Using All My Sons in South Austin (Luke, Scott and Jacob Keeler) was the biggest mistake I've ever made - and I’ve made a lot. If every single other moving company is out of business in Austin and you have no other choice, then proceed with caution if you use them. Here's why. For starters, I received an estimate from Amy Mathis via FaceTime. I went from room to room showing her everything and advised her some of these things wouldn't be moved because I'm selling and/or giving them away. In the end, I was charged $2,000 OVER the estimate even though everything wasn't moved and even given to the movers. So just know their estimate doesn't mean diddly. You pay for the time that's spent AND the number of guys that show up. Day 1: Four guys showed up late, without any water and in a relatively small truck (but bigger than Day 2). They planned to make two trips in one day within the 10 miles between the new and old houses. Instead of actually doing much, one guy just stood outside by the truck waiting for furniture, I can only assume. Just standing there. Things were going OK in the beginning, but by late afternoon they had only managed to put the first load in the truck. And by 4 p.m. we headed to the new house to drop off the first load. During this time, I had to go to the store to get them water and buy them a pizza because they showed up with NOTHING. As soon as we arrived, a mover's girlfriend went into labor, but instead of sending a replacement mover, it was pushed to a second day even though Day 2 wasn't planned. He did manage to stay long enough to eat part of the pizza. So, at this point I had no idea whether the remainder of my stuff would even be moved because no one would give me a straight answer. Day 2: I didn't find out until the next morning that three of the same guys would be out to move the rest. I stressed out the entire night of Day 1 while sleeping on a chair that had yet to be moved. None of this would have been such a big deal had the truck they brought on Day 2 actually been an adequate size. Fast forward to around 2 p.m. of Day 2, and they FINALLY had the truck loaded, but not everything since the truck wasn't big enough. Instead, I was responsible for the remaining items they couldn't fit inside since they clearly weren't making another trip even though I had no way to move it. They didn't care. Once we arrived at my new home, the movers didn’t set up any items as promised. In fact, they left things in plastic wrap and were apparently in such a hurry that they left two moving blankets. My parting gift I guess. I'm not even sure why it took them SO long since there were initially four movers on Day 1 and that's what I paid for. And literally, nothing was set up except my bed. They didn't even bring in my fridge. They left it in the garage with bent screws where the handles went. The movers left their nasty trash in my yard at BOTH houses even though there was a big trash can in the garage. They put holes in the walls, scratched the wood floors and broke a marble table and armoire. These movers managed to put a huge chip in a wooden armoire I’ve moved three times before with even getting a ding. It’s like they specialize in screwing up stuff. I cannot emphasize this enough: The entire move was over $2,000 MORE than the estimate and took an extra day than was expected. And some of my stuff was broken! They didn't care at all. So the bottomline, use anyone else or do it yourself because All My Sons in South Austin is literally the worst in every way you wouldn’t want them to be – worst movers, worst people, worst ethics. I walked the estimator around my house on Facetime and showed him every single thing that needed to be packed and they were also going to store my belongings until my apartment was ready. The day of the move (June 26), I got a call at 3pm saying they actually couldn't store my items and I needed to go across town and open storage units at a Uhaul storage facility (which costs me $350 in additional storage costs). I left the house and did so as the movers said they were almost done and would meet me there. Once they got there, I returned to the house to find closets and kitchen drawers filled with things they were supposed to pack, furniture remaining, etc. I called and told them they needed to come back and finish the job. They said it would require another $500. I was desperate at that point and agreed. I ended up staying at the house and packing a number of things for them to just move things along. The next day (June 27), they showed up but I had to leave. I had a neighbor stop by after they said that they had moved everything out only to get about 40 pictures of things they had left behind including clothes, furniture and personal items. I called and texted them saying they needed to go back for these things but they stopped returning my calls. I had to get friends to get the remaining items out of my house. Then I got a charge for the original quote plus $1400. I disputed the second charge with my credit card only to receive a document where my signature had been FORGED saying that they had completed the move and I was satisfied (I did not sign such document). Then when my items were removed from storage and I unpacked them, there were many items smashed, a bed that the screws had been stripped and had to be replaced, many missing items including a bed that I had ordered that was still in a box, a bike that the gears were bent, etc. I could go on and on about all of the damage that was done to my things. I submitted a claim for $3600 with documentation for every penny only to receive a settlement offer of $60. I had a terrible experience with All My Sons. have many complaints. TL;DR: All My Sons is a rip off - ruined my couch and charged me for time that were on the phone and disappeared while driving. The move started out rough - I received a call saying that the movers would be finishing up their previous move and headed our way in 10 minutes. Great! I headed home and proceeded to wait THREE HOURS for them to arrive. Not a great start. The first thing the movers did upon entering the house was put a hand on my bright white couch - leaving a black hand print. "Oh no!" I said, pointing out the handprint. The mover shrugged and said "Do you want us to wrap it?" ... Yes. So they wrapped it, but not well enough. They completely ruined my $3,000 white couch by not properly wrapping it and dragging it down the hallway, even though I said to the movers multiple times to "be careful, that's white" "please wrap it well, it's white" and they still left dirty handprints all on it. I tried to have a fabric cleaner come in and they said it is unable to be cleaned. When the movers came, they started my time ($195/hour) and then shoved an iPad in my face which required at least 10 signatures and paperwork that I could have easily taken an hour to review. I wish they would have provided the paperwork before they got there because I would have not went with these movers. The "liability" policy is terrible. I did pay for additional liability and they still only offered me $195 for my couch, even though I provided receipts from February that the purchase price was $3,000. I did accept the offer because what am I going to do? Go to small claims court? Additionally, one of the movers was constantly on his phone, talking to corporate about paperwork, about taking my payment, about questions I had on the paperwork. He was on the phone for at least 30 minutes. Lastly, when we were driving from our old place to our new place, the movers were supposed to be following my husband, but ended up arriving 10 minutes after him, which was time we were charged for. DON'T EVER USE THIS COMPANY. Looking back, no wonder they were so kind to me. They still wanted to get more money out of me for the second move from the storage facility to our new house. I should have taken that into consideration. Everything that I experienced the first time using this company didn't happen or come close to the second time using All My Sons. The movers were not professional. They were on the phone, on speaker, no less during the move. I had requested the same movers I had on my first move. I was told two of them no longer worked for the company. That should have been a red flag. They really struggled getting our furniture upstairs. The scuff marks all around our brand new house and the hole in the new wall show it. They stuffed everything into the garage even though every box was labeled where it should go and each room was labeled as well to make it easier. But I guess it was just easier stuffing it all in the garage. They charged for packing supplies & I didn't notice it until after I had signed. My fault. Not sure why I was charged with new packing supplies when they had already charged me the first time. Then right before they leave, it's by the way, your stove is broken. I'm not sure if it was us, or it was that way when we picked it up from storage. Well, all my sons did both my moves, so either way it was your company so way to take accountability. He says don't worry, we'll take care of it. Just file the claim. I file the claim. Claims department says we can pay the minimum which turns out to be $96. $96?! I contest and ask for more. Claims department (AB Balderas) says they will give me $250 and not anything more. I get that he or she does claims all day. But this was a new experience for me and there was zero compassion, I didn't feel like there was any empathy. I absolutely absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND this company. Maybe if all you're moving is stuff you don't mind breaking. Or if you are okay with scuffs in your walls and subpar customer service. DNU! From the beginning, it was a rocky move. I would give zero stars, but that's unavailable. 1. The day prior to the move, I was called and asked if I could move the date back a day. I agreed to do so and was told I would received a $50 discount for my flexibility. This was not on the final statement. 2. They smoked in my "smoke free" apartment complex. 3. When we got to the new apartment, they left their card reader at my old apartment. They asked me to go back while they unloaded the truck, so I did. 4. When I arrived at the old apartment for the reader, I get a call saying they are done. I didn't realize this would be a problem until the boss (Gerardo I believe) called me. His tone was extremely condescending and he said "you are still on the clock". I am not sure why the clock was running when I was doing THEM a favor. 5. When I arrived back to the new apartment, the men had kept my dresser hostage on the truck until I paid. 6. I was overcharged by almost $300! Absolutely absurd on the pricing. Do not trust their quote. 8. When I go to turn my TV on that night, I noticed it was completed broken! I checked my smaller one, and that was also broken! The claims department got back to me and will only be reimbursing me $150 TOTAL for both my $600 TV that is less than 2 years old and my $250 TV. DNU! From the beginning, it was a rocky move. I would give zero stars, but that's unavailable. 1. The day prior to the move, I was called and asked if I could move the date back a day. I agreed to do so and was told I would received a $50 discount for my flexibility. This was not on the final statement. 2. They smoked in my "smoke free" apartment complex. 3. When we got to the new apartment, they left their card reader at my old apartment. They asked me to go back while they unloaded the truck, so I did. 4. When I arrived at the old apartment for the reader, I get a call saying they are done. I didn't realize this would be a problem until the boss (Gerardo I believe) called me. His tone was extremely condescending and he said "you are still on the clock". I am not sure why the clock was running when I was doing THEM a favor. 5. When I arrived back to the new apartment, the men had kept my dresser hostage on the truck until I paid. 6. I was overcharged by almost $300! Bad Experience - but one guy got involved and made it right. Hired these guys to move us from Leander to Cedar Park (less than 5 miles). Sales guy (Alan Dull) was great, gave us quote and we spent 10 minutes discussing the antique (100 year old) piano that is extremely heavy (1000 lbs) and how they would need to care for it. Day of the move it seemed all was fine...until we opened up the seat of the piano and found the foot pedal the movers broke off and then tried to hide. They never mentioned it and then my wife went to further inspect the furniture.....Beds were not reassembled correctly, scratches on many pieces and a headpiece was broken off a mirror. (See attached pics). NEVER SAID A WORD TO US ABOUT THE DAMAGE THAT THEY HAD TO KNOW ABOUT!!!! Filed the claim and then the real issues got started. We called and emailed and finally got a discussion going. Initial settlement was $339. I had a professional piano repair quote for $500 for just the piano, the other repairs to the furniture was another $500. Total of $1000 worth of damages. I asked to settle at $750 - I am not hard hearted. They asked us to justify the repairs including the weight of the piano as they are liable for 60 cents times the weight of the piano. I finally got them to review the claim again after resending pics and an estimated weight on the piano from a source I had to find. Then they went silent and simply sent me Docusign contract for $500. No explanation, rationale, nothing. Just sign here. I called Alan Dull and told him what happened on Friday March 25. He was honest with me about what he could control and said he would talk to his operations manager and explain the situation. Said he would call me back on Monday March 28 and let me know if he could help. As promised - Alan called and was able to assist, getting our claim resolved for the $750. If Alan Dull could control our whole move I believe I might use these guys again but he is not in control of the physical move. Thanks to Alan for getting this done. We hired All My Sons to handle our move mainly because they claimed to insure their work. We were moving into our very first home and it was brand new. That morning we repeatedly instructed them to take extra care with the floors. However, the crew did not take the time to do so; and as a result created large gashes in our brand new floors. Additionally, they broke the leg off of a large, expensive dresser. We were upset of course, but were confident that they would honor the insurance they offered. That confidence was misplaced. The corporate office had several hoops for us to jump through and I spent hours on hold and getting rerouted to find the correct department to speak with. Finally I was given a customer care claim number and told to print off the paperwork, fill it out and send it in. I was told to expect this to take up to two weeks to have the paperwork processed and receive a response. I did what they said, but didn't hear anything back. After a few weeks went by I became worried why hadn't I heard back, so I followed up. They claimed to have never received the paperwork. When I offered to redo it and resend it they told me not to bother because they were now outside the time frame where they were legally required to help us, and they refused to help us in any way. I feel that we were lied to and manipulated so that they would not have to reimburse us for the dresser they broke and the floor they ruined.
