairs etc.These so called professionals had no tools to take apart beds etc so I did all of that for them !! Within an hour of starting they took a smoke break!! Then I moved 3 beds myself whilst they were thinking about doing something ! They have no methodology on how to move furniture carefully and expeditious, one stands watching the other work! Take a look at my $ 700 dinning chairs I posted above. I talked to the manager during this horrendous experience with little support I also sent about 80 emails with photos with no reply. Please do not use this company.
