I simply can't imagine a more inept or irresponsible group of people than the employees at Air 1 Moving and Storage. I also can't imagine that any of the positive reviews are actually genuine. My horrible experience mirrors every other one star review that they have... so if nothing else, they are at least consistent. The guys were awesome! They were both professional and time-efficient. They showed up timely and worked their butts off to help get us moved. They brought a truck with plenty of space for our 3 bedroom house and moved us to a 3rd floor apartment. They were kind, courteous, and incredibly hard working. They had a great attitude and were very communicative about my large items to make sure everything made it safe and sound. They took extra care of all of my furniture and even delivered my 86" tv without a problem. I can't speak for other companies, but for the value and professionalism I experienced, I'll never use anyone else. Matt was extreemely helpful throughout the move. They knew what they were doing, were very efficient with their time, and very friendly to top it off! We will definitely be using them again in the future!! Read More

Don't book with Air 1. They will break your expensive electronics and refuse to reimburse you properly. I do not ever leave reviews, but my experience with Air 1 has been so terrible I have to put it out there so that hopefully someone reads it and finds a better mover. I initially booked my move through First National Van Lines (whole other negative experience) who contracted Air 1. 1. Air 1 treated my pregnant wife and I like we were a burden upon them the whole time. We could not ask any questions, we were in the way, etc. 2. They took advantage of the fact that I did not know what I was signing, and rushed me through the document signing process on moving day. This resulted in me unknowingly agreeing to the bare minimum insurance for my belongings. 3. I swear, because they know they won't be held liable, they are very rough with your belonging and have zero consideration with what is fragile. 4. When they do break something (they broke my ~$1499 TV) the mover will tell you that the home office will take care of it. Which they won't. After literal months of reviewing my case through a third party, they are "generously" offering me $119. I have already disputed this, but I am now told this is the final decision and I get to deal with it. 5. They will give you 0 indication of when your stuff will be delivered to your new place. I was initially told it would be next day. We did not get our belongings for four days because they did not set proper expectations. Look, just find another moving company, these guys are not even cheap for the terrible service they offer. You can get better quality for less money elsewhere. The driver (his name is Hadi as I remember), called me on 06/28 at 6:07PM and tried to schedule the move for me. He explained to me that he investigated the area (based on Google Maps) that his Semi 18-Wheeler won't be able to pass through the Loading Area, hence, there is a need for a shuttle service that is about $700. I asked the property manager the next day and she even got on a call with the driver and explained to him that throughout her tenure at this building, there were many semi 18-wheelers delivering furniture and explained to the driver that they can block the back street right by the Loading Zone for the move, however, the driver did not coordinate and insisted on shuttle service, and he also offered that I rent a truck and pick up from him to save money which of course I declined! The street curb to curb width is 171" Wide which is a generous size for driving a 112" wide Semi Truck. I was very collaborative with the driver and tried to book the service elevator for him, but he was unable to give me a day and time for delivery until the last minute. The driver was changing around the schedule last minute and initially told me that he can deliver on Wednesday and after I asked property management to book the elevator (as it's super busy and they need 3 days of notice) they moved their service elevator schedules, however, he canceled last minute. The driver was got a truck on Friday 07/02, and I accommodated Service Elevator in our Loading Zone. He mentioned that if loading zone is full or service elevator is busy and not only at his service, but he also won’t collaborate with me. When he arrived, he asked me for $1,100 for long carry and shuttle services in addition to remaining balance and he was paid in full before unloading. After driver told me he is done with all items and I explained and showed him the item numbers that were missing, he aggressively and rudely told me I have to contact the company and after I showed him damages he and his team done to items and the wall and I politely asked him to be more cautious, he told me he rudely and very aggressively declined to assemble my items and he is done here and that's when I called the company and asked for help resolving the conflict which I did not hear back and the driver left me with all furniture unassembled. It took me 3 trips to Lowe's and Home Depot to get tools I needed for assembly and 2 full days to assemble all items, and I did not sign delivery paperwork as delivery was done incomplete. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY A COMPLETE SCAM. By far the absolute worse company you can book with. After booking with them, the day of the move we were charged an extra 1000$ that was not stated in our contract. Not only that, the movers busted my turtle cage all over my loft after everything was packed up. Literally nothing to clean the water up with but my 3 comforter blankets. Not to mention the mover lied about calling his boss and informing him of the mishap. So I asked for the number myself I spoke with a lady the mover snatch the phone while on speaker phone the lady responds "I don't care it's Sunday" as if to say Fck it figure it out. Truly appalled I was disgusted. Fast forward to our drop date. I called the actual dispatcher who is delivering our things he tells me "don't call me. Absolute WORST moving company!!!! They under estimate so they can charge you even more on the overage. Even the actual movers that picked up our belongings told us the estimators do it ALL the time and they are stuck dealing with the disgruntled customers. They charged us an extra $3,000 !!! We were emailed by the office that our shipment finally left (days late) CA to WA. But when my husband called the driver they said they had NOT left and would not be leaving for 3 more days! Called the office and she had the nerve to tell us, sure she made a mistake but “it’s still getting there faster than any other company!” The audacity of her! And 1.5 weeks late is NOT faster! The movers that delivered were unprofessional. Broke a number of things while unloading. Broke a light fixture on the ceiling because they were careless. Used my restroom and clogged the toilet. Didn’t say anything to us, but my step-father went in immediately after and found the situation. Then another one used the clogged toilet before we could fix it and FLOODED the bathroom and it leaked down to the main floor. Didn’t say anything to us again. When I was upset (cleaning up broken glass and the flooded bathroom and setting bowls out to catch the leaks from the flooding) and brought it all up to them they had ZERO remorse! “Oh, well just put it all on a claim”. They also complained/moaned/groaned that we have two flights of stairs, only bringing up a total of maybe 20 boxes and a king size memory foam mattress, which we paid extra for them to take up. They are lucky we didn’t need them to take all of our belongings and furniture up as well because we decided to store it all in the garage. They are super slow. In fact I am writing this as they are unloading still, 4 hours later!!!! Extremely careless with our belongings and overall just terrible to deal with. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! Read More

Our cross country move was a complete train wreck. They sent a truck that was to small so we had to discard many things as no solution was offered. The shipment arrived with a 1 month delay and a lot of damage to "professionally" wrapped furniture and 4 boxes missing. I would give this company NO STARS IF I COULD - We took a risk with this company and it was an added stress on top of an already stressful situation. During Covid my Husband lost his job and he found one in Illinois...we had 3 weeks to move from Los Angeles to Oak park, IL. He contacted Air 1 moving and initially, Morty (who was very nice over the phone) took all our info, number of boxes we'd have, furniture pieces, square footage of our storage, he talked with him for 45 minutes giving all the details of our apartment location and where our stuff was moving to...we felt confident everything would be ok. Wrong. When Movers arrived, they had no idea what we had. They thought we were only moving furniture and no boxes, no info on the storage unit, my husband called a friend to carry the furniture down the stairs because that was an additional $500 so we did it ourselves. We gave the guys half in cash as requested and went on our way. A day before we get to our new apartment in Oak Park we receive calls from the driver of the truck alerting us to a new $500 charge because he had to get a smaller truck and another $500 he would add to our balance if movers walk more than 75 feet. We were speaking with Kasey at this time who kept repeating himself about what an inconvenience this was FOR HIM. We needed to have him at the apartment at 11 am due to apartment rules our freight elevator cannot be used earlier than 11 am. He was really upset by this and wanted us to guarantee him a window of 8 am - 12 noon...AS WE WERE ON THE ROAD. When I told him we are driving and couldn't speak to apartment management right then and there his response to me was to "calm down, cause I am driving too." He bulldozed over us, HE KEPT TALKING AND TALKING AND DID NOT LET US SPEAK OR ASK QUESTIONS, HE CUT US OFF EVERY CHANCE HE COULD GET, as we were obviously stressed out and unsure of what we could do I settled into we just have to get this over with. This company put us in a really bad and uncomfortable situation. We moved all the stuff in our apartment ourselves with no help from the movers other than loading our furniture and boxes off the truck to avoid that additional $500. In addition to that, there was a piece missing, when I questioned the lead mover, Kasey, he stated the missing item was "one of the plastic boxes." he rushed everything and just wanted to get things out as fast as he could. He left and we noticed our mirror was listed as BROKEN... We called Kasey back and he informed us AFTER he ran off, that the mirror was in fact broken and we'd have to file a claim. We just called Air 1 and the employee who answer the phone couldn't have been more disinterested in our request for instructions on how to file a claim, she was unhelpful and rude. I would never recommend this company. We were quoted $3500 by the end of this we paid $5500. We were so stressed out and we felt like we were taken advantage of on top of that my husband's grandmother's mirror is broken. He has moved 5 times with that piece of furniture and never had an issue. They broke it AND NEVER TOLD US ANYTHING UNTIL THEY WERE GONE SO THAT WE COULD PAY WHAT THEY WANTED US TO AND GET THE RUN AROUND FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY. They are awful. PLEASE USE SOMEONE ELSE. AIR1 asked me to screenshare items in my apartment and then shared what they thought it would cost, and proceeded to follow-up with that proposal via email. Nadia was quick to respond via phone and email, and helped in providing me with information in order to make a decision. The decision to move forward with AIR 1 was made for (3) reasons: 1) Price, 2) Customer Reviews, 3) Communication and Helpfulness. My moving date was July 2nd. The head mover walked through the 1bed/1bath apartment and confirmed what was going in the truck, and provided a rough estimate of some additional fees: $400 dollars for packing materials; he waived the $75 dollars for the apartment being on the 2nd floor instead of 1st (though we had an elevator). He proceeded to tell me that the “binding estimate” provided via phone and email which was around $2,800 was just an estimate and it could increase by $900 dollars. I took this with a grain of salt, and hoped the fact all the remaining belongings being organized in 1 room would speed up the process and reduce that $900 as much as possible. 3 hours laters the head mover walks me to the moving truck (which I had not seen empty) and shows me the total cubic feet that my belongings had taken up in their moving truck. I didn’t ask if they used the little hitch above the carriage, but I took them for their word. While in my empty kitchen, with all my belongings in the truck, the price then reached $4,329 dollars (with several discounts included). While in my empty kitchen, with all my belongings in the truck, the price then reached $4,329 dollars (with several discounts included). There has been 1 actual update, after calling the long distance department twice, and waiting on hold for 15-minutes. Only to be told nothing of substance. Communication that I've had to initiate includes: 2 emails, 1 unanswered 2 calls - one with Nadia who promised an update by the end of the week which wasn't met 1 call with the manager of the Long Distance Department, Lee. On this call, I was told I needed to be patient, and to check my spam folder multiple times Lee communicated via phone not email (and did not guaranteed) that a driver would be assigned either Tuesday, 7/21 or Wednesday, 7/22 It's 7/23. I just moved from NoHo to Sherman oaks recently and a friend referred me to Air 1. Not knowing what to expect, It ended up being a really good experience. The crew was very fast and helpful, and it made moving such an easy process. My only thing would be that their customer service needs to improve a little. The girl that answered the phone seemed annoyed with all my questions, and took her time to give me an answer.
